We are pleased to announce the launch of the new Nick Mackman website. We have completely rebuilt the site from the ground up using a new responsive design. This should ensure the site displays well on any platform, including mobile devices. The News pages now have built-in feeds from Facebook and Twitter. We have also included ‘Like’ and ‘Share’ buttons (as displayed below this post) on the main news and porfolio posts. We hope you like it.

Nick has a new Facebook page, where she regularly posts notes and images about her work and activities. You have probably already noticed that we have embedded her Facebook feed into the News sidebar, so you can see what’s going on. You can also follow her on Twitter (see the page footer for links). You will particularly enjoy this if you like to see behind the scenes, as Nick posts lost of photos from the studio, showing new animal sculptures in the making. We are working on some other ideas too, including video, so make sure you bookmark these pages or subscribe to her feed.

BBC Wildlife Photo Awards 2011

The winners of the 2011 BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition have been announced. Nick is delighted to announce that she was again commissioned to make a series of trophies for the award winners. As in previous years, her trophies were based on the award winning photographs.

Zambia Safari 2011

After her visit in 2010, Nick was delighted to be invited back to the Bushcamp Company’s Mfuwe Lodge in Zambia’s South Lungwa National Park. During her visit she was able to observe many of the park’s wild animals at close quarters, making sketches and taking photographs for use back in the studio. She also took time out to visit a local school and spend some time working with the children.
