Measurable Outcomes and Meaningful Measures

Dr. Catherine Wehlburg, Executive Director, Office of Assessment and Quality Enhancement
Texas Christian University
Friday, October 16, 2009, 12:30 pm to 4:15 pm
Sky Room, Holmes Student Center
During this session, a technique called the Mobius Strip will be used by Dr. Wehlburg to demonstrate the interconnections between student learning outcomes and assessment as applied to NIU Baccalaureate Goals. Creating measurable outcomes of student learning can be challenging, however, when they are well-developed, they can be used to enhance the assessment process in meaningful ways. Participants will gain information on how to write useful and measurable outcomes and how to identify and create authentic assessment. This hands-on session will enable participants to modify existing or create new student learning outcomes and meaningful assessment measures. Advanced registration is required.
