Hey lovelies :)

I wore this to campus on Monday. It was a gloomy day and I couldn't wait to wear this sweater that I bought on Saturday. I thought that it would look cute with these brogues, after seeing all of the pastel outfits on lookbook nowadays. Of course, I couldn't resist not wearing my new necklace from Sass Diva. I just love their necklaces so much!

I am EXHAUSTED. Teaching really is a lot of work, and even just talking for 6 periods every day puts such a strain on my throat. I definitely first have to get used to it.

We're on the home stretch toward the weekend, so make the most of it! :)

This blazer is obviously not Chanel, but everyone that sees it, says that it reminds them of the brand. I've been wearing it to school a lot, since I think it adds a touch of elegance.

Also, I've been more attracted to simple outfits nowadays. You can probably see it in my posts: I wear simple outfits but add some statement accessories, like this necklace and bag.

I'm also LOVING pastels nowadays!

Hey babes!
This is just a quick post to show you this amazing necklace that I bought from Sass Diva yesterday. It's part of their "Colour Block" range, and I am in love with the gold panels and the dark blue detail. It's amazing!

I must admit, I am quite chuffed with the size of my statement necklace collection. Most of them are from Sass Diva (naturally). It just impresses me how one necklace can make such a big difference to an entire outfit.

Anyway, I will be posting an outfit from last weekend tomorrow.

I'm sorry, but it's so versatile. And I would like to remind you of the frequency (or lack thereof) of my outfit posts. I therefore don't wear this shirt quite as often as it seems.

Also, I am so sorry for my lack of posts. Being a teacher is much harder work than I had anticipated, and it requires a completely different wardrobe than what I'm used to. I'm still trying to make workwear stylish and extremely comfortable at the same time.

Anywho, I still love you and miss blogging terribly. I hope you miss my posts, too.

Hello babes!
So it's my 22nd birthday today. Now I am officially a grown-up. Everyone says that you are an adult when you turn 21, but to me it always sounded more like you're supposed to party all year long.

Anyway, I had a good day. One of my classes sang happy birthday to me (33 kids!) and everyone was very nice to me all day, lol. I also got some money and an amazingly beautiful amethyst ring for my birthday. Remember, I got those leopard print shoes early!

This turquoise necklace is the last piece that I got on the 4 for R100 promotion last week, and it is so gorgeous. I think that it looked great paired with this black sheer top, since the black and blue made a good contrast. I am really into these types of shirts nowadays, since I can pair them with any bottoms, and I can wear them to any occasion, and I can also glam them up with one of my many amazing Sass Diva statement necklaces.

Well, I have to register for my last year tomorrow, so I'd better get to bed.

These shoes and my jewellery are more of the purchases that I made this past week. Rage is making a lot of shoes that look like Jeffrey Campbell's, like these that look a lot like Lita's. Of course I will never be able to afford the real thing, so I'm quite happy with these. And this necklace is too gorgeous! I found it at Sass Diva, also as part of the "4 for R100" promotion. So stoked!

I'm turning 22 on Wednesday, so I'm hoping that I will have a good day. I promise to post an outfit that day!

Hello lovelies :)
At the end of a very long, very busy week, I was able to snap these photos. In the rain, might I add. It's been raining non-stop for the past 3 days, and I am now quite sick of it.

Anyway, you all know that I am a huge fan of Sass Diva. I bought this gorgeous leaf necklace there yesterday, and it is actually a true love story. I saw it a few months ago already, but had other obligations and couldn't buy it. Every time I went into the store, I stared at it and wished that I could somehow have it. Then, yesterday, I saw that it was the last one in store, and a part of their "4 for R100" promotion! So instead of paying R145 for it, I got this necklace, along with 2 other statement necklaces and the ring that I'm wearing here, for R100!
I actually saved a total of R545. Ladies, if you can get to a Sass Diva store this weekend, I highly recommend their statement necklaces. They have so many, I always leave wanting more!

I'm off, it's Riekus' birthday tomorrow, so we're going to have a big party.

Hello lovelies :)

I'm sorry for being such a terrible blogger! My schedule is just so busy nowadays. I'm at school until 2 o'clock every day, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I give extra classes until 3 o'clock, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I assist with hockey coaching in the evenings. That, together with working every weekend and preparing for my classes, leaves me with almost no time for gym, socialising or blogging.

Anyway, now that you've read my excuses, this post is dedicated to the 5 outfits that I actually managed to blog about in January. Which is your favourite?

Hey lovelies :)

How are you all doing? I'm great, enjoying my practical so far and I'm quite excited about a new project that I'm thinking of doing, called "Blogger on a Budget".

Since I am on such a tight budget, I am forced more and more to be creative when I put outfits together. Like this one, I took a white top that I wear with shorts and jeans all the time and layered it over my old lace dress that I've worn on the blog many times before.
And voila!

It looks like a brand new dress. By the way, who else loves loose-fitting, floaty dresses in summer? I've found that it makes me seem much chubbier than what I am, but it's so cool and romantic. Paired with girly heels and a flower crown, I think it makes for a perfect summer outfit.

And I love wearing rings together that clash completely, like these two treasures from Sass Diva. I've found that they always have the most interesting rings, and I have quite a few. You can expect to see many more unexpected jewellery pairings soon!

Hello lovelies :)

This is what I wore out for drinks with some friends on Friday night, and I must admit, I felt so much more comfortable than I normally do when we go out. I always have to take care that my dresses don't move up or that my heels don't fall out or slip. This outfit, however, was so practical. The romper is super easy to wear and these heels are my ultimate favourites.

I used two accessories in this outfit that wouldn't normally go together, but I think it worked. This chunky ring is from Sass Diva, and I got the necklace for Christmas. You would think that the ring is too bulky and difficult to wear, but actually it's so light and comfortable. Yay for Sass Diva! And I am so chuffed with my gran for buying me the necklace, it really is a classic piece that I can wear with so many different outfits.

Marizaan and I played around with the light in these photographs a bit, trying to find good lighting, and some new settings. I am really going to try to kick the quality of photos up a gear this year, so I would love any feedback that any of you might have.

I'm going back to school tomorrow to start my practical, so please think of me! Also, it is my dad and my brother's birthday today, and we went to ride CAMELS today. Yes, camels. I was terrified, because they are so much bigger than I had thought, but it was a lot of fun.

So this is my first outfit post of 2012. What do you guys think? I'm still quite new to the whole colour blocking trend, because I've never had a lot of solid colour pieces in my wardrobe.

At the moment I am freaking out (just a little bit) about Monday. I am starting my practical year at my old high school. It's going to be a completely new experience, so I suppose it's natural to be nervous, but at the same time I'm really looking forward to it.

2011 in 20 photos

2011 was an eventful year. As I was thinking back today, trying to figure out what I wanted this post to be about, I was faced with two options. Either I kept this post purely fashion-related, focusing only on my outfits and the development of my blog over the year, or I could make it more personal. I decided to go with the latter. I put together these 20 photographs, as they describe my year in the greatest detail. Those of you who have been following me for a while now would have seen some of these photos, but not all of them.

Lots of you know that I lost my cat to liver failure last year in September. On the 3rd of January it would have been his 14th birthday, and I still miss him so much. I was devastated for almost three months after his passing, and I must admit, I still cry about him very often. Losing him was definitely one of the most trying events in my life, and I don't think I will ever quite get over it, but at the moment I'm trying to focus on the good memories that I have of him. Believe me, there are a lot. He was an angel, and I'm sure that he still is.

In 2011, this little guy came into our lives. His name is Noah, and he is 6 months old now. He is my cousin, and they live in Cape Town, so we don't see them often, but they came to visit over Christmas, and I bonded with him a bit. He is too adorable! A true blessing for the whole family.

I joined the gym at the end of 2010, and even though I didn't go much during the past year, I still managed to lose 6 kilograms. I still have a long way to go, but I've managed to make exercising a part of my routine, so it's not such a hassle anymore. Plus my best friend has also joined, so we can go together when Riekus isn't in town :)
This is what I looked like right before joining the gym, and the following photographs are all of recent outfit posts, just to show you the difference. A bit of a "before-and-after" :)

Riekus reached new heights in his golfing career in 2011. He won a big tournament, was awarded the President's Putter award for the second year in a row, and he received his Sunshine Tour Card. He is officially a professional golfer from today, and he is playing his first two tournaments in the next two weeks. I am so proud of him, and he really deserves to be successful because he works extremely hard.

We got a dog in 2011. Isn't she adorable? Her name is Steffie, and she has such a lovely personality. Everyone in the family adores her, because she is just the cutest little thing.

Riekus also got a dog, this little fireball. I call her that because she is extremely busy, all the time. Her name is Duchess :)

I was lucky enough to reconnect with many old friends of mine during 2011. I ran into some of them randomly, and went to a lot of trouble to see some others, but it was all worth it.

So, I hope this post gave you an insight into what my life has been like over the past 12 months. I can only wish that the next 12 will deliver as many memories.

COLOUR BLOCKED CLUTCH

Hey lovelies :)
Firstly, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
I hope you all had an amazing time :) I sure did, I spent it with family and we ate way too much. Which is one of our Christmas traditions :)

Secondly, how adorable is this clutch??? I'm so impressed with Mr Price for making it, it is just the cutest thing ever. Definitely my favourite bag at the moment. Plus this slouchy top is amazing, so comfy and I think it's really stylish how it goes off my one shoulder a bit.

Also, I forgot to tell you guys, but I got my results back. I finally got distinctions for all of my subjects this year! I'm so excited :) This year was terribly busy, I really worked so hard and I actually felt like I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown multiple times. I also lost my cat this year, which really hurt so much, and I'm still not quite over it, so I'm really happy that I was able to do so well.
My best mark was for Linear Algebra, 98% :)
Then I also got 91% for Accounting, which was a total shocker because it was a TERRIBLE exam paper.

He has the biggest blue eyes, and he is just adorable.

AGE OF INNOCENCE

Hey lovelies :)

Sorry for the delay in posts, but this week has been really busy so far! A lot of fun, though, so I'm not complaining.

Anyway, whenever I wear this cropped t-shirt, I wanna dress like a little kid. I don't know if it's the cut or the print, but it makes me feel young again. And this leopard print romper is so comfy! I bought a one-shoulder brown leopard print romper from Mr Price as well on Sunday, you will see it in an outfit post soon :) It's a bit longer, so I can wear it in public. This romper is more for beach wear, over a bikini. I'm not quite comfortable with showing this much leg yet, apart from on the blog.

Also, I've been gyming quite hard this past week or so. I started day 1 of week 2 of my new training programme today, and it's a bit more advanced than the previous one, which I enjoy. I'm just worried about how I'm going to keep up going 5 days a week once classes start next year.

Just in case I don't post before Saturday: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I hope all of you have a wonderful time with friends and family, and if you're spending Christmas alone, enjoy the me-time.

Riekus played in the Ernie Els Invitational this week, and he came fourth! It's such a great start to his professional career, and I am super proud of him.

Some photos of what I wore to the event on the last night. It was great, there were lots of celebs there and we made some new friends. Prime Circle also performed, which we didn't even know of before the time, and they are just so amazing live.

Hello lovelies :)

So this is the first time in probably forever that I have worn a tight-fitting dress like this, and I am so proud of myself.
As many of you know, my body is not that of a typical fashion blogger. I have lovehandles, a tummy, and my thighs are not as toned as I would like. I joined the gym a year ago, and I was really motivated at the beginning, but as soon as classes started, it got more difficult for me to get there and to fit it into my schedule, so for long, I didn't work out at all.

I started running 2 months ago, but then I developed shin splints and hurt my ankle, so I was away from working out for a month again. I really enjoy running, but I think my body isn't ready for it yet, so I'm going to start a new programme tomorrow.
Anyway, I made small lifestyle changes, like cutting down on coffee, not eating sugar on my cereal in the mornings, and switching from white to wholewheat bread. Because of this, I've lost 4kg's in the past 3 months, and I still eat sweets and snacks very often. I think it's much healthier to lose weight slowly, and also easier to keep it off that way.

So this dress is a bit of a reward for me. I still had to suck everything in when I took the photo, but I definitely wouldn't have been able to look like this at the beginning of the year.

Plus, isn't this pendant amazing? I bought it a few months ago from Sass Diva, but I still love it. It's so dainty and detailed. My biggest wish would be to get sponsored by Sass Diva and Mr Price, haha, a girl can dream, right?

Strawberry Farm

Hey lovelies :)
My oldest friend and I went to the local strawberry farm the other day, and we had a ball! Marizaan and I are such total weirdos when we're together, and I just love that we can really be ourselves when we are together.

We picked our own strawberries, and they were so sweet! I just loved it. We had so much fun :)

There were some scarecrows at the farm, all of which were made by children at a local primary school. This last one seriously freaked me out, lol, doesn't it look like something out of a horror movie?

What we ate: crumpets with strawberries and cream. I actually have a super craving for this right now!
