Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Black Pepper Sauce
Cooked with Tiger Beer

How to save money? Nowadays, 1 chicken wings normally cost you RM2.50 when you eat at Chinese mix rice stall, Malay stall even Mamak stall. But, today i eat two chicken in once, which cost less than RM2.50 for two. Save right?! So, This is the best way to save money and eat more chicken wings at home.

(For 2 person portion)

Ingredient :

1) 4 Chicken wings

2) Carrot, Chai Xin (Choy Sum)

3) 2 Hotdogs

4) 2 Tea-spoon of Black Pepper powder

5) 1 Big spoon of Oyster sauce

6) 1 Big spoon soy bean sauce

7) 1 Tea-spoon of salt

8) 2 Big spoon corn flour

9) 1 Tea-spoon sesame oil

10) 1 Tea-spoon dark soy sauce

11) 50 ml Tiger Beer

How to Cook :

1) Marinate the chicken wings with salt, sesame oil, and Tiger beer for an hour.

2) Fry the hotdogs while marinating the chicken wings.

3) Cook the carrot and choy sum with water.

4) Heat up the pan and pour in some cooking oil.

5) Place chicken wings into the pan properly, fry it with medium fire.

6) Turns the chicken wings to the other side every 5 minutes.

7) Take out the chicken wings when it becomes golden in colour for both sides.

8) Pour 750ml water into a pot, put in oyster sauce, black pepper powder, soy bean sauce and dark soy sauce .

9) When it is boiling, put in the chicken wings into it.

10) To make the chicken wings stick with the sauce, mix the corn flour with some water.

11) Pour the corn flour's water into the pot and stir it properly.

12) Continue cook it until the gravy almost dry.

13) Serve the chicken wings with choy sum, carrots, and rice.

Tasty Chicken Rice 为食鸡 is a restaurant which their recipe origin from Northern Malaysia - Taiping. Today, i pass-by Dataran Sunway to somewhere place. Therefore, I decide to give a try on their well-known chicken rice among all chicken rice stall. This time is also my first time ate chicken rice as my breakfast ever this (before this was Bak Kut Teh), since they open at 9am.

Just for info, they are the champion for Malaysia Hainan Chicken Rice Open Competition at year 2007. So judge it your own, how the taste of theie chicken rice. I taste it great and Yum.

Homemade truly chili sauce with lime. Chicken dip with it taste better.

Synopsis : It's the eve of The Lunar New Year in a village. Every household is busy preparing to receive the auspicious God Of Fortune (GOF). Comes midnight, people of various races impersonate the GOF. They walk up to each household to offer mandarin oranges and lucky numbers in return for an "Ang Pau". Ah Beng's father being poor, dishes out only coins to these GOF. The worst dressed scruffy GOF who receives a tiny token from Ah Beng's father, is in fact, the true and almighty GOF. Without realizing, Ah Beng's father comments that he should be better dressed and wishes him good luck and good health, very sincerely. The true GOF is surprised but touched by Ah Beng's father's sincerity and grants him 3 wishes.

Not-so-bright security guard Ah Beng works at an open car-park, is being bullied by a group of rich brats with luxury cars, over their parking fee. A mysterious guy comes in and helps Ah Beng. Grateful for his help, Ah Beng invites him into his life and things starts to change around him.

One day at work, Bobby is injured while filming and with the help of Ah Beng, Rain and the mysterious guy, Bobby is brought to the hospital where they see both Ah Lian and Salted Fish Lian. Salted Fish Lian was collecting her medicine from the pharmacy. Ah Beng and the gang secretly investigates Salted Fish Lian's condition and is shocked to find out that Salted Fish Lian is very sick.

Back home, Ah Beng and the gang, are thinking of ways to save Salted Fish Lian. Bobby then spots a Talent Search contest in a newspaper with a massive grand prize of cash. Rain, Bobby and Ah Beng quickly form a singing trio to join the contest. Do they win? Who is the Mysterious Guy? Why is he there?

Steam Prawn with Tiger Beer

When tiger beer is overload in my house, i will did something special on it in order to finish up it, such treat my friend for beer when they visit me, bring it as a gift for some gathering and drinks it every night in front of my computer. This time is really special, i did some cook with Tiger beer.

(Portion for 2 person)

Ingredient :

50ml Tiger Beer

150g Prawn

1 Tea spoon salt

1 Tea spoon Oyster sauce

Minced Garlic

Black pepper

How to cook :

1) Marinated prawn with Tiger beer, salt, oyster sauce for 10 minutes

2) Add little of minded garlic and black pepper according to your own flavour before steam it.

3) Steam it for 5 minutes and its ready to serve.

Few months back, I and my friends were decide to have this bonanza promotion at Sushi King Jaya One. This promotion is open to everyone. So, this is very good chance for me to join this since i dont have any member card of it. I always miss the member day RM2 Bonanza. Therefore, this time i follow the trend and give a new try on how special of this promotion going on. RM2 promotion is only limited on rice-based sushi which place on Kaiten Belt only, means limited choice, definitely not my cup of tea. But, there is always crowd when this promotion going on. Why?

Chinese New Year is just right after a corner. While I done my CNY shopping at here, I had my light lunch at this Kenanga food court (non-halal food court) at 7th floor. For your quick information, they do have Halal food court at 3rd floor. At this Kenanga food court, they providing quite a lot of choices, all selected from the famous one like Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee, Jalan Imbi Pork Noodles, Siang Kee Chay Kuey Teow and etc.

I personally like their idea of this. For heavy eater like me, I will prefer eat first before shopping, then have a tea-break in the middle of and proceed to dinner before end my shopping. My shopping tips at Kenanga Wholesale City. For non-muslim only, eat at 7th floor first, then proceed to shop from the higher level to lower level then heading back to car-park, very convenient right? The same tips apply to muslim shopper with start makan-makan at 3rd floor.

Plenty of table and seat, its could be accumulate at least 200 persons in one times.

Garment display surrounding you. At the same time of eating, you can do your shopping as well.

Well, the price here is seem slightly higher than ordinary one. I rather pay the same price on other nearby kopitiam. Claypot beggar rice and Korean food which I ordered taste so-so only. Then, I need no to clearly describe how was the taste like. Next time, if I found no where to eat at unfamiliar place, my preferred food will still stick to restaurant food, at least their food quality was well-constant.

Authentic Taiwanese Handmade Desserts landed on SS2. Today i purposely went there to try out their signature dessert. When i open door, the services crew was well greeted to me and other customers. I feel that their services has been improve much more from what i seen on its facebook fanpage complaints. The services crew was nicely introduce to me one by one from their menu, which one is recommend and best seller, since is my first time visit. I have try their signature grass jelly and signature covermilk tea. Their drinks is well well ok and i like it.

The ambiance is nice and chill while eating their dessert.

Isenbin Covermilk Green Tea with Pearl RM6.90

This is my first try of covermilk tea. The covermilk is too sweet for me and its milk taste cover up whole green tea flavour. For my next time, I would try without covermilk on top. I need taste the real tea.

Isenbin Signature Grass Jelly (Cold) RM6.90

Inside of this bowl have grass jelly ice, Oee and creamer. Due to some reason, my some of my Oee has been replace with Macha Oee. Both Oee taste so good especially the macha Oee which has strong aroma of Macha. But i still prefer Yam original Oee.. hehe..

Today, i went new year shopping in One Utama Shopping Center and surprisingly found this candy-themed shop. There are so many cute and sweet things hidden in this Candylicious. Indeed a place of interest for kids and those who love candies.

I saw this mini trolley in the shop and can't control myself from owning it. It is just so cute, even smaller than my palm.

A close up, as you can see, it can only afford a small packet of biscuit. Haha, there are still many cute and sweet thingy waiting for your discovery, so if you are looking for present for kids or your girlfriends, definitely it will be a nice place to satisfy you.

The famous Kaki Bola XO Fried Fish Head Noodle from Taman Segar, Cheras. But this shop is their new branch at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya. The best part of this to me is I exactly not need travel far to cure my taste bug and waste my time searching for seat and car park over there. Important must order is their XO fried fish noodles. Their main selling point of this fish head noodle is the usage of XO (Extra Old Cognac brandy) in either their fish or soup and you can choose whichever you prefer upon ordering.

When its serves on my table, i can smell the aroma of XO alcohol coming out from the noodle. The soup taste delicious and YUM. Its fried fish head are great too.

Tom Yum Pangasius Fish Noodles RM7.80

Coming on this Tom Yum special soup, this soup are really thick into flavour. I like it very much. Plus, this soup are not so spicy as i thought. Sometime, I turn to be anti-spicy eater. Hehe. Info: They use Australia Pangasius fish as the ingredient. Great taste.

Braised Shark's Fin with Assorted Seafood

A luxurious soup which is preferred by most of the Chinese during Chinese New Year, comprised with shark's fin, dried scallop, and sea cucumber.

Steamed Chicken with Herbs

Recent years, most of the people tends to have a healthy lifestyle and choose to have steamed chicken instead of roasted or fried chicken. Checkers Cafe serves the steamed chicken too, with additional herbs. The chicken is smooth, and full with the fragrance of herbs.

Deep Fried Cod Fish with Superior Soya Sauce

A very big portion of cod fish, which had been deep-fried and cooked with superior soy sauce. The deep-fried method is allowing the cod fish coated with crispy and crunchy, while still retain the moist texture of the fish inside.

Deep Fried Prawns with Seafood sauce

Big prawns are always popular on the dining table during Chinese New Year. It is not exceptional in Checkers Cafe too. The prawns were cooked using seafood sauce, which give you double shoot of the seafood flavour. I am not so demanding on the prawn, as long as it's not overcooked and retains the springy texture, and this deep-fried prawns were just right and suit my appetite.

There was a very sudden night, when I decide to have my Italian Cuisine with my fellow friends at this newly open Italian restaurant located at Bangsar. For cheese lover like me will definitely love Italian Cuisine. I was attracted by the obvious signboard, it has a cute name "Italian Tomato", I just curious about its name and wonder whether the owner is a tomato lover or they are using tomato as main ingredient? So I gonna find it out the story behind it, let's go!

A very western style exterior design. I never expected that a Italian Cafe will be located in a car trading and service area. It just located in conjunction to Lucky Car Auto Spa in Bangsar, which you can send your beloved car for a spa here, and meanwhile you can enjoy a delightful meal or coffee.

Outdoor seats, with a big screen for football lover. It is always fun to watch football match with crowd, I can imagine people shout for a goal with a beer in their hand.

The interior design of the cafe. Big red lantern? western oriental design? Don't be shock, perhaps it is just decor for coming Chinese New Year.

I thought the fried thingy are pisang goreng. Oops, it was fried roti, which surprisingly fragrant despite its ugly look. so, never judge a book by its cover, k?

The beef rib is well roasted by using wood fire oven, I wonder anybody else using wood fire oven in this high-tech era? They are doing it in the traditional way and definitely it tastes traditional, lol. The portion is big and the mashed potato is solid, it's very filling.

Again and again, I bought this All-You-Can-Eat steamboat buffet at price of RM12.90 from here. One thing disappointment is how come the buffet price not including any drinks, at least plain water. Some more, drink is chargeable slightly high price than other places. All right, consider a pro and con here. They actually have plenty of seafood choices and steamboat ingredients in their fridge. Plus and minus, i get myself enjoy on this seafood steamboat session.

An open air dining place, not a 'steam sauna' place.

Bonus part : There have plenty side dish for you which can fill your stomach while waiting for steamboat ready to eat. Like this! I guess you will only get this all seafood snack on here.

The "nest" is built by fried mee sua, it is very crispy ad crunchy although it is not playing the leading role in the dish.Meanwhile, the peeled prawns are stirred fried with seasonal green, the prawn still remain its springy texture. The other main role of the dish-- scallop, is wrapped by crispy fried mee sua, it gives double texture to the dish, the crispy outside but the scallop is fresh and soft inside.

Steamed "Qing Yuan' Village Chicken

It is said that village chicken did more exercise by walking around, thus the texture of the meat is more chewy. And I believe this kind of village chicken is more organic, as they were not brought up by using those chemical food. so the chicken is delicious, although it is just steamed with some salt and soy bean sauce, the original flavour is retained.

Braised Dried Seafood Bag with Broccoli

I think Chinese will like to have this dishes during reunion, as the "bag" resembles that our pocket will always be filled up by money and treasure. Give a big clap to the chef for his creativity. The seafood in the bag is juicy and the gravy is flowed in my mouth! Indeed a wonderful experience.

Steamed Century Garoupa Traditional Style

The same theory of the way of cooking chicken applied here too, when you have the fresh and the finest ingredient, too much seasoning would be redundant. Thus by having the fresh fish, the chef chooses to steam the century garoupa in the traditional way, by putting soy bean sauce and ginger, to maintain its freshness and the original flavour.

Stewed Fragrant Rice with Preserved Meat

Various preserved meat. Clay pot rice is always well matched with the preserved meat, as the preserved meat add on some fragrance to the rice.

Sweetened Red Bean Soup and Sesame Ball

A traditional Cantonese dessert-- red bean soup, to dull to have the red bean soup alone? never mind, it is accompanied by sesame ball. The dessert resembles that your coming year will be sweet and full with happiness, and rolling up your fortune!

Not long ago, I grab my special offer from here for a Braised Pork Stew Rice Set at RM4.90 (Normal price RM9.80). As i found this definitively a good non-halal deal for pork lover. This dish is extremely well popular among Taiwanese, as its one of their delicacies. Its a must-try dish in list while travelling to Taiwan. But now, i try this at first before I had enough money for my Taiwan trip.

Actually, I had visit here for quite time ago. I still remember this place is a typical Taiwanese Food restaurant with their decor It is similar to what i had seen in TV show. Such a good place!

It is served with 2 side dishes and they are braised egg with tofu and vegetables. They also come with a special sauce to add some spice into the dish.

Braised egg with tofu, all time my favourite dish.

Just look at how it makes you salivate by just looking at it. The pork is said to be braised for some time to make the sauce seep through every inch of the meat to make it more tender and juicier. For those like chili spicy, must try their special homemade chili. Nice and extra spicy.

Its just need to reheat it for a single time and you can enjoy the Celebrity Chef cook at home or in office. Very suitable to person like me, stay alone, cook alone and eat alone.

Enjoy the NEW Gourmet Experience of Healthy & Halal Ready to serve meals & dishes in the comfort of your own home. They are bringing Toyyib concept which means wholesome and good.

How to re-heat it?
Microwave Oven Cooking Instruction for 800W and 1200 W
1) Remove tray from carton, place in microwave oven. [Meal's self-venting, do not puncture]
2) Microwave on HIGH 4 minutes (800W) or 3 minutes (1200W)
3) Peel back plastic, stir thoroughly.
4) Replace plastic, microwave on HIGH for further 1 minutes or until cooked through.
5) Remove plastic, stir, rest for 1 minutes to cool, then serve.

Simple and Easy!

But for me, I don't have microwave here. I move all the frozen meal into my ZEBRA container and steamed it for 20minutes or until cooked through in rice cooker.

Come on this chicken, I prefer the chicken like this, which are not oil when putting in mouth. The chicken meat is so soft and delicious. I actually had more on this dish rather then other dish. Yum!

Steamed Red Grouper with "Medan" Sauce

What is "Medan" Sauce? This sauce is more deviation to asam sauce, but it was not as spicy sour like asam. Its taste just between sweet sour and spicy sour. I do like this type of steamed fish very very much.

Now, the Chef Michael bringing us this Tiger Prawn. According to chef said, why using Papaya and Milk as part of ingredients, this is because people now are more tendency to eat for healthy. Therefore, this dish definitely fulfill the criteria. And, i found out all the diners that night were finish it in less than 10 minutes.. Wah.. Delicious..

About two months ago , there were one real Taiwanese cafe new opened nearby my house, which operates by a local and his Taiwanese wife (chef in house). Everything here were actually homecooked Taiwanese food, and you will taste the real Taiwanese food. I had read few review about this cafe before this, therefore I decide to taste it on my own with my family ahead. Be honest at the same location, there were several cafe/restaurant opened and shut down in few months due to lack of customers. So, I wish to share this news to all of you, support the authentic Taiwanese food. For me, the food is well well above average.

Clean and simple decor in the cafe. Feel like a home!

Firstly, I saw their advertising thru FB for the Grand opening day long long ago. But, i was not free to catch this grand opening until today. Last, I visit here and have some view of this shop. The shop lot decor look simple and nice. Their decor are quite unique too, as not many of dessert shop have their own concept. They set a MRT station as their theme. Menu represent MRT station, Topping represent the destination. I like this decor and idea. For the dessert, I have nothing to said. But, is very good to have this in my lively hometown.

Self-services with alert bell, beside this they have their collection stamp ticket which RM5 spent for 1 stamp, 10 stamp in a ticket, can redeem for any 1 free dessert on menu.

I do believe their Bikkuri Philosophy, which they promise on Natural ingredients, Fully handmade, Fresh cooked everyday, No artificial Flavours, No artificial Coloring.

Last week, I was invited to attend this Little Creatures beer Media Launch. Firstly, I was thinking whether attend or not attend this event, because last week was busy rushing everything for Christmas. But I change my mind at very last minutes, to attend this beer launch. I was thinking why not for having myself relax a little while before get killed of my works. This time, was a smart choice. This beer would not disappointing me at all.. I love it very much..

Little Creatures is an Independent brewery, producing hand crafted beer of the highest quality from the finest ingredients while maintaining a unique, individual style and culture. The name arises from the live yeast that is present in the bottles of Little Creatures Pale Ale. This Yeast is affectionately known as the "little creatures" The brewery is located on Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle, a port city of eclectic cultural style and character.

Currently, they have imported two beer from Western Australia, Pale Ale and Bright Ale. By that, Pale Ale, its brew using Specialty Australian Malts and Cascade and Galaxy hop flowers from South/East Australia. Its full with intense floral, citrus aroma and flavour. Beside this, Pale Ale is live-yeast conditioned in bottles and kegs for unmatched freshness and character. From brewing to release, a batch of pale ale takes about six weeks. Its alcohol content is 5.2% Alc/Vol. This is what I taste it that night.

Bright Ale believe it will be on market by early of 2012. Basically, its using four malts in the grist including Pale, Caraplis, Wheat and Vienna. The 'lush' hop characteristic in "bright" however is derived fro the use of the highly aromatic NZ Motueka hops. It's called Bright Ale due to the clean filtering. Its alcohol content is 4.5% Alc/Vol, slightly lower than Pale Axe.
