Andrea & Brett [Married]

Andrea and Brett got married on a day that could have been raining cats and dogs, but instead mother nature felt like letting up a little and they had some great weather. The ceremony took place at St. Therese and the reception was held at The Grand 1401. The groomsmen were all fun and games throughout the day and the party went well into the night. Congrats to both of you!

William Fitzsimmons [Starline]

Thanks to Love the Captive, I had the privilege to photograph a very intimate show at the Starline featuring performers William Fitzsimmons andÂ Denison Witmer. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a show at the Starline, so it was good to be back. The room was oddly silent as I walked in except for the one person on stage. What was great about this show was that the atmosphere encouraged a lot of performer-fan interaction and conversation between songs. As Witmer got to know the crowd, he could not believe that he had found a pocket ofÂ fellow Mennonites in Fresno, CA. Fitzsimmons joked about his appreciation of people who continue to come out and enjoy his “very depressing songs”. Both played incredibly personal sets, and the show ended with Fitzsimmons alone beckoning everyone closer to the stage for an unplugged finale.

Iration [Fulton 55]

IrationÂ packed the house atÂ Fulton 55 on Thursday night. They sold the most presold tickets in the history of the venue and had over 500 people through the door. The sound was great and their cover of Weezer‘s “Say It Ain’t So” had the entire crowd singing. The band was brought in by Numbskull. Carson [1 Year]

I am not sure if you remember your first taste of cake, but baby Carson will. He, like his sister, had his first taste of sweets captured on camera for his 1 year birthday. This big cake in front of him was an odd thing at first, but he seemed to get the hang of it after the first taste.

Howlin Rain/Strange Vine [Audie’s]

Love the Captive brought us another great show. This one featured the Fay Wrays, Strange Vine, and Howlin Rain at Audie’s Olympic. There was a good crowd for a Sunday night show and the drinks were flowing. The Fay Wrays started it off with some loud rock. Strange Vine then came in with their bluesy sounds and a few new tracks. Finally, Howlin rain brought their classically soulful rock to the stage. In between sets DJ onegriggabyte kept the crowd moving. Check out upcoming shows from Love the Captive on their website.

Leanne & Mike [Engagement]

Mike is an old high school friend who recently was engaged to Leanne. They met at GB3 after Mike poured on the charm and the rest is history. Their February wedding is coming up fast so be on the lookout for some more photos.

Morning Teleportation [CYC]

A bunch of firsts for me at this Love the Captive showing of Morning Teleportation, Animal Eyes, Achievement HouseÂ andÂ DeleÃ³n. I did not get there in time for Achievement House or DeleÃ³n, but the other two bands put on a great performance.

This was my first show at CYC in Fresno’s Chinatown. It’s a small place, but works for shows like this. The lighting is not great, so it does make it a little more difficult for photography.

This was the first time I have seen a head banging accordion player who was with Animal Eyes. I was sore just watching him; his red hair was all over the place.

This was also the first time I have seen a band start without their drummer. Morning Teleportation was trying to start quickly because the show was running behind, so the guitarist and keyboarder began playing without looking back to see if the drummer was there. When it was his turn to jump in, everyone was a little surprised they heard no drums. Their missing drummer was soon found after some laughs and a short wait, and they ended up putting on an awesome show.

Fruit Bats [Audie’s Olympic]

These photos have been sitting for over a week now due to technical difficulties with a very stubborn hard drive. It is still not fully functioning, but I was able to work on the photos. This was one of the first Love the Captive shows in a while and it featured the Fruit Bats andÂ The Parson Red Heads. Really good show for a Monday night and I am glad I went out to see the show.

Carson [9 Months]

Carson is back with some 9 month photos. This little guy is growing up fast. He is now crawling and climbing and pretty soon will be walking. I could only capture a few photos due to us getting started a little later than expected, but this boy has some looks and big, big eyes. He is going to get his first cake at 1 year, just like his big sis.
