DxO, purveyors of lens quality analysis and enhancement software, have published reviews of several older Nikkor primes lenses - specifically the 35mm f/2.0D, 28mm f/2.8D, and 20mm f/2.8D.
Tested on a D3x and other FX and DX cameras, these lenses may not quite keep up with the new kids on the block, but perform admirably at much, much lower prices.

Nikon Imaging have posted a range of samples from the new D800 and D800E DSLRs. The D800E images focus mainly on landscape with a single fashion image, as you might expect - it's obvious who Nikon are targeting with that variant.
