Web Design can be very complex for the simple fact that people don’t know whether to think of it as an art or a science. But you could be talking about the many fields of web design such as the design itself, the script running the site, the SSI’s (Server Sided Includes) and many other factors that go into today’s website design considerations.

There is no manual for the right way to make a specific website that would be detailed enough to make the perfect website. That’s why you need to design the site that’s perfect for you and your visitors. This is where some people believe that the concept of web design being an art comes in.
Website come in all colours, sizes and graphical intensities but the tips I would give is for your site to be aesthetically pleasing and easily navigable.

Then come the functions, such as the PHP Scripts, the Javascript and all the different web applications. Professionals believe this is where the science comes in because there’s a one way to do it because of the code required and cross-browser functionality. I’m not going to go way into all the details of the science of web design but I’m sure you egt the point.

Your website needs a balance between being graphically appropriate for the theme of your site as well as having the correct functions for your website visitors. For example for a personal blog, you would need a commenting system as well as a pinging system. But for a company website a simple 5 static pages will do because your visitors aren’t expecting to read through pages of content and have endless functions they will never use.

If you stick to this you should have no problem knowing when to apply science and when to apply art to your website.

In this article we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of buying from individual web designers, that will allow you to make an informed decision as to whether you would like to outsource your website design service form a large web design company or a small web design company or an individual web designer. This is part final article about web design companies (part 3/3).
The advantages of buying from individual web designers is that they are usually very cheap, and do unique work, while keeping up with web standard. Individual web designers are great value for money if you are making a simple company website. They usually try their best to be professional, but they are usually very personal with your website and can incorporate their own style to the website. They will also answer your questions relatively quickly. Small businesses and individual running home businesses will benefit from using individual web designers.
The disadvantages of using individual web designer sis that they can’t do big projects and will usually take a long time to complete projects since nobody else is working with them. Also you get a lot of individual web designers that sell templates that they have sold before to other clients, but won’t tell you. This is bad because it means somebody else has the exact same website as you, it could even be your competition, in which case, it is basically money wasted. This is because the internet is supposed to represent a brand image and if you don’t have this, you’ll be just like any other business out there and won’t have an individual brand image. This lessens the likeliness of customer repeating a purchase.
Individual web designers are ideal for small projects for small business or individual that may be running a home business.
I hope these articles have helped you make an informed decision as to which type of web Design Company to choose for your website.

This is part 2 of 3 about web design companies.

The advantages of buying from a small web design company are; that you will get a relatively personal and friendly service. The work will also usually be quite professional and quality. You are almost guaranteed a unique web design and not the standard website designs that we are all used to. They will make an effort to make your website ‘special’. These are good qualities because small web design companies like to vary their portfolio so they can reach larger markets in order to allow their business to grow. So, unlike large web design companies, they will provide a more unique service. Small web design companies are ideal for small businesses, medium sized businesses and large businesses alike, because they are professional and provide quality, unique work for a good brand identity. They are also usually quite affordable compared to large web design companies.

The disadvantages of buying form small web design companies are that you can’t expect the same service from one small web design company to another, so you will have do your research or have a recommendation to consider buying from them. Some small web design companies are very amateur and provide low quality work, but this can be identified by simply taking a glance at their portfolio.

Google Ensures:

Security

Fast Speeds

Stability

Individual Tabs

New Browser Technologies

Implementation with the Google Services

I think this is a great marketing strategy from google to get more people to use their service by allowing people to use a browser that subtly promotes their services, such as the Gmail integration and Google Maps integration. But Google says they are just trying to raise the standards for web browsers as they don’t believe web browsers have developed as much as web applications. They found a need within the Market, thus they were able to use one of the most basic principles of all types of business, demand and supply.

I think it’s a good move from google, but I also believe that other search engines need to take a page out of their book. Because i believe very soon google will have 95% of all searches if they keep bringing out these GREAT FREE services in order to gain more market share. Well let’s see how this goes.

I will be making a video review with this later this week, but I am very busy. Here are 2 short videos from google explaining how Google Chrome came to be and the 10 best features of it. Enjoy.

In this article we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of buying from large web design companies, that will allow you to make an informed decision as to whether you would like to outsource your website design service form a large web design company or a small web design company or an individual web designer. This is part 1 of 3 about big web design companies.

The advantages of buying from a large web design company are that the work will be completed quickly and efficiently. You will also receive a very professional service with little or no flaws. If you like this, then this option is probably suitable for you.

But before you make you decision let me first explain the disadvantages of using large web design companies. These are that they are usually quite expensive, sometime up to twice the price of smaller web design companies. Also your site is designed to look uniform, which you don’t want because, the web is meant to separate you from your competitors. If your site looks uniform then users will navigate away from your website and maybe to your competitor’s website, which you really don’t want after spending all that money getting a site made.

Let’s create a scenario, Bob searches for trainers on the internet, he sees lots of online stores that all look similar but don’t sell the trainers he likes. He comes across your site (that sells the trainers he likes), but he sees that your online store looks similar to the others so he assumes that you sell the same trainers (that he doesn’t like). Bob leaves your website and continues searching while you just lost a sale.

In the next article I will be explaining the advantages and disadvantages of small web design companies.

Google Pagerank, also known as PR or just PageRank is what google uses to determine the value of a certain web-page or website. PageRank is viewable in the green bar on the oogle toolbar for FireFox or Internet explorer. It gives your web-page that you are viewing a ranking from 0-10, 10 being the best and 0 being the worst. There is also a grey bar for sites that are banned from the Google index or that haven’t been indexed by google yet.

Here is a video of a guy that explains google PageRank pretty well:

Pay per click, also known as PPC within the Internet Marketing community is a method of getting targeted traffic to your website. You can take our a pay per click campaign in order to start getting traffic to a new product on your website or maybe a specific page on your website in order to capture leads or to make a sale. It really is up to you.

The reason pay per click is so important is that it is the fastest, easiest way to ever get targeted traffic. The advantages of pay per click is that if you do your keyword research correctly and plan a good campaign. You can get dirt cheap keywords that you ‘bid’ for, while making crazy conversions, in terms of sign ups or sales. I would recommend PPC if you need to promote a product quickly and you are willing to make a small investment.

The top PPC networks are:

Google Adwords

Yahoo Publisher Network

Miva

Overture

There has also been an article down at Site Pro News about the importance of Miva and other smaller PPC Networks

Recently, I have been receiving a lot of emails and reading forum posts about webmasters who are getting traffic to their websites but failing to monetize. This is every Internet marketer’s dream, having a lot of traffic and then choosing what to do with it.But these webmasters, built websites initially not for monetization but would like to start monetizing them. If your currently looking for ways to monetize your website and already have a steady source of traffic, then this article is for you. Even if you haven’t got the traffic, I would still advise you to read this to get an idea of what you should do when you do get the traffic.

5. Not staying active
There are too many webmasters out there that have successful websites in terms of traffic but find it hard to monetize this traffic. They then start spending so much time trying to monetize their website, that they start less content for their website and thus their site visitors decrease. Then they find that they have monetized their site but now have very little or no traffic. The tip here is to keep providing the great content to keep the visitors coming, while not totally neglecting monetizing your site. It is usually hard to find the balance and it may result in you spending more time working on your site.

4. Not using the right methods of monetization
There are so many ways of monetizing websites, but as a webmaster you must choose the right type for your specific website and the type that will produce the most revenue from your traffic. A few monetization methods include, but are not limited to CPA Networks, PPC Networks, Affiliate Networks & Online Stores. I recommend you do your research into which monetization method is right for your website and your visitors. If you have a website with a lot of free content about some sort of hobby then obviously PPC or Affiliate Marketing, would be the best way to go to keep things simple. I advise you to research the different types before coming to a conclusion

3.Coming with the hard sell
Too many poeple are doing this, and as an experienced Internet marketer, i can tell you that the hard sell is not the right way to monetize your website, on in particular advertiser; zango, should be avoided at all costs. Also refrain from using pop ups, all of these things make your site visitors resent your site and thus make a repeat visit unlikely. Stick to on page advertising that doesn’t distract you visitor too much from the actual content, contextual advertising usually works well and provides mutual benefits for you and your site visitors.

2.Trying to trick people
Chances are that the people visiting your website are educated and there are a lot of people getting more and more Internet savvy. They can tell when you’re lying or just being a salesman online. Please avoid doing this if you wish to make any money online while keeping your reputation high. Trying any sly marketing techniques will just ruin your reputation with your site visitors. Be open with your advertising, don’t try anything sneaky, people will generally trust you and your business if you are honest with them, while bearing in mind that some confidential things have to be kept private.

1.Lack Of commitment
I’ve seen this one to many a times in my career, people giving up after a week (sometimes less) of trying to monetize their site. The truth is that it’s going to take some time to find the right monetization method for your website because each website and each niche is different. You will have to do a lot of testing and put in the work, but it is totally worth it if you are interested in monetizing your website successfully and running an online home based business.

This list is based on my experience of working with clients. if you would like to contend this list or make your own, then leave a comment.
Good luck in your Internet Marketing efforts.

Creating high quality e-books, reports and Web Graphics can be a very lucrative business, but not everyone is cut out for the task. For instance, to create a high quality product, it takes a considerable amount of time, effort, patience and creativity.

Today’s top Internet marketer is constantly looking for new product and content to promote. His or her talents consist of the ability to write well and maintain organization. He knows how to spot high quality subject matter and he doesn’t mind taking time to do the research, as this type of research can be quite time consuming, especially when you are coming up with a product that will set you apart from the crowd.

The ability of the author to create and design e-book covers and graphics is equally as important, and will come in quite handy for the Internet marketer with somewhat of a creative mindset, but if there is no creative ability there at all, there’s still hope. With the right software, most anyone can still create very high quality web graphics, even the novice. Being able to design your own e-covers and web graphics with the right software can save you a ton of money in this business but there is one other thing to consider: You may be able to create a mediocre web site with no graphics and save yourself a little money, but is that going to be to your greater advantage in the long run? Remember, eye popping graphics are what draws the reader in, and web graphics are one of the first things that the potential buyer will see when your product is being promoted.

So, if your wanting to create your own web graphics, you can save yourself a ton of money, but you want to make sure that you have the right software to do it with, and that software needs to be easy for anyone to use. I prefer the software packages that come with step by step video tutorials on how to best use the product. (I’m a visual, hands-on type of learner).

In my humble opinion, I know that there are some folks out there that have extra cash and have no creative skills whatsoever, it may be better for that author to outsource his or her graphics to a web graphic designer. The downside to this is that paying someone to make your graphics for you every time you need them can get very pricey in a short amount of time. It’s better to have easy-to-use graphics software at your disposal.

I truly believe that by presenting high quality web graphics, along with your product promotion, you are ranking yourself as a high authority on the subject matter that you are selling.

Remember: first impressions make lasting memories. You surly don’t want to come off as a second rate salesman. You are an authority in your niche and do not hesitate to let everyone know it.

In Internet Marketing, we define a landing page as the first page somebody sees when they click on your ad or a link to your site. Usually the intention of these landing pages is to convert the visitor into a customer or to make them into a lead. this is known as a conversion.

Lets say you have a current PPC (Pay Per Click) campaign going on and maybe your ROI (Return On Investment), isn’t up to scratch you would have to optimise your landing page to better convert a visitor. But first you must make it clear what you want to do; generate a lead or make the sale. Personally i would advise you to try and generate a lead, because it is proven within the online marketing community that people do not usually purchase on the first visit. You must first gain the person’s trust.

In order to this you can make them sign up to your mailing list by having an opt-in form on your landing page. But whichever type you choose your landing page must have:

A definite call to action

The most important information at the top

A killer headline

Nice Graphics (but don’t over-do it)

Little or NO distraction

If you follow these steps you’ll be way ahead of your competitors.

Good Luck in your Internet Marketing efforts
