It’s true! We are waaay too behind in updates for all of you folks out there. Sorry! It’s not that we don’t love you, it’s just that we’re workin’ real hard to get this movie done for y’all. We’ve been filming all the while and we have a stockpile of videos and photos for ya on the way that we can start trickling out. We’ve said this in the past but this time it’s the truth! Let’s start off with some photos that we recently put out on the facebook page: Take a look!

Soon, we want to try and tackle some of this video footage that’s built up over this season of shooting. Before we get into that, though, I have a request! September 4th, 5th and 6th will be the biggest shooting weekend for the movie. It will be the epic final battle between the forces of heaven and humanity! We need extras! Tons of them! We’ve just returned from a 3 day trip to Toronto…Canada!

Why did we go?

Reason #1: To get a boat load of film processed for Charlie Christ: The Gospel According to Fools!.

Reason #2: To do some filming in yet another city. This movie is going global!

Reason #3: To better understand that slight differences between Canada and the U.S. that plague our trivial curiosity.

It occurs to us that we owe you all a butt load of videos, so we’ll be sure to show you motion pictorials of our experience in the great nation of Canada. For now we have a few photos to show you on our facebook page:

Charlie Christ Production Continues

Happy 4th of July weekend! Sorry about the lack of updates last week – we were too busy working on the movie that we forgot to keep all of you updated on what we were doing. Well, here I am with an update on what’s going on in the world of Charlie Christ and Niente Peaches.

Since July 4th was this past weekend, and fireworks were going off everywhere, the Charlie Christ crew took some time away from filming to work on things like props, costumes, and logistics. What logistics you may ask? Ones with logs and trees and wood. And also upcoming film dates and locations. But mostly wood. We’re great fans of Leave It to Beaver.

So we have a shoot coming up this Saturday, July 10th. It’s going to be a fight scene between our hero Charlie and a tall, ugly, and mean ogre – and we need your help! Please get in touch with us to let us know if you can come this Saturday for the shoot. If you want an idea of what a shoot is like then just check out the video from our last movie shoot.

Summertime Shoot at the Lab

Aaah summer. A time for beaches, flowers, and sun. A time that breeds love and fun. A time that is perfect to film a movie with friends, a scientist, and the Flying Spagetti Monster.

Last Sunday was the official kick-off for this summer’s Charlie Christ filming season. If you checked in on Monday you would have gotten a glimpse of the fun times we had making the Flying Spagetti Monster fly.

Today we’re back with an awesome behind-the-scenes clip that makes me jealous to have been a part of. Seriously – it’s a bit unfair how much fun we had filming this scene. Check it out below:

A Breakthrough In Italian Science!

Eureka! The long awaited Immaculate Perception experiment is finito! What is Immaculate Perception you say? It is a process that has proven the theory that Heaven, the Angels and God exist on Earth with us but on a different frequency of light. The brave and sexy Claudio Chiuso (USA!) of Italy is the mastermind behind this endeavor and has used himself as the human subject. This is all true!*

Well, we thought this event was so compelling that we decided to reenact it and build a whole story around it. The story is called Charlie Christ: The Gospel According to Fools. Yesterday we filmed master Chiuso conducting his experiment in his home lab. Claudio Chiuso was played by Igor Jokanovic. We at Niente Peaches would like to thank Igor and all of our crew for making yesterday happen! This is the first of many shoots this summer and we’re hoping they’ll all be this amazing or perhaps…dare I say…AMAZINGER!

Hello everyone! Who’s ready for some safe, spottily-updated fun? I know I am. I become increasingly convinced in the weeks writing these posts that Judgment Day is imminent. Judgment Day will be interesting, at least for me, because I have no reason to believe I’m going to be saved. Instead, I feel like I’m just going to become a roast suckling pig in Hell as some sort of ironic punishment for my gluttony. Anyway, the news:

I really wanted to talk about this Gaza thing but I’m not sure I can. You see, the mere act of picturing both sides of the story in the Israel-Palestine debate is something that I’ve realized takes Herculean mental exertion. In fact, as soon as I read about the flotilla attack, several blood vessels burst in my brain and blood started shooting out of my left eye socket. Much like New Jersey, Gaza is a small strip of land in which life is nasty, brutal, short and warlike. Leaders are corrupt and the land is a barren, Road Warrior-esque hellscape. But unlike in New Jersey, aid workers do not get shot at when trying to bring vital supplies in. Judging by an experience I had several months ago, in New Jersey you get shot by workers with AIDS while trying to buy “vital supplies.” But the differences, nonetheless, are only skin-deep.

FRIENDSHIP

The Iranian opposition is being warned against protesting the one year anniversary of President Trollface McBeadyEyes winning the election. As an Iranian dissident, I’m a bit scared. I’ve had people I don’t know from Iran try to friend me on Facebook. I’m afraid that I’ll get arrested while trying to buy hummus in the supermarket and shipped off to Iran. Without access to my therapist and wine, depression will overtake me and I will start being used a public stress reliever in Evin Prison. My spongy physical frame and unwillingness to resist will make me a commodity amongst sexually-frustrated Basij officers. I’m not saying this will be the definite outcome, but it is certainly likely to happen.

The Shit Shoot Contingent

It seems that some progress is finally being made on taking care of the oil spill. The plans these engineers have employed for fixing this oil spill remind me of a bad Mexican restaurant’s menu- various permutations of the same three basic components:

“I think we should cut it first and then fire some shit at it to plug it up”

“That seems like it would work”

(several weeks later)

“That shit didn’t work.”

“What if we tried firing some shit at it, then cutting it and covering it with mud?”

“That’s thinking outside the box! That’ll definitely work!”

(several weeks later)

“That shit didn’t work either. Uhh, what if we fire mud at it with some sort of crude underwater catapult, then cut it with a diamond, then slaughter 100 seagulls to appease Neptune?”

“Why the fuck not?”

I’m proposing a radically different and new solution to this oil spill issue. Install some jets underwater that moves the oil slick closer to Mexico. We Americans are such caring people, we’d like to offer some oil- with no strings attached- to our brothers and sisters South of the Border. No need to thank us, Mexico, this one is on us. Or else, we can divert the oil slick to Cuba. Rafts made out of empty soda bottles don’t travel too well in viscous fluids.

Dear John, my mail ate it

So imagine if you sent out a Dear John letter to your boyfriend in Michigan when you were away at college in a remote, but quaint, and slightly dull New England town, majoring in a relevant topic like puppetry. Or you could have sworn, while home in Michigan that you had sent in your credit card bill, for charges mostly related to expanding your collection of antique porcelain dolls. Then imagine those items NEVER REACHED THEIR DESTINATION!! So your boyfriend shows up on your doorstep, and has no idea that you’ve moved on with a PhD candidate doing his major on the history of vampires, and your credit card bill is way high the next month because the check never went through. Well this is all entirely plausible. You see, thousands of pieces of mail, that were never delivered, were discovered in a former postal worker’s shed that his sister found in eastern Michigan. The worker claims that he was overwhelmed with his route, and instead of taking the mail back to the post office (in case he should lose his job) he stored the pile in his shed. The worker has since been charged and faces up to five years in prison. Hellllo, the answer to overwhelming job stress does not lie in a shed in your backyard. At least have some pride and use a climate-controlled storage facility. Like duh.
