FOOD REVIEW - Pad Thai

We went to Bangkok last February, and it was a memorable trip. Why? Well, aside from all the fun we had, we also had to wait 12 hours in the airport for our flight back! Good thing we had a delicious Thai lunch to keep us going. I ordered Pad Thai. I once tasted this dish in one of our cooking classes before, and it was goood! But eating it in Thailand, it wasn't that good. I don't know, maybe it was just the restaurant's cooking. It was too sweet for my taste. Very far from the Pad Thai I tasted before. I guess I should rethink this one. Unless I taste another version that I like better, I think I'll just be giving this one 2 stars. :)

FOOD REVIEW - Jollibee Crispy Chicken Burger

I love Jollibee's Crispy Chicken Burger. This is one of my favorite things to order when I eat at Jollibee. The chicken fillet is great tasting, and it has just the right amount of mayo dressing for my taste. Of course, I take out the lettuce first before eating, but the point is, it's a snack that I enjoy having. Love the bun, too! I give this a 4 out of 5 food review star rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Shirley Temple

I don't drink alcoholic drinks, so when we go out, it's either iced tea for me, or some other drink, as long as it doesn't contain any alcohol. At times when I get tired of iced tea, I order a ladies' drink like Shirley Temple. The good thing about it is that it doesn't have alcohol, and it tastes sweet. At least I could take a break from iced tea with it. It's a refreshing drink, I love it especially if it's really cold. It's fruity and light, and has a beautiful clear red color too. I give this one a 3 out of 5 food review star rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Shakey's Chicken Meal

Today's food review is just a simple chicken meal from Shakey's. This is my lunch for today. I wanted to have a heavier meal, but since I'm trying to cut back, I ordered this instead. The chicken piece looks really small, but it was enough for me. It tasted good, crunchy and juicy. So I can say that Shakey's does have good chicken aside from their delicious pizzas. I had to order extra gravy, coz you know me, I love gravy. I even mix it with my rice. Hehe. Anyway, I give this meal a 3 out of 5.

FOOD REVIEW - Berry Knots

You might say I'm a kid for liking pretzels, but I can't resist Berry Knots. It's strawberry cream coated pretzels that smell well and taste delicious. This snack comes in 3 flavors, I think. Choco, Milk, and Strawberry, but I like Strawberry best. It smells absolutely delicious. It's a good dessert after a meal or simply something to munch on. Four stars for the food review!

FOOD REVIEW - Emilion's International Buffet

It's been over a week since I last did a food review, been so busy, I barely have time to eat out, let alone do a food review. Anyway, since I'm here, I'd like to share what we had for dinner last night. We went to a hotel that had this international buffet, and we decided to try it out. The menu was great! I loved every dish they had to offer.

This plate consists of some garlic rice, lasagna, pork kebabs, beef stroganoff, and fish fillet. The food was awesome! We used to go there for their japanese buffet, but I think I like the international buffet better. I had 3 helpings of the main course, talk about a huge appetite. LOL. Looks delicious, ain't it?

FOOD REVIEW - Messe's Rosemary Chicken

For my next food review, We checked out another restaurant called Messe, because it's known for their great tasting bread. It was my first time there, and I didn't know what to order so I just based my order on how the name of the meal sounded. After a few minutes perusing the menu, I finally settled on some Rosemary Chicken. I have to say I didn't enjoy the meal that much. The chicken was bland and I wasn't too crazy about the sauce either. Of course, I didn't touch the onion rings that came along with it. But I did finish off the whole meal, though I didn't particularly liked it. I wish I ordered a different meal instead. But it's okay... at least now I know that dish is not that good.

We went back to Dulgies, and I ordered this drink called Pink Chocolate. I liked the name, it sounded yummy. And true to it's yummy name, the drink was delicious. It was candy sweet, with a little chocolatey taste. It's topped with whipped cream, candy sprinkles, and milky strips. I loved it, coz it was refreshing, minty, sweet, all at the same time! My friend said it was too sweet for her taste, but it was just right for me. It was a little expensive, but it was worth it. Food review rating of 4 stars.

FOOD REVIEW - Shakey's Supper Platter Meal

We ate lunch at Shakey's and I was so hungry I ordered the Super Platter Meal. It consisted of 2 slices of pizza, 1 small serving of spaghetti, vegetable salad, 1 pc fried chicken, 2 pcs mojo potatoes, and 1 raisin brownie for dessert. Talk about a huge appetite! Hehe. I didn't touch the salad of course, I gave it to my friend instead. But the rest of the food is yummy, and it was very filling. I liked the taste of spaghetti, and the chicken was great too. Pizza was just so-so, and as for the dessert, I don't really like raisins so I picked them out before eating the brownie. LOL. I had a big lunch, and I was very full after I finished the plate. If lunch was this heavy everyday, I would get fat easily. Haha.

FOOD REVIEW - G-Mix 5-in-1 Snacks

Another junk food review! This is the latest junk food I've tried, it's called G-Mix and it's unique because instead of just one type of chips, it has five! You have corn chips, circle puffs, cheese sticks, cheese curls, and grain chips all in one pack! So there's something for every preference.

Currently, it only has the cheddar cheese flavor available, but I hope they would manufacture barbeque flavored chips. That's the flavor I love most in chips. Or maybe hot and spicy ones. Hehe. But I did enjoy this snack, mainly because it has different kinds of chips, and that alone is interesting enough for my taste buds. LOL. With that, I'll give this a food review rating of 3 stars.

FOOD REVIEW - Rice In A Box

There's this little stall in the mall that I come back to often, they sell Rice In A Box. I passed by there this morning, so I thought I'd do this for my food review. Actually, I'm not really the kind of person who eats so much rice in a meal, but I do like their product. They cook their rice with soy sauce, scrambled egg squares, salt, corn kernels, carrots, and a choice of toppings (pork, chicken, seafood, beef, ham & chorizo, and sisig). I don't let them put carrots in my order because I don't like carrots.

I usually buy chicken or pork, but it depends on my mood. It's a very filling snack, sometimes this is what I have for lunch in the office. It's tasty especially if it's spicy hot (I usually request extra hot sauce in my rice). For the food review rating, I give this 4 out of 5.

FOOD REVIEW - Blueberry Cheesecake

We went back this afternoon to this little cafe called Dulgies, and I ordered their Blueberry Cheesecake for my next food review. Actually, I don't like blueberries by themselves, but I love blueberry flavored cakes, ice creams, and bread. So with this cake, I could say that it's a cheesecake at its best.

The texture of the cake was so soft and it was deliciously buttery. The blueberries tasted good too. My favorite part was the graham layer at the the bottom (I love cakes that have 'em). Anyway, I already took a small bite when I remembered I should take a pic. Hehe. Three out of five for the food review rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Spaghetti Al Monsignore

Pasta, anyone? It's been a while since I had pasta for my food review, so I thought I might as well try this dish. Actually, Spaghetti Al Monsignore was my friend's order. It's from Bavaria, the German restaurant we visited a few days ago. It's white sauce spaghetti, and you know me, I don't like white sauce, but I tasted it nevertheless. Just as I expected, I didn't like it one bit. That's just because I don't like pasta with white sauce. I just don't like 'em. It was creamy and flavorful, but I can't stand the distinct flavor of the white sauce. I prefer tomato sauce in my pasta. But anyway, I think if you like white sauce, you'll love this dish. So for my own personal food review rating, I give it 1 out of 5 stars. Pretty harsh, huh? Hehe.

FOOD REVIEW - Mango Tango

It's been a really good day for me, so I thought I'd treat my family to dinner. Food review time! We ate at Emilion Restaurant and I ordered this cool refreshing drink called Mango Tango. I was craving for shake, and it sounded delicious, so I said I might as well try it. Doesn't it look nice? It was tangy and sweet, not your typical mango shake... coz it had a distinct flavor, but I just can't quite put my finger on it. It was flavorful and perfectly blended, giving that smooth and tasty slurp. It was a good drink, I'm glad I tried it.

Four stars out of five for the food review rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Bavaria's Special Baby Back Ribs

Time for another German food review. We went back to Bavaria and ordered their special Baby Back Ribs. I don't know what it is about back ribs that's just so appealing, maybe the name? The name baby back ribs just has a distinct sound to it, that makes my mouth water. Hehe.

Anyway, the dish was succulent. It was juicy and well marinated. The meat was very soft too, just the way I like it. The barbecue sauce was yummy as well. It was worth the price, I think. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for the food review.

FOOD REVIEW - Dark Choco-based Brownie Frappe

We hung out at Coffeebreak again, so I thought for my next food review, we'd have another choco drink. In total, I've already done 3 food reviews (including this one) for Coffeebreak beverages. This one is called Dark Choco based Brownie Frappe. What can I say, I love frappes. But I wanted to deviate from my usual Rocky Road Frappe, so I tried something else.

Hmmm... I guess it was okay. Tastes like Dark Chocolate. Hehe. I'm not really that fond of dark chocolate actually... but I find them refreshing from time to time. This drink was smooth and creamy, loved the whipped cream and the brownie topping. For the food review rating, I think I'll give this a 3 out of 5 star rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Grilled Pork Chops

Last night, my friend treated me to some German food in a restaurant called Bavaria. I looked over the menu, and I told him I wanted to have Grilled Pork Chops for my next food review. So we ordered this dish of Grilled Pork Chops on mashed potatoes with gravy and caramelized apple slices. Look closely, doesn't it look saucy and delicious?

Yeah, it does look yummy. But I didn't like it very much. It was a little too bland for my taste. Well, it's my first time to eat in a German restaurant, so I don't really know what to expect from German cuisine. But yeah, the chops were a bit bland, and I just wish it had a little more salt or spice to it. For the mashed potatoes, I tasted a bit of it, but I'm not really fond of mashed potatoes so I let my friend eat them instead. Hehe. For the overall food review, I give this dish a 3 out of 5 star rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Cheezy Bacon Pizza

It's been a while since I had pizza so for my food review today, let's have Pizza Hut's Cheezy Bacon Pizza. I got a craving for pizza this afternoon so I bought 2 slices of pizza from Pizza Hut. I love pizza, but I don't eat it very often because of all the obvious reasons. It's rich in fat and oozing with calories. So I only eat very sparingly. The Cheezy Bacon was delicious.

It was a very filling snack, so cheesy! I especially loved the bacon and I was satisfied with the price and quantity. Very nice food review, I give it 4 out of 5 star rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Club Sandwich

It's been 2 days since I did a food review, coz I didn't have time to go out and do some tasting. But this afternoon we went to JD Roadhouse and we ate there, so it's time for another food review. I ordered a Club Sandwich, because I wanted to have something grilled and filling. The sandwich was really good, it had ham, bacon, egg, chicken, lettuce, mayonnaise and tomatoes. Of course, since I hate vegetables, I got rid of the lettuce and tomatoes before I ate the whole thing. Hehe. But look at the egg and chicken mayo... yummy, it was really tasty.

The only thing I didn't like was eating it with my hands in front of a lot of people in the restaurant. The sandwich was so big for my mouth that it was difficult to take one huge bite. I was worried other people might think I have no poise. Hahaha. So I took little bites instead. But it was a good snack! Four stars out of five for the food review rating.

FOOD REVIEW - Piattos Sour Cream & Onion

For the food review today, let's have junk food this time. I love junk food, I know it's not healthy (that's why it's called junk), but I love it. One of my favorite chips ever is Piattos Sour Cream & Onion. There are lots of snacks that have this flavor, but I like Piattos best. There's just something about it that is somewhat addictive. Don't get me wrong, sometimes, it can be boring after I've consumed a pack, but the thing is, I always get back to it time and again.

It's best to eat when watching TV, a movie, or even while reading a book. Very nice snack. What do you think of it? Me, I'll give it 4 stars out of 5 for the food review rating.

Goldilocks Siomai

FOOD REVIEW - Goldilocks Siomai

Time for another food review! I was in Goldilocks last night to buy some pastries, but this caught my attention instead. I love dimsum foods, especially siomai. So when I saw the siomai in display, I didn't hesitate. I had to try it. One serving consists of 4 pieces of siomai. So I bought 2 servings.

I tried one, and... I loved it! The only siomai I've ever really liked was the one from Chowking. But Goldilocks Siomai definitely rivals it. It's meaty and pleasant to the taste. Of course, the sauce is a big factor. Theirs was chili sauce, similar to Chowking's (though I like Chowking's better). Siomai is never the same without the chili sauce so that definitely adds extra points. I would have rated it just 4 stars for the food review without the chili sauce. But with the chili sauce, 5 stars! If you have a Goldilocks branch near you, try their siomai, it's really yummy.

FOOD REVIEW - Spicy Sausage Ragu

I was thinking what should I have for my next food review, because I didn't have time to go out lately. Luckily, we had dinner tonight in Afrique's. We ordered the Spicy Sausage Ragu Pasta. It was good, I think. I love penne pasta, so that's bonus points. But I like the taste, not so spicy though, I would have wanted it to be more spicy, nevertheless, it was okay. It had a rich and creamy tomato sauce (which I liked) and the sausages were a little sweet.

I was able to consume most of the dish, because my friends didn't want it, they had Carbonara instead (which I don't like), so I went home tonight with my stomach full. Another good food review, I should say.

FOOD REVIEW - Bigby's Eat All You Can Ribs & Chicken

A friend of ours treated us to an eat all you can session at Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant. You can have an unlimited servings of Rice, Fried Chicken and Rack-A-Bye Baby Back Ribs. So I thought this is perfect for my next food review.

It was a wonderful meal. I was so full by the end of the night, I consumed 3 pieces of ribs and 2 pieces of chicken. The ribs tasted great, and the barbeque sauce was yummy. The chicken was a bit dry, but tasted good nonetheless. The white gravy was good too. We had bottomless iced tea for our drinks. All in all, it was a very satisfying meal. Certainly, worth the money. I wanna treat my family next time. Food review rating: 5 stars, hands down.

FOOD REVIEW - Italian Sausage Spaghetti

I didn't eat anything for breakfast this morning, so I went to the local bakeshop, JD. I decided I want to try their new Italian Sausage Spaghetti. I waited for about 5 minutes for my take out order, and then I went to the office to eat the pasta there. Food review time! To be honest, I didn't like it very much, it was just ordinary for me. The name sounds delicious but the taste didn't quite live up to its name. Hehe. I particularly hated the meat balls. It didn't taste very good. And the sauce was so thin, it didn't even leave anything to the taste.

I wouldn't buy one again, that's for sure. I might as well stick to their Baked Macaroni. Tastes a lot better than this. Food review rating: 2 stars only.

FOOD REVIEW - Better Than Sex

We went out last night and we grabbed coffee at Coffee Break. I ordered my usual Rocky Road Frappe, and then for the cake, I ordered Better Than Sex. Perfect for another food review. The name sounds interesting, huh? Well, that was partly why I wanted to taste it. Hahaha. Just kidding. My friends told me it was delicious, so I tried it.

The verdict... it was good. Not the best cake I've tasted, but good nevertheless. Love the chocolate inside, but I wasn't so crazy about the icing. I've had better, actually. But it's creamy and mouth watering, and I'm sure some people will give this 5 stars, for me though, I'll give it just 4 stars. A high food review nonetheless.
