A web browser is the application you use to view websites.

How it works

Greater Interoperability for Windows Customers With HTML5 Video

Google recently announced that its Chrome web browser will stop supporting the H.264 video format. At Microsoft we respect that Windows customers want the best experience of the web including the ability to enjoy the widest range of content available on the Internet in H.264 format.

Today, as part of the interoperability bridges work we do on this team, we are making available the Windows Media Player HTML5 Extension for Chrome, which is an extension for Google Chrome to enable Windows 7 customers who use Chrome to continue to play H.264 video.

We believe that Windows customers should be able to play mainstream HTML5 video and, as we’ve described in previous posts, Internet Explorer 9 will support playback of H.264 video as well as VP8 video when the user has installed a VP8 codec.

If you find a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) driver speaking on a cellphone while driving the bus, click a photograph and upload it on the social networking site Facebook and earn a reward of Rs1,000.
After traffic police, the PMPML has also decided to use Facebook for improving their service. PMPML's public relation officer, Deepak Pardeshi, said the PMPML has created a Facebook account to give satisfactory service to commuters.
"One of the reasons for accidents is the use of cellphones while driving. The PMPML also received complaints that some of the drivers are using cellphones while driving," he said.
Earlier, the PMPML announced cash awards for citizens who will submit the photographs of PMPML buses which stopped on zebra crossing on the signals. But that time citizens needed go to PMPML office to submit the photograph.
"To avoid the inconvenience, the PMPML decided to use Facebook. All that a citizen has to do is click a photograph and upload it on the site," said Pardeshi.
They can upload the photograph on Facebook with essential details like the bus number, timing and the persons contact details. The PMPML will verify it and make necessary arrangements to give the award. The PMPML authorities also said that bus conductors do not return money to commuters if they do not have change. They ask them to collect the money from the PMPML depot. Commuters can also report such cases on Facebook.

Five Tips To Tighten Your Facebook Privacy Settings

Restrict your profile from appearing on search engines like Google:
Go to Account | Privacy Settings.
Click on Edit your settings under Applications and Websites.
Click on Edit settings for Public Search.
Uncheck the Enable public search option to refrain from appearing on search engines. If you allow public search, keep in mind that information you've opted to share with Everyone will appear in the public search as well.

Manage those you want to share your likes and interests with:

Go to Account | Privacy Settings.

Click on View settings under Basic directory settings.

Choose the appropriate option for See my interests and other Pages. If you set this option to Everyone and have made yourself publicaly searchable, your likes and interests will appear on search engine results as well.

Secure yourself from being tagged in embarrassing videos and photographs:

Go to Accounts | Privacy Settings.

Click on Customise settings under Sharing on Facebook.

Choose Customise under Things others share | Photos and videos I'm tagged in.

Choose specific people or a friends list. Alternatively choose Only me if you don't want your any of your friends to be notified when you are tagged in photos or videos posted by other people.

One click solution to secure your applicatons, games and websites privacy settings:

Go to Accounts | Privacy Settings.

Click on Edit your settings under Applications and websites.

Click on Turn off all platform applications under Applications you use. By doing this, you can block all application activities from communicating with and about you. No more annoying application and game requests. Your data will no longer be shared with applications on Facebook Platform even through friends. Instant personalisation will also get blocked.

Alternatively, carefully choose the settings under each sub section of Application and websites to manually manage how much information you want to share through various applications you use.

Avoid being a brand ambassador by appearing on social ads:

Go to Accounts | Account Settings.

Click on Facebook Adverts tab. Read and close the Understanding Social Ads dialogue box.

Choose No one under Allow adverts on platform pages to show my information to option and click Save changes. This will restrict third party applications or advertising networks from publishing your information on adverts.

Choose No one under Show my social actions in Facebook Adverts to and click Save changes to restrict Facebok Adverts from doing the same.

Many of us are guilty of constantly switching back to Gmail to check for new messages. And if you’re like me, you’ve probably missed an important chat message because you weren’t looking at your Gmail window when it came in. If you use Google Chrome, these days can be over since we just launched HTML5 desktop notifications which display pop-ups whenever a chat message or new email arrives.

To turn them on, click on the Settings link in the top right corner of Gmail and scroll down to the “Desktop Notifications” section. If you just want to get notified about chat messages, or if you use Priority Inbox and only want to get notifications for important messages, you can customize your settings from there too.

This functionality is currently only available for people using Google Chrome

The "i" stands for "internet" and the "g" stands for "grid".

The i version started from 8i onwards. It stands for oracle internet. Because till then (in version 8)it did not support data transfer over the internet. At that point of time use of internet was not widely used. Next was 9i with some of the enhanced features of 8i. Next was 10g, it stands for Oracle GRID,because it supports grid architecture.

10g is Oracle's grid computing product group including (among other things) a database management system (DBMS) and an application server. In addition to supporting grid computing features such as resource sharing and automatic load balancing, 10g products automate many database management tasks.

10g follows Oracle's 9i platform. Oracle says that the g (instead of the expectedi) in the name symbolizes the company's commitment to the grid model.

Firstly in the below image suppose you want to accept only integer numbers as id in the textbox next to ID label in the form from the user you can perform client side validations in the following way:

Work is being done to which will enable videoconferencing from HTML5 applications. It will allow the user to give permission to a page to use a device, such as a video camera. That will make possible for users to communicate with each other through a web conferencing from the browser itself. Until recently there was limited support for HTML5 specs but now we have chrome, firefox, opera and IE 9 supporting HTML5. Also there is support for Previous versions of IE through a plugin.

This part describes the way to implement procedure and cursor as well. I have together described cursor and procedure in a single example. What i have done is when you delete or update a record that record gets deleted from voter table and get inserted in to votertemp table.
In procedure what i have tried to do is the deleted record that is currently in votertemp gets deleted from votertemp table and gets inserted back to voter table as it was in its first instance

Oracle and VB 6.0 Connectivity (Part 2)

The first part defined how to establish connectivity between the back end and the front end of the project. Next we will see how to implement triggers.
Oracle
We need to Create the triggers in the oracle.

6) this will show a message as trigger created!
7) It should not show trigger created with compilation errors. If this message is shown check your syntax of trigger.

Visual Basic 6.0
In VB we do not have to do anything as triggers are automatically fired whenever an update or delete operation takes place. The admin can log in into the oracle and view the modifications including the old as well as new values from the voter and votertemp table.

We have successfully set up triggers in the Oracle Back End and when an user deletes or updates any record through the VB front end application the trigger gets fired. We will see procedures in the next part 3.

Oracle and VB 6.0 Connectivity (Part 1)

Here is a basic VB application called voter information system demonstrated which explains the concepts quite clearly. The first step required to establish connectivity is preparing the back end and the front end of the project. These steps are divided into two parts first the back end that is the oracle and front end that is the Visual Basic 6.0.

Oracle
Firstly we need to set up the database. Create the tables, triggers and procedures and database in the oracle.

These are simple to understand and work in. In one team for example, you are a core member. Colayer in your overview updates you about all content related to this team: Discussions, drafts, to-do, open tasks, agenda dates, set targets etc. The content comes in different forms: if two members chat together, you interest, you can see the details of it. In another project, you may be involved as a supervisor only. On your overview, only important content will appear: Final documents, decisions taken and milestones reached. Communication through the times page is faster and more effective than through email inboxes. Information is in context, spam free and consistent.
Writing a Wave is a lot like typing text into Gmail, Google Docs, or a blog posting form in one’s browser. To the left of the right-hand column featuring the discussion, there’s an in-box with other Waves. And to the left of that, there’s a navigation pane atop a list of contacts that looks very similar to Gmail’s layout. Unlike online forums or wikis, Waves reflect changes in more or less real time: You can see responses appear from Wave participants as the typing occurs, network latency permitting. There is, however, an option to show a reply only after all typing has been completed. Google Wave is a web-based collaboration tool that helps groups of people grow documents out of conversations. Google created Wave to alleviate problems that have plagued email for over 40 years. Google Wave combines some of the best features from modern web applications you already know and love—such as email, instant messenger, wiki's, and forums—into a single, hybrid interface. But it does not support exporting documents.
Colayer provides communications within context, not through disparate tools. The problem of today’s communication is that it mainly occurs within different tools. This leads to fragmentation of information and to multiple inconsistent copies of the same information. It does provide synchronous and asynchronous communication. Picture images, questionnaire,links, URLs, one to one, one to many, some to some and many to many people. Along with coming features of VoIP, Whiteboard and browser based Web conferencing making it altogether a very powerful alternative to Wave and making its own name on the web.
Email's Problems: Relative to the lifespan of most technology, email is ancient. Invented over 40 years ago, email predates the internet as we know it—and in fact was a crucial tool in the creation of the internet. Despite its age, email hasn't evolved much since the 1960s. Electronic mail is based on the paradigm of postal mail, a system of passing messages back and forth between senders and recipients. Wave makes a bet: surely there must be a better way to send, receive, preserve, and grow shared communiques than via email. Email is simple, widely popular, and works well—or else it wouldn't have stayed in such widespread use as long as it has. But email has serious drawbacks when used to manage a conversation within a group. Email propagates multiple copies and versions of messages. As soon as email is sent, the message's contents are locked in. You can only copy, paste, edit, and send on yet another copy of that message. As a result, email propagates copies of copies, storing each in a filing system of "boxes." There's no standard or easy way to embed rich content like maps, photo slide shows, or video clips in the body of an email. Email's answer for anything that's not text is "The Attachment" or rudimentary HTML. Whether it's a document, a photo, a video, a group survey, or a web page, email wasn't designed to incorporate interactivity or richness within the body of the message itself. You can attach a file or include a link to a web page inside an email message. However, long links can wrap and become unclickable, and they force the recipient to launch a web browser. Further, HTML email formatting isn't consistently supported across all email clients, and there are limitations to what you can include. It's not easy to privately respond to specific people within a group email. When you're engaged in a big group email thread, you might want to respond to a subset of the group privately. To do so via email, you have to compose yet another separate message, and manually edit the recipient list to make sure only the people you want to see the message are included on your private reply.
Colayer when started did say Email will be dead soon and takes care of all the problems that are faced by communication taking place through Emailing. With email, people work 'isolated' within their email inboxes. Information gets fragmented: within different email inboxes, and across different tools. Colayer provides a much simpler mechanism each time you log in it shows you all the conversation that took place since the last time you logged in and you can start any where at any point in a much organized manner helping you keep tracks of things you are simultaneously working on and most importantly on context driven information.
Wave will be missed mostly in fields of:

Colayer does not support a feature like that of the google docs however it server the rest of the needs of the respective users. Thus wave lacks several areas which the Colayer have taken care of such as:
1. Organize your contacts into groups.
2. Rearrange blips' vertical order in Wave. Expand and Collapse recent info in colayer.
3. Prevent someone you added as a participant form making the wave public, and thus exposing a potentially private conversation. Taken care of in Colayer.
4. Upload files. Available in Colayer.
5. Delete a private reply from within a wave. Taken care of in Colayer.
Wave and Colayer both provide the following features:

Colayer is a good alternative for Wave where it was the favourite for mostly:
Taking meeting notes: Instead of one person taking meeting minutes, or everyone in the room taking their own individual notes, a group of people can edit during a meeting.
Group brainstorming: Likewise, instead of individuals brainstorming ideas separately and then comparing notes, using a single wave gives a group the opportunity to work together and riff on each others ideas in real-time.
Multimedia chat sessions: Instant messenger doesn't usually allow chatters to include images, maps, and videos right inside their chat, and often there's no chat.
Upcoming Enhancements in Colayer:
