Our system involves just three main lists:

• People I trust: These are your main dudes and ladies, your closest friends. You’re only going to put 10-15 people on this one, max. My friend Will’s version of this list is named Inner Circle; mine is named True Blue. It’s the VIP list, so treat it accordingly — people have to earn their spots.
• People I don’t know well: Virtually everyone else you know goes on this list. It’s the one for friends from class, or the people you only see at parties, or friends of friends. Remember, you really don’t know that many people well — anyone you wouldn’t trust to keep those pictures of you on spring break in Mexico under wraps while you run for Congress goes on this list.
• Limited Profile: This is everyone you probably have to be friends with but that you don’t really want seeing your profile. Your boss, your little cousin, your mother. You’re going to lock this list down tight.

Afghanistan’s Taliban insurgents are training monkeys to use weapons to attack American troops, according to a recent report by a British-based media agency.

Reporters from the media agency spotted and took photos of a few “monkey soldiers” holding AK-47 rifles and Bren light machine guns in the Waziristan tribal region near the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The report and photos have been widely spread by media agencies and Web sites across the world.

NYTimes reports a string theorist and professor of physics at the University of Amsterdam, offers a new light on gravity.

But what if it’s (gravity) all an illusion, a sort of cosmic frill, or a side effect of something else going on at deeper levels of reality?

a 48-year-old German World War I vet named Adolf Dassler formally registered a new athletic shoe company. The company’s logo would be three diagonal stripes; the name, a combination of the founder’s nickname and the first syllable of his last name. Adi. Das. Dassler wasn’t new to this. He and his brother Rudi had been making footwear since 1924; they even laced Jesse Owens with shoes for the ’36 Olympics (which, incidentally, must have driven that other Adolf crazy). In 1947, the brothers split up. Rudi went on to form another athletic shoe company. Called it Puma.

Wifey and Me

Many of you know now – I got married (sorry singles ladies ) on 29th May 2010. We hired Darren Tan of MagicalShots to capture the moments. Here’s excerpt from his blog post. (Note: Italic emphasis are mine)

I was told this is a Northen Indian (Gujarati) wedding. However, they had the Sangeet (Garba) ceremony before the wedding day at Gujarawati Association (Gujarati Samaj) in Bangsar followed by their wedding ceremony the next day :-/. Even their wedding ceremony was different from the rest I’ve taken. So is this Indian or Sikh wedding?? (Gujurati) ..ahaha.. let me update you guys after I’ve clarified this with the lovely couple Nevertheless, I can tell you something for sure is that everyone enjoyed and danced their heart out during the Sangeet (Garba) ceremony without the influence of alcohol..not even a single sip B) Astonished eh? Perhaps that the meaning behind Sangeet (Garba) whereby everyone just dance and basically have a good time which will be a true blessings to the newly wed to see every of their guest being happy for their wedding

The wedding was super duper fun. Thanks to our families, relatives (flew all the way from Gujurat, India – 30 of them – and there were here for a month – phew!) & friends (who traveled all the way from Alor Setar & Penang for 2 days event) for organizing and participating in those events. The highlights of the wedding is definitely the Garba night – which is on the wedding-eve.

You will see me holding a sword. I do not know why I need to do so. I assume it is part of the Gujarati groom attire; even though according to one of my cousin-sister; “If your brother in law says something stupid – slaughter him with this sword!”

Fortunately, nothing like that happened.

First thing first – what is demat account ? According to Wikipedia,

The term Demat, in India, refers to a dematerialised account. For individual Indian citizens to trade in listed stocks or debentures. The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) requires the investor to maintain a Demat account. In a demat account shares and securities are held in electronic form instead of taking actual possession of certificates. A Demat Account is opened by the investor while registering with an investment broker (or sub broker). The Demat account number which is quoted for all transactions to enable electronic settlements of trades to take place.

So back to the original question.

The Bombay High Court will decide the issue after a religious trust filed a petition challenging the decision of National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) to refuse it permission for opening demat accounts in the names of five Hindu deities.

The deities of the Sangli-based trust “Ganpati Panchayatam Sansthan” are Lord Ganesh, Chintamaneshwardev, Chintamaneshwaridevi, Suryanarayandev and Laxminarayandev.
