This are fun images to work with. They are somewhat vintage looking. The remind me of older type of magazines such as Saturday Evening Post. Not really Norman Rockwell but that type of image. Hope you will play along for your chance to win from Nicecrane so that you can try and see what you think.

For my image I went with some soft pastel colors. I have colored her with my copics.

I have used a Cheery Lynn die cut along with a quickutz circle dies. I added a piece of stitched ribbon from my stash. A few pearls to match for a little 3-D on the card.

The Happy Birthday and Modern Label punch are from Stampin Up and were Christmas gifts this past Christmas and is the first card I have used them on. Love them!

I picked this cutie patootie because she immediately made me think of Easter. Don't you just love her adorable bonnet?
It also made me think it would be a great “Thinking of You” card because she looks like she may be thinking or day dreaming about someone.
Such a versatile image wouldn't you say?

I printed her onto Cryogen card stock which I am not a big fan of btw ( I ran out of my favourite Neenah).
I then coloured her with my Copic Markers.

The Dollshouse Collector

Hello all, and a warm welcome to a snowy Words and Pictures today (for the second time, if you've already seen this)...
I'm sharing with you one of the gifts I made for my mother's birthday at the weekend. It's a small book of words and pictures (surprise, surprise!) about dollshouses.

Some of you may know my mother as Cestina, and have visited her blog about creating a museum in the Czech Republic out of her dollshouse collection.

So as soon as I saw the amazingOur Dollies images fromNicecrane Designs, I knew it was a perfect fit to make something for her with.

Well, almost a perfect fit... Cestina is a big fan of the neutral projects (she's not so keen on my recent turquoise kick), and the images were all very brightly coloured. So I decided to see whether I could alter them in my photo software and happily ended up with all the images in a gentle sepia.

Ihope the lovely Ignacio of Nicecrane won't mind that I've altered his images, but it's good news for fans of neutrals to know that the option exists, I think!

used my new Tim Holtz Cabinet Card die (happy find in the Christmas sales - I used the mini-version to make my Good Old Daysproject, which Cestina requested - demanded, perhaps, is a better word - as another birthday present) to cut the pages from chipboard.

To start with, I gave all of them a couple of coats of gesso and white acrylic paint.

or the front cover, I used the Tim Holtz book cover stamp (love this stamp), edged it with Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder for a textured look, and added some highlights with Treasure Gold in White Fire.

The Idea-ology flowers and bookplate also got a little touch of White Fire, and I used the Hero Arts alphabet stamps to stamp the title.

Ah yes, the title is the title of the poem by Jacob Polley which forms the "words" element of the book. It was found by a friend of ours (amazing Andrea who shares her musings at Eclectic Meandering) who wrote it in Cestina's Christmas card this year, so I borrowed it for this project.

Fortuitously (since I didn't check before I started) the poem has four verses (the whole thing is at the foot of the post as today's quote), so that meant one for each page for the four images I'd chosen to use.

And since my printer is playing up at the moment - I'd had to beg another friend to print the images for me! - I'd've been really scuppered if I'd suddenly needed another picture!

The inner pages were all stamped with my favourite Stampology flower corner, and inked with Vintage Photo, and on each of the the poem pages, I added one of the tiny chipboard windows from Retro Café Art and did some doodling by hand in the remaining space.

For the picture pages, I layered up inked paper doilies, frayed cheesecloth, and the beautiful Memory Box die, Madera Corner, cut from some Basic Grey paper from the Serenade collection.

I tried to get the Madera Corner into a different place on each layout, which meant working out where it caused least obstruction to the picture underneath in each image.

I added corners from the ATC and Corners die to all of the verses and pictures, to look as though they're held in place in an album, and I used some Idea-ology bead chain to "bind" the book.

Nearly there... this is the last verse! (And don't forget you can click on the photo if you'd like a closer view.)

For a finishing touch, I added some brown gingham ribbon to the bead chain at the front.
As you can see, I had to clear the snow off my favorite tree in order to take the pictures today!

I hope you've enjoyed having a look at my mother's birthday book... I was so happy to find such perfect pictures for a dollshouse collector.

Today you have my final Valentine using an image from Nicecrane Designs.

I went with a somewhat Victorian look for this one.

Pieces of Dresden scrap were used for the gold borders. The deep purple paper is a specialty paper made in India. I am very impressed with the quality of the images from Nicecrane Designs. They are high resolution and very easy to resize to fit your need.

Here is my 3rd of four Valentines made using an image from Nicecrane Designs. Sometimes it is fun to use non-traditional colors for holidays as I did on this card.

I used decorative layers cut with the Spellbinders die Resplendent Rectangles and then "popped" the layers using fun foam. I find that using fun foam instead of little squares or circles keeps your layers more uniform and keeps the sags away.

The pale green paper has a slight sheen and pattern to it. I embellished with tulle, paper flowers, and oval shaped pearls. A Valentine greeting is on the inside of the card.

Here is my second Valentine card using an image from Nicecrane Designs.

I had just the right patterned paper (several years old) by Fancy Pants to go with the soft pinks and greens in the image. (Never worry about that hoard of paper in your closet...you will eventually find a use for it!) Once again, I used a die from Spellbinders to frame the image.

I then made an ATC with an image from Nice Crane Designs, I was lucky enough to receive a comment last week asking if I would like to choose one of their digi packs, after looking at what they had to offer , and there are loads of great digi packs, I went for the steam punk set. Definitely worth checking them out,there are lots of Alice in wonderland and Wizard of Oz, also some great Oriental images, more toppers or back ground papers but beautiful vintage designs.

Again the ATC was cut from mount board,the balloon was painted with Distress inks and then covered with glue n seal to act as a resist, the bg was then inked up with vintage photo and walnut stain. eyelets were added to the corners and holes punched into the tag so I could tie my ATC to the tag with a leather thong. the steam punk automation is from Paper Artsy and coloured with Distress inks and he has just been tucked behind the ATC. To finish off I added the Journy plate and some Ideology keeping with a travel type theme.

Wowww,wowwww,, only a few days to celebrate St Valentine' s Day.......so May Oconnor was working on her Third St Valentine Card......, I love her particular style, so elegant , so adorable,, so vintage, take a look to this amazing card,,,,with my sweetie pict and the stunning corrugated hearts and butterfly....OMG I am falling in love with this card.

This is my 3rd Valentine project using the Beautiful vintage images from NICECRANE DESIGNS I hope you like it!!

I used some corrugated card for the background.. some lace on top I added some aged ivory fran-tage to corrugated card and to the hearts.. I cut a frame out for image that also has had the fran-tage treatment (lol) the pearls are from my stash as is the ribbon, button, butterfly and heart doily

As I told you before,,,,,,,London Underground is celebrating its 150 Th Anniversary, so I have designed some new Vintage Advertising Poster to celebrate it. I asked to Jenny to work with my

Vintage London Undrgr. Vol III

Got you Jam fans singing yet? Well break out your sideburns and get ready for another masculine card using one of the London Underground poster images from Nicecrane Designs.

I kept this relatively simple in design so the poster and background could get the attention they deserved.

A few close up shots for you to show the details;

The background panel is one of those I created using Silver Ferro texture paste. Once embossed it was distressed with a combination of all three metallic Distress Stains. They were dotted around randomly and then rubbed into the dried paste with my digits (oh yes, never happier than when I'm covered in ink!!) Both panels were layered onto textured gold card and edged with a swipe of Rennaissance Treasure Gold.

Then for the clever(?) bit. To add a touch more interest I wanted to add some stamping. To do this I stamped Indigo Blu cogs onto tissue paper using black Archival Ink. Then a mix of Wild Honey, Pine Needles and Faded Jeans Distress Inks were mixed onto the back of the tissue with a spot of water and a lot of care. Once dry the tissue was torn roughly and applied to the background with matte Glue n Seal (one of my crafting essentials).

The poster image needed distressing so I used a trick I saw on Brenda Brown's superb blog - having given it a couple of coats of clear UTEE I popped it in the freezer. It didn't take long to harden and at that point was ready to bend and crack randomly. Then I rubbed Brushed Corduroy Distress Stain into those cracks and let it dry. Finally I gave it a layer of that Glue n Seal to stop the UTEE peeling off completely.

A simple sentiment and a few cogs were all that was needed to complete the card which, I'm sure you will agree, is just perfect for the man in your life. Hope this has 'tickled your tastebuds' to take a look at the three sets of digital images available in the Underground series. They are real gems for use on cards for men or women alike. And whilst you are surfing please take the time to go and see Anne's latest project 'Children in the Victorian Age', an absolute gem of mixed media work produced by a wonderful crafter.

New Victorian Children & St. Valentine Cards.

Hi again ladies,,,,,,,,I was some problems with paypal servers,,,,,but now all problems is solved,,,,woww,,. My friend Anne did a really stunning canvas.........with my "Children in the Victorian Age IV" .It is a must-have to watch and get some inspiration.

I did do a canvas last week, not for any particular challenge, but just because I wanted to use one of my new Nicecrane Digital pictures. The image is from a Children in the Victorian Age sheet and I think she is absolutely beautiful. Nicecrane do a fabulous range of digital images and it is well worth taking a look at the range, I think you will be impressed.

I started with an 8" square canvas which I covered with some manuscript paper. I covered the paper lightly with Gesso, then a coating of Snow Cap Distress Stain mixed with a little Dusty Concorde DS. The little frame was a purchase in the sales and was one of three hanging frames in molded plastic and coloured a hideous yellow. I Gessoed the frame and then gave it a coat of watered down white acrylic paint and then distressed the edges with a touch of Dusty Concorde DI. I took the backing off the frame and inserted the picture.

A piece of frayed fine cheesecloth was attached to the canvas and I glued the completed frame on top. I coloured four white roses with Dusty Concorde DI, watered down with water in a spritzer bottle. Once dry, I glued these along with two plain cream coloured roses. To finish off I added two Spellbinder die butterflies with pearl bodies.

Lovey Dovely Cards with Nicecrane Image

I have gotten out all the Valentine's Paper I own and am making a futile attempt to make a dent in it. See Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays of all time and I hoard paper.I am in love with the Victorian images, hearts, roses and who doesn't like chocolate. ;-) .Plus, got married one really cold Valentine's Day almost 15 years ago.

I tend to get excited about making Valentine's Day cards and I like to send them too. It's kinda like my way of celebrating the holiday and our anniversary, sending out love in the mail!

Here is a photo of my pile of goodies right before I got started gluing down flowers and the images. I am not a huge card maker so I make them all the same.

I did have a fun simple little sketch to use from Get Creative that I rotated. I did add the banners, what a better way to use up thousands of little tiny cool smidges of paper!

And, here is another shot of the cheese box I fancied up for my SIL.

Yes it is really a cheese box. I added shimmer modge podge and tissue paper with some black spritz and this is the end result. See, there it is all laid out ready to be made beautiful! ;-) Hope she likes it, I'm adding something yummy inside!

Wenche Jensen from my DT was working with this New Sheet and take a look to her incredible Bag-Card, so unique, so vintage, so elegant..........Thanks a million Wenche.

A bag of cards from me again. Finished paper bag decorated with patterned cake napkin, flowers, pearls, a small bow and heart charm. The words are cut out from a klippeark from Paper Girls. This cutting sheet has really become a favorite with me. Designs from NiceCrane Designs A Cozy Corner Can also be seen scrapping.no.

I must tell you Laura Bomber, show me this incredible creation working with my "Beautiful Ladies Backgrounds" by H. Fisher. so elegant card, so vintage, so unique gift,,,,,so directly from her blog:

I wanted to make a vintage style card - You might have noticed a far more obvious vintage theme in my last few posts. Well, I am enjoying it so much I am not ready to stop yet - so the vintage inks came out again!

As you all know, from my last post, the printer waved the white flag and has decided to start printing again....One of the first things I printed up were these gorgeous images I got from Nicecrane designs. The one I used on this card was from the 'Beautiful ladies' set. If you have never been to the Nicecrane website or blog - you should really take a look. There are so many amazing images there- You will be spoilt for choice. Whatever your style of arts and crafts you will find the perfect images for you.....

Here is the picture I used on the card. It was stuck onto a piece of white card. Then I inked some white card with Antique Linen and applied the image on top of this. The layered effect was continued with some more white card on which had Bundled Sage blended over it. Once cut to size I blended some Walnut Stain DI around the edge.

To construct the card I repeated the technique I used on the Vintage Fashiontag. This is where I stamped images over the card and masked them and covered the area with a script stamp. I again used the black archival 'semi dry' pad so it wasn't a very dark print. I was also using the ink pad less carefully than usual so there wasn't a complete coverage of ink on the stamp - this gives a muted faded image, sometimes a partial image. I think this gives a lovely vintage feel to the piece. I went over the entire piece with Antique Linen and Pumice Stone DI's using the blending tool. Then I smudged some Walnut Stain DI around the edges........

Down the centre of the card I wanted a strip of pale green. So using the Tim Holtz wrinkle free distress I used some Bundled Sage and Antique Linen DI's. I kept dabbing the piece of card in the ink until I had the effect i wanted. I then cut the strip of card to size and inked the edges with more of the same inks.

To do the birthday wishes banner I cut a strip of card, inked with Antique Linen and edged in Walnut Stain. I stamped the words with black archival ink. I was going to just place the words on the card but as I did this I decided I wanted it raised off the card rather than placed flat. I began to roll the edges - which looked nice but I felt something was missing. Hunting through the ribbon drawer I got some sage ribbon and glued it to the back of the banner. Then I rolled up the edges into a scroll effect and glued them.

......I liked the card as it was and while I didn't want to detract from the image, I wanted some more detail. I stained two roses with Antique Linen and two with Victorian Velvet. I had some paper covered wire so used the twirls of wire that I love so much to decorate the bouquet and hold it together as well. I tried to tie up the bouquet with the wire but it looked messy. So I dyed some very narrow ribbon with some Bundled Sage DI and to add to the vintage look I attached an antique style pendant into which I had put an image of roses.

I had a 6 x 6 white card blank so I inked the entire front of the card with Antique Linen DI and then attached the inked and stamped card creation to it.

St Valentine ' s Day New Releases & Vintage London Underground Adv

St Valentine' s Day is coming soon,,,,so I asked to Lori Hairston to work with my new "Be My Valentine Cs" and she did this absolutely stunning Heart Tin,, so cute, so different,,,,,,so colorful , horayyy for Lori, I really love her creativity, I am sure you `ll get inspiration here to use my new sheets.

I've discovered something pretty cool - I may be the last person on earth to have discovered it, but I'll tell you about it anyway... It's a product called Pearl Pen. I don't remember what I was really looking for, but this caught my attention. I have to say, I am really impressed with how it works! No air bubbles (so far) and it really stays in pearl form - no flattening at all! I got mine from Stuff4Painting. I only got cream and black. Now I'm going back for more!

This darling vintage image is from Nicecrane Designs. You can also see the pearls made with the pearl pen. I bought a bunch of these red heart tins years ago. I've used them several times, but felt like they needed to be covered. But, this time I felt like this little cutie matched the red perfectly. Also, instead of placing it bottom down, I decided to design it tilted on its side.

I wrapped the bottom with a couple rows of a punched border die. Ignacio has quite a few wonderful Valentine images to choose from. Now enjoy my new sheet:

I was inspired by Ravens and Writing Desks. She even has a tutorial video. I thought it was such a cute idea. I made 2 at a time. You start with a paper bag. Then you have pockets to put your valentine's in. Below is a valentine with twine around it and a bag of M and M's.

Having difficulty with men?

I asked to Jenny to use this amazing vintage collection to create a men card,,,,,and take a look to her fantastic work,,,,so unnusual, so different, so vintage...Thanks again Jenny.

Don't mean in general! but how many times have you heard someone say that cards/projects for men are difficult? Well Nicecrane Designs has something to help you - just released are three sets of digital images depicting early posters from London Underground. Some of you may have seen that London Underground is celebrating it's 150th anniversary this year (they recently had a steam locomotive travelling to Paddington Station to mark the opening of the very first line, the Metropolitan Line). From the 1920's they employed many well known artists to create advertising posters encouraging people to use the service so the designs are first class and very varied. I used one of these images to create the focal point on this card.

Enjoy the amazing work by JennyI love the fact that these images are not (now, how did Son No. 1 put it?) 'gender-specific'!

This image is clean when you print it but I aged it a little by blotting DS Brushed Cordrouy and DI Antique Linen on top. There are so many characters to look at and identify on this poster.

I know Alison, amongst others, was keen to see what I would do with the results of my Ferro embossing, so here's the Gold one which had DI Rusty Hinge applied to the raised areas. The 'pipework' is from Crafty-Emblies and has been inked up with DS Antiqued Bronze/Tarnished Brass.

I thought it would be fun to use a small portion of the same poster to add the sentiment to, and having embossed it in black I added a layer of clear embossing powder too. This makes the colours much deeper. the circles panel is some 'caught in crystal' embossed acrylic. Hope this gives you some ideas for your difficult men! Thanks for dropping by, hugs Jenny x

Distressed Vintage Labels & Asian Inspiration

This Time I was working with something totally different,,,so I choose soe Vintage Tags to design a complete Sheet and use them to design amazing craft and scrapbook layouts,,,,,, Katrine Braiten was working with my new "Vintage Advertising Labels DSL" and she did this AMAZING .SWEET AND CUTE SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT......So directly from Scrappingno Website

When I saw the gorgeous Vintage Advertising Labels from Nicerane Designs I immediately thought that they just have to make something with.

Since these do not have any color, I've created a background using Distress Stains on akvarellark before I printed my chosen labels. First I found the picture I wanted, leave it next to my Distress Stain color chart and picked out the colors so that the passport photo needs.

I have selected five different Stains and a separate mixed mist. Used also Glimmer Mist pearl, transparent with shimmer.

Thus the finished background with motifs printed on top. Totally unique.

I have created a layout with lots of colors, and have tried to find patterned with the same colors as Stainsene I've used. Many layers of patterned papers, labels and other decorations.

Hi everyone, and for those in the UK hope you are not too badly affected by the snow. We've got a good few inches here and it's been at it again this morning. Right in the middle of the country we've got the snow from the west, more from the east, and the distinct possibility of even more tomorrow! The dog is loving it of course, but then she's got a 20 tog duvet coat and webbed feet!!! And now for today's offering...

For those who joined me on Wednesday you will have seen some of the elements of this card on my workdesk. Although I knew the colours in this beautiful Japanese Gardens image from Nicecrane Designs matched perfectly with the last of my 'Tammy Tutterow' backgrounds the tricky bit was working out how to combine them. And so I dug deep into my memory banks and hit upon using a swivelling panel.

Using Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Powder on the corners and along the edges of the image I layered it with co-ordinating cardstock befofre mounting it on the central panel.

I used Tim Holtz' shattered stains technique on the grungeboard letters with DS Tarnished Brass.

The butterfly was stamped onto antique gold card and white vellum using Coffee Archival Ink and some of the edges were painted with DI Victorian Velvet/Pumice Stone to match the background.

I'm sharing a triptych with you today; let me start with a quick front and back, and then I'll show you some details. I managed to capture some late evening sun (up in my usual tree), so there are some photos which really glow nicely with winter gold, though you have to deal with the occasional shadow of a branch!

I have made a small wall calendar on a sheet of cardboard a'la back of sketchpad. The finished calendar measures 11 * 16cm, and hung up with Tim Holtz clip. hand motif from NiceCrane Designs New Year Post Cards Vol II Due to the cardboard with white gesso, decorated with patterns, lace napkin, swirl, flowers, pearls and charms. Halvperleswirlen bottom was originally completely white, but I thought it was a little pale in the lower region, so replacing some white pearls with pink. Blom Terra intakes are charms of metal bought on ebay. Put pearls over * eye * on charm tendon and in some of the flowers as decorations. they cute mini calendars are available from Scrapomainia . Could also be seen scrapping.no.

Welcome friends old and new alike. So glad you could join me again. Hope you got something from yesterday's post about my adventures with embossing folders (HERE for those who may have missed it). Oh, and a quick heads up... I've found another use for them! but that will be part of my next post:) Now, as I mentioned previously this month is 'birthday heavy' here so it feels like all I've been doing is creating cards. And then I discovered it is one of my non-crafty friend's 40th birthday next week!

I was thrilled recently to receive an email from Ignacio from Nicecrane Designs offering me a set of images from his wonderful selection. It was hard to make a choice but Japanese Gardens just called to me. You can see one of these images in the top left hand corner.

It needed distressing a little with Walnut Stain and embossing (a Tim Holtz mini) and was mounted on some card I covered with Stampendous Jeweled Gold embossing powder re-coloured with Oregano alcohol ink. The red background card was also distressed and stamped in black and gold (covered with gold mica powder) with wooden stamps my OH brought back from a business trip to Japan (lucky me:))

The script panel was a happy moment for me - rubbing Antique Linen into the middle of white cardstock, Vintage Photo onto the outer third, Pumice Stone over the whole lot and Walnut Stain, I finished by spritzing it with some Walnut Stain ink mist. The script is a Hero Arts background one.
The flower is covered in Morris Dance gilding flakes (Indigo Blu) and the leaves are real!!! Oh yes, if you take freshly fallen leaves and cover them completely in Glue n Seal they remain reasonably flexible and don't dry out! These were salvaged back in October 2012.

I have always loved Dolly Dingle! This Dolly Dingle's hat reminded me of a strawberry - so you can see where that lead me.

I used the strawberry file from The Cutting Cafe as my pattern. I cut 2 strawberries from red felt and only one of the leaf pattern from green. Before I sewed the sides together, I created the little strawberry seeds from french knots. One of my friends has been talking about getting a disappearing tracing pencil like the one I have. I picked it up for her, along with some scissors and ticking remnants. She's going to be surprised!

What happens when you get all your new crafty stuff out and put it right in front of you to make a card? You about lose your mind, that's what. Too too much cool stuff and not that having stuff is a problem, it's just resisting the urge to throw it ALL on the card together. After pacing and picking, eliminating and scratching head, I decided to use these groovy pom poms that Mom gave me for Christmas. A "fairly" CAS card using the beautiful image from Nicecrane Designs

This is another set of fairies from Nicecrane Designs as well and I've combined them with a quirky game of Scrabble Bingo. Thank you Mitra for the coolest jar of buttons and Scrabble pieces ever! This combo might make a cute Valentine card or a new baby card.

Well today I would like to share with you A fantastic vintage image from nicecrane designs A beautiful image of Marie Antoinette.. I have mounted this on some canvas board which I painted with Facetten lack crackle paint colour 650.. then when dry I added some more clear crackle paint then sprayed the background with some Perfect Pearls Mist colour Bronze.. added some elements, Ribbon, Lace, trinkets from my stash rolled some flowers to match the beautiful rose she is holding...

Kristin Langnes did a really so funny and elegant Bag-Card . NiceCrane Designs has lots of gorgeous digital design you can download, print and use as many times as you want. I have this time made a bag card with a lovely vintage lady, Ladies on Old Post Cards .

The image is printed on regular copy paper and then cut out. Pose Card is easily embellished to bring up the subject better.

Up in the bag card, I put a special tag team.

The tap is very simple with only two mats on top of each other. The edges are blackened with ink.

Lori Hairston was working with my Christmas Collections, and she did

Can it already be December 12th? Wow - just 13 more days 'til Christmas! I finally did some soldering - I've had no time to do it - but I had to get in there to finish some ornaments. Every year I do about 10 ornaments for a friend of mine. I make them from the photo cards people send her. I would have never thought of that - they make a great gift! So...while I was making those for her, I created some for myself.

I used vintage images from Nicecrane Designs. The santa above is from the Vintage Santa Vol IV collection. And the santa below is actually from a tea bag pocket from the Christmas Tea Bag Wrappercollection. I just used the picture portion instead of the whole pocket.

This is a little bag I decorated with the help of gel medium, mists, stamps and the wonderful image from Nicecrane Desings..

In addition to the image I have used Fireworks Sprays, Petaloo Flowers, Promarkers to color with, some stickels, Memory Box dies from the swirls, prima bling and Petaloo flowers.. The ribbon on top is Hug Snug colored with the mists used on the bag..

Mayan Calendar says The World will end on December 21, 2012.

On December 21, 2012, the Mayan Calendar's 13th Baktun cycle will end. On this date, the world as we know it will also change. So it should. This is the natural order of our universe. It is the order of all things. Yet, despite the fact that change is normal and expected in everything that we know, there is a tremendous amount of anticipation for this one upcoming date of December 21, 2012 in particular. The reasons are many, both good and bad. For some, December 21, 2012 is the beginning of a new era, where humanity will evolve to a greater understanding of our place in the universe. To others, it is the much prophesied Apocalypse, or the doomsday end. Ironically, for most of the living decendents of the ancient Maya themselves, it's just the end of another calendar cycle or simply another day.

with my "Vintage Christmas Scenes I" ...so adorable,,,, love it,,,and her coloring is so
unique, thanks a million Margreet.

I finally found the time to make a card with the Nicecrane DesignsChristmas Scenes Collections. I coloured with distress inks and die cut with a nestabilitie. I put some gauze beneath it. The leaves are made with a Tim Holtz die, I put some Glossy Accents on them and afterwards I made the veins with the picket fence distress marker. The threefold bow is made with the bowdabra and I put some jinglebells in between. The rosettes are also made with a Tim Holtz strip die and I put some buttons from my stash on top. I had a leftover of the rosette and stapled it as a mouse stairs (don't know if this is a correct English word). The 2 stars are splitpins and as finishing touch a metal corner at the top.

I really love Creativity by Lisa,,,,,she is always innvovating anc creating
such great works,,,, .They are a MUST-HAVE as inspiration for any crafter.

To begin, I've had the honor of using the gorgeous vintage images from Nicecrane Designs and this little girl dancing with her dolled up cat is from Vintage Christmas Scenes DSL II

I try to purchase as little as I can of glass items from the commissary, as they are not recycled in this area, but in the rare case that I have to, I prefer to save them for using sometime down the road. Well, the road ended and I found the opportunity to make a couple Soda Bottle Candy Jar and Card Gift Sets.

The process began by cleaning and removing labeling. Once done, I made an oval masking of contact paper and placed it on the jar where I wanted a etched look. Using Armour Etch Glass Cream, I applied it to the oval area and let sit for five minutes. Rinsing this off, what remained was a clear glass jar with a center etched area, all ready for a wonderful vintage image. The image I colored was then scanned, down sized on the computer, shape changed to an oval and then when done, added directly to the etching with Mod Podge.

Acrylic white paint was then sponged about a 1/4" away from the etching to show a little clear glass, and then the entire remaining surface was dabbed white. Little wooden knobs were glued to the bottom as well for some more character. When dry, an acrylic clear coat was sprayed to protect the paint. Decorations were then added to coordinate.

A tag comes with the Soda Glass Candy Jar as well and matches the components used on the jar.

Here is the matching gift card, still using the same elements found on the jar and the tag. This is the original image that I colored in copics, that was sized down in the computer to fit on the jar. A little crotchet doily I made to fit on the card as I was using the Mojo Monday #271 sketch for inspiration.

That was one for a girl and now, one for a boy!

The same exact technique was employed for this set as well.

I carried out the western scene as this little lad is propped on his horse getting his hat ready to ride while his side kick awaits.

The matching gift card that also uses the same image and the sketch from Mojo Monday.

For a little extra fun, I paper pieced actual newspaper onto his hat for a more realistic look.

Miracles Momma Designs Sketch: SEEDS

In this case, I actually used images from one of my favorite digital shops and printed out my own.

I posted about my new garden the other day and decided to make a page about it. I found when we moved, all the little things I had done at the old house suddenly became memorable and special.

Although this garden is in the rough stages right now, I'm really enjoying the feeder I can see out the window! Hence the title of "SEEDS" as the garden is really only being started and the birds are crazy fiends when it comes to those sunflower seeds!

Used a really great Heather Landry Sketch. I thought it was a super cool one for showcasing some paper.

Ignacio at Nicecrane has an ability for finding some really cool vintage images to use!
The colors on these images are subtle, yet have some really bright colors that I wanted to match with my flower spray.

There is a Lizzy Hill bloom on there and also two from Eye Candy Magic. The cute little cake on top of the Washi tape was recycled off a birthday card sent to me from my friend Kristy. Since my birthday is rolling around AGAIN, I figured it was safe to use.

"Good morning/evening everyone, hope your week is off to a good start! I have two quick and super easy projects to share using vintage images from Nicecrane Designs. The first is a simple wall hanging featuring Santa Claus doing what he does best, making toys for good boys and girls. After trimming my image I defined the edges with Black Soot distress ink by Ranger to make it stand out. I'm a big fan of antique or vintage images that have glitter on them so after I let my printed image dry I applied a light coat of Liquitex Matte Gel with a brush and sprinkled MS's white crystal fine glitter all over. I set it aside to dry and went looking for a trim to border my image and decided upon yellow crepe paper. Silver Stickles were added carefully to the edge of one side and I set it aside to dry overnight but a few hours should be enough to set the glue. To add my border trim I placed double stick tape along the back edges of my image and adhered it to my frame gathering it by hand as I went. Holly 3D stickers accent each corner and a pretty ribbon added to the back created a hanger. I kept this project simple because I am mass producing it for the residents at my mom's nursing home. You would be surprised how excited they get about anyone doing anything for them and they all know & recognize Santa. :) I do have to be careful with the items I make to ensure the residents safety so all embellishment has to be permanent. The matte gel insures the glitter stays on my project and can be found in the art department of Michael's or Hobby Lobby here in the US. I took an extra step to ensure nothing comes off on their hands and sealed it with a spray adhesive. Here's a close up of my sparkly surface and trim."

I have to tell you, this image is gorgeous in person and I love it!

The Country Diary of an Edwuardian Lady

Woww,woww,woww,,, I must tell you Alison Bomber is now on The Team, so I asked her to work with my new "The Country Diary of an Edwuardian Lady" from the famous book by Edith Holdenand she did this absolutely stunning Vintage Poems Book, enjoy watching it:

Here I've used the lovely Country Lady Save Pack, inspired by the illustrations from Edith Holden's Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady.

Since there are twelve months to get through, I'm issuing a Long Photo-Heavy Post Warning!!
This was one of those projects where it really felt as though I was just along for the ride... I didn't know very much about it! That may be the effect of it all arriving in my head in the middle of the night, and half of it being made in the early hours of the morning, but I think it's also a good sign that you're "in the zone", or at least "in the moment" as you're creating... just letting things happen, and enjoying the ride.

It was also clear that the universe was on my side when, after a snowy night, the sun came out to allow me to capture some some photos in its late afternoon golden rays.

There's part of a photo from the earlier shots of my desk that will give you some idea of the journey of this piece.

I used sheets from a cheap watercolour pad (bought from The Works for a couple of pounds), and tore them to the size I wanted.

I printed the lovely monthly illustrations on some canvas weave printer paper which gives them a lovely weight and texture, slightly fabric like... I think you can see something of what I mean in later photographs.

To weather the papers, and tone them in with the images, I did a lot of spritzing. I started with coffee (yes, actual coffee), but wanted a bit more colour, so I mixed a bit of Mushroom Color Wash in with it.

This gave a good base colour; then, for extra texture and colour I spritzed very lightly with the Mushroom again, or with Espresso Color Wash, and sometimes with both to build up the interest.

Once that was done, I blended Vintage Photo and Wild Honey DIs onto the edges of the pages. The Wild Honey is great for warming up the tone of whatever colour you're using, and given that these images had quite honeyed tones in them anyway, it seemed the perfect ingredient.

You can see the eventual look on the back cover and these close-ups... and what I love is that each page is unique, with its own colour combination and splatter pattern!

And of course I used the Tim Holtz paper distresser and some more Vintage Photo DI on the edges of the illustrations. I think you can probably see the woven texture of the paper I printed on here too, as well, obviously, as the lovely texture of the watercolour paper.

Some twine and raffia to bind the pages together... and we're pretty much done.

I'm going to leave you in peace to look through the journal shortly, but I should just say that the stamps come from a variety of sets: the front cover is Tim Holtz's Book Cover (simply love this stamp, and must use it more often!), and inside there are more TH stamps, as well as Stampology, Tattered Angels and Artemio images.

They're stamped mainly in Archival, but blending colours and sometimes including DIs on there too.

If you really desperately want to know more precisely, then drop me a comment or email with the month you want to know about, and I'll share the details with you.

But for now, I'm going to leave you to enjoy the winter sunshine... All I will add are the poem extracts from each page (in case the photos are not clear enough, or you can't read my handwriting) and sometimes a little something about the poems themselves, or perhaps the poem in full, or at least slightly expanded.

Some of the poems arrived on the pages here as inevitable participants, long-loved poems I've lived with for years; some I had to go in search of, and am delighted to have discovered some new poetical treasures!

Marilyn was working with my famous Campbell Kids Sheet,,,,so cute , so unique so
different to use on funny cards and she did this gorgeus and stunning Card

Today's card is one of the cute little Adorable Wiederseim DSL #5 images from Nicecrane Desigsn. These images are so cute and Campbell kid-ish... I'm hoping to do every one of them in this series.The papers are First Edition's Day Dream, the leaves are cut with a CC Designs Leafy Branch Die, flowers are a Marianne Designs die and I added some Basic Grey brads to the center. The sentiment is from the Lili of the Valley General Greetings set and finally, the image is coloured with Copics.
