Few days ago I traveled in India, in a train from Chennai to Bangalore, to attend a beautiful wedding and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Revive Nations (formerly known as SMMinistries).

As the train started to move, I suddenly felt alone, mainly because I did not have a connection in my mobile phone. That is when God reminded me of the verse in Joshua 1:5 ” …I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you, be strong and of good courage…”

What a relief to know that the King of Kings is always with us.

There are times when you may be afraid to be alone. You may feel as if you have been alone all your life, and you fight the feeling by adding people into your life. If you were wise, you would know that having people in your life or in your home doesn’t ensure that you will not be lonely.

The world we live is filled with pain, imperfections, betrayal and disappointments. Only one thing that can deliver us from all this is the love of Jesus.

He has promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

PURSUE ONLY JESUS!

Have you felt lonely in any circumstances in your life?

A few months ago my husband gifted me a mac-book pro. As I was exploring all the applications in the computer, I came across an application called FaceTime. The name itself sounded interesting.

Through FaceTime we can communicate with anyone who has a FaceTime on their machine. But unlike Yahoo Messenger or Skype we don’t have an option to type or to voice chat. In FaceTime we can only see the person on the other end and talk with them.

The connection we gain through these video conversations are profound. We read each others expressions. We can see if they are are happy, sad or moody.

From the beginning facial communication is recorded in the Bible. In Gen 4:5 we see that Cain’s countenance fell and God saw that and asked him. Our faces are the communication link through which our relationships can be sustained.

Face to face communication is a valuable tool for building healthy relationships. Sadly this is what we are missing in our personal and spiritual life as well. Today we get very busy to take time to sit down and make time to fellowship. It’s important that we make a commitment to invest in our face to face relationships.

Switch off those TV’s or computers, talk to your family members face to face everyday. Share your feelings, your moods, and everything you go through. Look into their eyes. Let’s give our undivided attention to each other.

Next our most important personal contact is with God. He is the One we need to have “Face Time” the most. Numbers 6:24-26 says ” The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace“. And that happens when we seek His face.

We need God’s favor, His guidance, His providence, His face to shine on us, but the question is how much are we seeking His face as well?

Let’s be a generation who seek His face daily and going to Him in heartfelt prayer. Let’s seek His face by talking to Him on a daily basis.

Are you having a face time with the lover of your soul?

Two weeks ago as I was cleaning my house, I didn’t notice the soapy water which was on the floor. I slipped and had a great fall. I flew like spider man. I was alone in the house during that time. Though it was very painful I had to be brave and strong. I crawled out of the water and I was sure that my bones were broken.

But I kept telling ‘All is well’. I picked up the phone to call my husband and as soon as I heard his voice I became weak. I felt the pain and was crying Ouch! Ouch! Its paining. But praise God for His protection that none of my bones were broken.

Sometimes we go to God and cry out Ouch! Lord its paining.

Friends, physical pain is to the body what emotional pain is to the spirit. Physical pain warns you that something in your body is out of order and requires attention that you are not well. Emotional pain also points to an area where healing or restoration is needed.

Don’t ignore these signals and don’t let them control you. You need to be true to yourself. You need a place alone with God, to sit down, reflect and rectify what is going on in your life. It is important to come to a place of separation with God and decide to live on.

In Jonah 2:2, Jonah cries out to the Lord, “I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction and HE answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice. “

You can survive the loss of anything in life, but you cannot survive without God. He is the force that allows you to overcome everything, and His grace enables you to overcome the emotional pain. Check whether you still have bitterness over anything. Then, that is a sign that the healing process in you is not finished.

Let go into God’s hands and He will make you whole.

What emotional pain are you going through? Are you silently crying out Ouch! to the Lord?

In every phase of life we go through some kind of rejection. It may be from your parents, boss, friends or even colleagues. A child feels rejected when their parents are divorced. They feel more rejected when their parents get married again.

I have a student who is 15 years old now and going through rejection because his parents got married again. The truth is you can never find a person who is perfect and who can never disappoint you. The more expectations you have the more disappointments you will go through. Putting the thoughts of rejection in your mind is the trick the enemy uses to stop you from enjoying life. The more you entertain these thoughts the more you want to stay away from everyone. We live in a world filled with pain and imperfections. The only thing that will soothe and heal your pain is only Jesus.

One thing we have to know that people do fail, but thanks be to God, HE does not fail! Heb 13:5 says, “…For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you”. His unfailing love will enable you to overcome your thoughts of rejection. He loves you in spite of what He knows about you. He loves you in spite of all your failures. Hagar was rejected by her mistress Sarai but God met her in her state of rejection and guaranteed her that He will bless her. Receive HIS love and learn to become secure in HIM.

Don’t start building walls around yourself to protect you. These walls will put you in the prison of rejection. Trust in HIS unfailing love and He will heal you until you have no need to live in rejection. If you have spent all your life in rejection, have suffered from low self-esteem, or starved for attention and acceptance, you need to know that a real relationship with God will heal all this. You are precious in His sight. He will never reject you.

Psalm 94:18 (NLT) says, I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. To desire something is to want it with passion. Let’s desire to pursue Jesus with all our heart, strength, mind and soul.

Question: Have you been through any rejection? How has God helped you come out it? Do share below.

We seldom see people praying passionately and desperately. People who pray this way have been stripped of their confidence in their self, their concern about the opinions of others and their pride. Hannah was a women who prayed like this. When she came to the temple and poured out all her frustrations, she appeared drunk. Even the priest did not recognize the passionate and desperate prayer. (1 Samuel 1:12-14)

Last week I was going through the same situation. I had no other choice except to look to God for an answer.

When a prayer is made passionately and desperately we can see the answer immediately. It doesn’t matter what kind of mountains you face. You just have to talk to God about them. By faith without doubt we can move them. When options run out, our faith will grow. Faith rises to the peak when there are no alternatives, when you must look to your only source, that is God to do the impossible. Your situation is a privilege for you to experience a deeper realm of miracle working power.

Lay aside everything that could take you away from HIS presence. You may have to deal some issues you have not wanted to confront. Do it anyway. You can’t afford any barriers to your prayers. Remove the spirit of heaviness from your shoulder and start praising Him with all your heart. Let His presence and His words calm you down. Let’s present ourselves as a living sacrifice offered on the altar in a passionate and desperate prayer.

Let’s pray like Nehemiah prayed. Neh 1:4 “…when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

Have you ever prayed like this? What was the result of your prayers?

God has made you exactly the person He wants you to be. He has made you beautiful in His eyes and crowned you with glory and honor. (Psalms 8:4-5) I was so encouraged reading this verse. Two days ago I was talking with a girl who was so upset by the way she looks. She was blaming God for who she is. Because of this she started dressing in a way that she can attract others. :(

Be happy with how God has created you. Don’t try to change just because someone else didn’t like the way you look. The Bible says “I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works” Psalms 139:14. Another person can never make you to be as good as what God has made.

You must develop within yourself the tenacity to disagree with those who feel differently about you than you do. Take the position and say calmly, “you have your opinion, but I also have mine. I like myself, I value myself, and I know God does, too”. Tell them, ” excuse me, I choose to agree with what God has said about me!”
Its not worth worrying about other peoples opinion. Stay focused on God alone. The more time we spend gazing upon His beauty, His face will shine upon you. Psalms 34:5 says ” They looked to Him and were radiant.
Wholeness comes to you when you turn to Him in your weakness, your pain, your suffering, and allow Him to do for you what no one else can do.

Have you been in this kind of situation and what was your reaction?

Have you noticed that men and women have different ways of expression. Women tend to be more expressive but men generally tend to use few words only. They prefer to stick to their computers, newspaper, tv or others.

In the first few years of our marriage we tend to learn each others way of communication. After which we take it a bit more easier. Sometimes we may say something but our spouse understands it in a different way leading to arguments.

The division in the language and communication began at the Tower of Babel. People struggled to understand and misunderstood each other. I personally believe that this confusion continues to be seen in families today.

As a women when you approach your husband for an issue try to find out if that would be the best time. Be sensitive to his needs or

whether if he is mentally or physically tired. Don’t go with a demanding attitude. Bible says “It is better to dwell in a corner of a rooftop than in a house shared with a contentious woman” (Prov 25:24) You will never be able to win a man with an argument.

It is important that you bring God’s language into your life. His language is the Word of God. It says in Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” If we follow this instruction it will help us to be away from lot of problems and confusions.

By Faith involve God into every situations in your life. He will change your Tower of Babel into a Pentecost experience where people spoke one language in one accord. At Pentecost everyone understood the message in his own language.

There in God, we will enjoy the peace of God in our lives. I hope, pray and desire that the language of God will change every family and bring each one of us deeper in knowing HIM.

Shalom.

God has blessed me with a beautiful daughter. Very seldom I see tears in her eyes. She is a very strong girl. But few weeks ago when I was confronting her about something, and I saw tears on her eyes. That melted my heart and I immediately changed my tone of speech to her.If I being evil, can be moved by my daughter’s tears, how much more my Father in heaven will be moved.

When Mary saw Jesus, she cried over the death of her brother Lazarus. Jesus who knew that Lazarus is going to be resurrected wept with Mary. He wept not because of Lazarus death, but because He was moved to see Mary in tears. He is such a compassionate God. (John 11:35)

Do you want to see God move in your life? Then touch God with your passion, your feelings by getting up in the middle of the night pacing the floor with your tears that flow like a flood with groaning.

God is looking for a prayer that comes up out of your emotions. He is not moved by what you need, He is moved by your feelings that comes with your faith. He is moved by your feeling that comes out of conviction.

Tears are for both men and women. So put the flame of feeling to the fragrance of your prayer and keep crying out to God.

In Psalm 56:8 it says, “He puts your tears in His bottle” Are you crying out to God for your future, your marriage, your job, your family, your healing or any other miracle? Remember that not a single drop of tear will go to waste. Ps 126:5 says “Those who sow in tears will reap in joy”

So don’t let your feelings die for any reason. Keep it burning for God to move in your life.

God bless you

2010 had been one of the most blessed years in my life. I started the year by telling God that I want to stay focused and pursue HIM alone. I want to enjoy your presence every minute in my life. Did that happen? Yes, to some extent I was able to enjoy my resolution. Many of us start our New Year with lot of resolutions. But when we look back did we really fulfill all of them. We might say that “I really mean it this year” but what happens on the way?

On the way we see many distractions, obstacles, hindrances, problems that come to destroy our walk with the Lord. Psalms 66:12 says “…we went through fire and through water, But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.” Hold on to this word of God. What ever situation you are in God will bring you out to rich fulfillment. By God’s rich grace you have the power to stay focused on God. Don’t forfeit or drop your resolutions. You can change your situation whenever you realize that you are going off track. Always remember God’s plans are good in our life. He is committed to see us through. Phil 1:6 says “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”.

Isn’t he committed to see us through the end? So be confident in the Lord. It doesn’t matter what goes wrong around you but be sure that God will finish it for you. God is committed to build your future, career, finance, health, marriage and much more. Did God start something in you? I promise you HE will never leave it and go. In Ps 138:8 David says like this, “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me”. The key is having a relationship with HIM.

I pray that as you end this year and enter into a new year all the darkness will roll back from every issue in your life, like clouds being pushed across the sky by a strong wind. Our God can do that for you. He will bring you grace. He will watch over you.

Psalms 59:16 “But I will sing of your power, Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning. For You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.”

Wishing you all a blessed and prosperous New Year.
