Acolhe trabalhos teóricos, experiências de análise e formulações conceituais sobre processos comunicativos, meios, mediações e emergências das interações na sociedade contemporânea de informação generalizada. Trata-se de um periódico aberto às reflexões sobre as transformações históricas das mediações na cultura; sobre as produções de linguagens e suas interfaces; sobre as implicações sócio-políticas das atividades implementadas, bem como de suas conseqüências cognitivas. Para isso, preserva o horizonte inter e transdisciplinar dos aportes teóricos e metodológicos do pensamento comunicacional. Espera-se, por conseguinte, redimensionar conhecimentos e tradições históricas que contribuem para definir, mapear e explorar conceitualmente os eventos comunicativos, reavivando, os compromissos que são, igualmente, parte da história do PPGCOM-ECA-USP.

Like Wall Street Meltdown and WSM Redux (both on YouTube), the new video takes a popular song and substitutes industry-specific lyrics. Only instead of finance, Mad Avenue Blues is about the media/advertising world and the impact to the traditional models brought about by the accelerating migration to digital. Sung to Don McLean's "American Pie", this 19 stanza song was written and produced in just one day. I did this so that I could answer those who respond to my video projects with the knee-jerk "you obviously have too much time on your hands". Since the Service began in 1973, it has carried out more than 21,000 missions ranging from urgent patient transfers to dangerous search and rescue missions.

This film is 100% 'real', but there are some new techniques for me here, such as using time lapse to create the illusion of forward movement for the helicopter ocean scenes. I graduated from the Glasgow School of Art's graphic design course. This was my final project.

Radiohead held an online contest to remix "Nude" from their album - "In Rainbows" This was quite a difficult task for everybody that entered, as Nude is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. Most music that's played in clubs is around 120bpm and usually 4/4 timing. It's pretty difficult to seamlessly mix a waltz beat into a DJ set.

This resulted in lots of generic entries consisting of a typical 4/4 beat, but with arbitrary clips from "Nude" thrown in so that they qualified for the contest.

Thom Yorke joked at the ridiculousness of it in an interview for NPR radio, hinting that they set the competition to find out how people would approach such a challenging task.

I decided to take the piss a bit, as the contest seemed to be in that spirit.

Based on the lyric (and alternate title) "Big Ideas: Don't get any" I grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they're trying their best to do something that they're not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there.

It doesn't sound great, as it's not supposed to.

I missed the contest deadline, so I'm offering it here for you to enjoy.
