For those who are cool enough then join this dance challenge: Colgate Fresh Confidence Your Coolest Ice Breaker Contest. If you manage to prove you're the coolest you and your partner may win a Samsung Galaxy Tab each.

This contest is open to fans of Colgate Fresh confidence.

All you have to do is create a video entry featuring you and a partner to execute the Colgate Icebreaker Handshake just like in the tutorial video. Your video entry should not more than 1 minute.

Guidelines for the Ice Breaker Handshake video entries are as follows:

- Each video must make use of all the steps of the Ice Breaker Handshake as taught in the tutorial video.

- Each video must follow the prescribed entrance and exit of the two Ice Breaker performers as taught in the tutorial video.

- Each video must follow the prescribed framing of the Ice Breaker Handshake performers as well as the stationary camera position as indicated in the tutorial video.

- Only two people (including the Participant) should perform the Ice Breaker Handshake in the video.

- Each video must not exceed 1 minute in length. It should be in mpeg, mov, mp4, avi, or .3gp format and must not exceed 10 MB in size.

- Participants can send in as many creative Icebreaker Handshake videos as they wish within the Submission Periods. Sending of the same video more than once is not allowed. The duplicate video will not be considered as a valid entry.

SELECTION OF MONTHLY WINNERS:

There will be three (3) winners per month - 2 video entries and 1 voter.

Video entries will be judged by representatives from Colgate-Palmolive and Y&R based on the following criteria:

One (1) lucky voter per month will be selected at random. To be eligible, voter must have voted for any of the valid entries for the month.

SELECTION OF GRAND CHAMPION:

There will be a total of six (6) videos that will move on to the grand finals (the 2 winning videos per month for 3 months)

The six (6) video entries will be tagged in the “Your Coolest Ice Breaker” Application as finalists wherein fans will get the chance to vote for the best Ice Breaker Handshake.

The video with the most number of votes will be declared as the Grand Champion. There will be five (5) runners-up.

One (1) random voter for each of the six (6) finalists will be selected at random. To be eligible, voter must have voted for any of the six (6) finalists.

This contest is open to citizens in any of the 67 ADB member countries (Philippines included).

Contest rules and guidelines:

Overview

The content of the video must be about renewable energy, energy for all, or another energy-related theme in Asia and the Pacific.
Videos must be 1 - 5 minutes in length.
All video entries must be uploaded to either YouTube.com or Youku.com.
Videos must be submitted between 21 November 2011 and 21 February 2012.
All contestants must register here.

Rules & Conditions (partial)

1. Eligibility: any citizen of any ADB member country*, who is interested in renewable energy can join. Participants must produce and upload a short digital film about renewable energy in Asia and the Pacific, and fill out an online registration form. Employees of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, sibling, child, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin and respective spouses, etc.) and those living in their immediate households, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter the competition or win awards.

2. Deadline for submissions is 21 February 2012.

3. The submitted entry must meet the category outlines as they appear in the competition details.

4. The competition is specifically intended for new films only. Films produced and/or screened prior to 21 November 2011 will not be accepted.

5. ADB will accept films of any production value including mobile phone and films of any genre, e.g. animation, documentary, drama, experimental, art, testimonial, etc. Judges will take into consideration all aspects of the work when making their decision.

6. Entrants may submit more than one entry but each entry must be submitted on a separate application form.

7. The video must be between 1 minute and 5 minutes long.

8. The stories can be provided in any language. However, entrants are strongly encouraged to include subtitles and a full length script in English, in order to facilitate public outreach and the contest process.
Each video must be the entrant's original work, in its entirety, and must not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any other third party, regardless of country of residence. It is the entrant's responsibility to clear all aspects of copyright - not only video content, but music and other content as well.

9. If in doubt, do not use. If uncleared material is detected in submitted entries, they will be automatically disqualified. Please note that as the entries will be uploaded to YouTube (or on Youku in the People's Republic of China), that YouTube "respects the rights of copyright holders and publishers and requires all users to confirm that they own the copyright or have permission from the copyright holder to upload content."

Canon Philippines will hold a photo contest on the Feast of the Black Nazarene for 2012. If you happen to be joining in the festivities, you might want to join this too. Prizes at stake include an EOS1000D digital camera with an 18-55m lens kit for the DSLR category and a PowerShot SX230 HS for the point-and-shoot category.

Images will only be accepted in JPEG format. No RAW files will be allowed. Images may not be altered by any image editing software. Image size should not be more than 5MB.

Participants can only submit one photo entry

All entries should be submitted on the Canon booth situated along HIDALGOMEZ Quiapo on January 10, 2012, between 10:00 AM - 4:00PM only. The organizers reserve the right to refuse the photo entry which will be submitted late.

An entry must not bear any name and free from any identifying marks of the photographer/owner on the image/picture area to avoid any hint of bias during judging.

While “nudity” is an art, entries must not, however, show sexual or reproductive organ of the subject, human or animal. Any image that shows sexual act or even suggests an indecent act or pose, offensive to moral standards, is not eligible and therefore disqualified as an entry.

All digital photographs submitted must have been shot on the duration of the celebration of the Feast of Black Nazarene 2012. Those submitting images shot earlier or photos taken by proxies will be disqualified.

Every category must have at least a minimum of ten (10) entries in order to be declared a valid contest.

Should a contest category have less than ten (10) entries, such category shall be declared “NO CONTEST” and all prizes allocated shall revert to the contest organizers.

- Creativity in theme interpretation
- Use of color, light and shadows
- Composition of photograph
- Relevance to theme

How to Join

1. Participants must create on their own a completely original music video using any of the 22 pre-selected Original Filipino Music (OPM music defined as music which composer and performing artist are both Filipino)] songs.

Going Gaga Over Gargling

What if you didn't have enough time to brush your teeth before an important once-in-a-lifetime super extraordinary special day like this? If you haven't, then chances are you might have to gargle all the way til your honeymoon! Talk about being a total bummer on your best day...

A lot of surprises will always in store during your wedding day. Trust me. I've been there myself.

The moment you wake up, the first thing in mind for a groom is how not to mess up the most important day of your life. Then, you would have to go through all the preparations while constantly thinking what you could have missed.

Think it over. Do a mental self-check... Are your clothes ready? Check... Did you eat your breakfast? Check... Did you groom yourself properly? Check... How about the sponsors, did you make sure they're headed to the venue so as not to be late? Hmmm check... Talk about going gaga over the nitty gritty details...

Still, THE most important thing to keep in mind is NOT to be late for the wedding yourself.

So as not to be late, if you ask me, I would try to brush my teeth as fast as possible. It would be a big embarrassment for the groom to be late for the big day.

But what if I haven't brushed long or well enough? Chances are, I might have to gargle all day long. :(

Here are my top 10 reasons why I shouldn't be gargling all wedding day long...

1) Not to turn-off my bride. Since this is the biggest day of her life as well, I should make a point to act naturally. No making faces because of stuck plaque and food bits in between my teeth. Besides, making funny gargling noises will just make her irritable.

2) Not to turn-off my in-laws. Since my in-laws, the mother and father of my bride will be there, they will of course have big expectations. Gargling in front of them might make them think otherwise. It's like telling them, "hey, I'm not ready yet...".

3) Make a big impression on friends and relatives. Similar to the first two reasons above, I have to make sure that my bride and I are the stars of the show. As the groom, I should give my best smile. So I should leave the gargling gestures behind the stage.

4) So I can speak properly in front of the priest and other witnesses. It is so embarrassing to say 'I do' while making a pouting gorilla face in front of the priest and bride.

5) So I can walk and move about without hesitation. Walking in front of the aisle can sometimes become uncomfortable, specially if I know everyone is looking at me. If you're walking while doing that gargling thing, chances are, you might have to stoop or walk hurriedly so as not to be noticed. Problem is, you'll always get noticed whatever you do.

6) So that I can kiss the bride without worry. To kiss my bride is a sign of love. Gargling during this moment is a sign that I can't give anything at all, not even a kiss.

7) So that I can enjoy the banquet at our reception. I love food. If I gargled all day long, I wouldn't even have time to eat anything. All I would do is just stare at the food. And to add to the sourgraping, I might tell myself... "eating will add plaque to my teeth anyway..."

8) So that I can enjoy the wedding dance with my bride. I admit, I'm a lousy dancer. And if I add gargling in my waltz, instead of my feet, my teeth will do the dancing instead.

9) So that I can freely talk with friends and relatives. Personally thanking my guests for giving some time to attend my wedding day is the best way to show my appreciation. Gargling has no place during this moment. One can't gargle and talk at the same time.

10) So that I can enjoy being close with my bride. I believe, this is the most important aspect of the first day of marriage. It is that first step to get closer together, as husband and wife. The wedding day should be the start of that wonderful relationship.

Confession of A Guilty Gorger - A Soyami Snacking Without The Guilt Story

Dear Father Diet,

I can't remember when my last food confession was. Thinking about my predicament, it was a long time since I shared to you, and I believe this food confession is probably long overdue. Because of the drastic changes I am experiencing at the moment, I felt compelled to write to you right now.

Just a few years ago, I still considered myself health conscious. That time, I used to watch watch what and how much I eat. I also committed some of my time to my jogging routine, which is around three to four times a week. I never had any problems with my weight, and I don't easily get tired during work, play outdoors or go out dating with my special someone.

But alas, times have changed.

I got married, and after that I suddenly lost interest in watching you, Father Diet, and indulged on different kinds of yummy snacks. Healthy or not, I started not to care. I have completely forgotten that I was getting myself into the mortal "sins" of food cravings.

I know them as The Three Deadly S's, the mortal "sins" everyone should try to avoid. Too much of it will corrupt our health and overtime, silently kill us..

Too much Salt - Because I indulged in too much french fries, salted snacks and potato chips, I have exposed myself to bladder and kidney problems if this continues.

Too much Sugar - Because I indulged in too much softdrinks, cakes and pastries, chocolates, ice cream and overeating rice, I have exposed myself to the risk of getting diabetes in the future.

Too much Saturated fat - Because I indulged in too much hamburgers, potato chips, chicharon, pork chops and other meat products, dairy products like mayonnaise, butter and margarine, I have exposed myself to high blood tension, heart attack, stroke and other circulatory diseases.

I know most of these foods are not "unhealthy" Father Diet, but because of stress, and instant gratification for all the efforts I have given in the office and the numerous chores done at home, I tend to overeat and indulge on these comfort food.

And to make matters worse, I also lost the urge to go jogging because my house chores have taken more of my time and energy to do it.

Because of my change in lifestyle, the effects started to show on my body. I became heavier and got more tired easily. A bulge on my side started to show. It felt as if I was doomed to obesity.

I needed salvation Father Diet, so I tried hard to find a suitable snack packed with the good stuff and none of the bad stuff in it. A representative from Otsuka Pharmaceuticals will screen the video first to prevent offensive and/or sexual content before uploading the video on the Facebook Dance Contest App. The following information must be submitted on the Facebook Dance Contest app registration page:

- Name of group
- Name of representative of group
- Address
- Representative's contact number(s) and email address
- The group's name should also be labeled, as a caption on the video page.

ii. Submission of videos will be from Friday 12:00PM to Friday 11:59AM of the following week (see attached table).

iii. Video file must be in .wav, .mov, .flv, .avi or .mp4 format.

iv. Share your post (video in the fan page) to your profile page by tagging your name. (e.g. @name) in the field before clicking "Share" so the entry is submitted. Entries not successfully posted to the fan page and shared with your name tagged are not qualified. Double check the fanpage and your profile page to make sure your entry has been posted in both pages. Likers will be directed to the voting section of the app to "like" for their chosen entry in order to prevent duplication of likes. Only the likes posted in each entry in the app shall be considered as valid votes.

v. Ask your friends to "like/vote" your video. However, that will not be the sole determinant of the contest. (See Criteria for Judging). Voting/"Liking" will be for a period of 1 week (Friday 12PM to Friday 11:59AM of the following week)(please refer to attached table). A screenshot will be captured for each video at 11:59AM to capture the number of "likes/votes" on the voting section of the app.

Solo, a Philippine apparel brand is having their annual model search. 2 model winners will get a chance to win 20,000 pesos cash and 15,000 worth of GCs from Solo. Two Graphic Artists will also get a chance to win 10,000 pesos cash and 15,000 worth of GCs from solo (one for male and one for female model)

My Lipton Yellow Tea-Licious Possibility!

My wife and I just moved to a condo unit I rented near our workplace, and boy our cramped studio was waaaaay too hot for comfort! The weather was humid these past few days, and it was quite annoying that our electric fan couldn't quite cool us down.

I guess it's time to treat ourselves with some halo-halo, but we didn't have any condensed milk around. So we tried to refresh ourselves with something else... something uniquely different. So I thought, "How about tea?"

I have been a fan of tea since way back when. Its unique taste and appeal I discovered the first time I got a chance to eat with my parents in one of those Chinese restaurants in Ongpin that serve FREE house tea as we wait for our food to be served. Tea soothes the senses and calms the mind.

And as I discovered LIPTON Yellow Label Tea, its taste and aroma reminded me of real tea Chinese restaurants often serve.

Going back to me and my wife's predicament, since I had Lipton Yellow Tea with me, I thought of enjoying it to beat the heat. And, I came up with my simple concoction - The Yellow Tropical Delight!

"Yellow Tropical Delight" is relatively fun and simple to do.

To make the "Yellow Tropical Delight", all I need are the following ingredients:

- LIPTON Yellow Label Tea
- sugar
- water
- ice

- Mixture of different fruits. Here, I used some...
- Bananas
- Papaya
- Mango
* You may use other fruits as well, preferably soft and sweet. You may try plums, jackfruit, pineapple, etc.

- and chocolate syrup

Here are the steps to prepare "Yellow Tropical Delight":

Step 1: Prepare the LIPTON Yellow tea
- Get a tea bag of LIPTON Yellow tea and dip it in hot water. Dip the bag three times slowly, to bring out the flavor and aroma. Hot water is best used for this process because with it, tea dissolves faster and better.

Step 2: Prepare the fruits to be used
- Slice the fruits you prefer tho use with LIPTON Yellow Tea. I used bananas, papaya and mangoes for my concoction. Slice the fruits in bite size bits for maximum enjoyment!

I brought out some bananas and sliced it across giving me circular banana bits.

Then I got some papaya from a nearby convenience store and sliced into smaller pieces to be used for our recipe.

Lastly, I got some mangoes and sliced it into little cubes. Slice the mango the "normal" way, by cutting it into 3 parts, isolating the seed in the middle. Then get one of its sides and slice the inside in a grid-like manner. Be careful not to slice all the way through the mango peel. After doing this, scoop out the cut out mango cubes.

Step 3: Add sugar
- Put sugar into the LIPTON Yellow Tea and stir

Step 4: Cool down the Yellow Tea
- Fruits are best enjoyed when served cold. To cool down the LIPTON Yellow Tea, you may add a little ice into the mix. Crushed or shaved ice is best for this purpose.

Step 5: Mix in the sliced fruits
- Put the fruits you prepared into the LIPTON Yellow Tea. Mix well.

Step 6: Add chocolate
- You may add chocolate syrup on top of the fruits in your LIPTON Yellow Tropical Delight!

This sweet concoction made me and my wife's day truly exciting because we both love fruits, and adding LIPTON Yellow Tea into the mix is a surefire way to enjoy our favorite fruits and the health benefits of tea at the same time! And not to mention we were able to beat the heat with a cool tea cocktail. That is why LIPTON for me is all about:

The registration for Canon Photomarathon 2011 Manila leg is open starting October 28, 2011 8 p.m. onwards. This event will be held on Novermber 12, 2011 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Building, Sen. Gil J Puyat Ave., cor Roxas Blvd. Pasay City.

The Canon Photomarathon is a 1-day on-the-spot photo contest that lets you actually go out and shoot new images within the specified location or area. You’ll get the chance to compete against other amateur/professional photographers & hobbyist under strict contest deadlines. Just submit the images you’ve captured subject to judges’ evaluation. Your thematic creative instincts, as well as your ability to work under tight timeline pressures will be thoroughly tested in this exciting and unique competition.

There are two categories:
1) DSLR category
2) point-and-shoot category

* there was a video contest for last year's Photomarathon but I don't see any video category for this year though...

Isuzu Philippines is having a contest that dares you to go the farthest / have the highest mileage with the Isuzu Longest KM Highest KM Challenge! Grand prize is 30,000 pesos worth of Caltex fuel cards.

This contest is open to all owners of Isuzu trucks, vans and SUVs, brand new or second hand residing in the Philippines.

General Mechanics:

Fill up an application form available at Isuzu dealerships or participating Caltex stations. A photo must of your vehicle and a copy of your OR-CR should be submitted along with the filled-up application form. OR-CR may not bear the contestant's name as long as the contestant can present a copy of a deed of sale.

Submission of documents is from from September 15, 2011 to November 30, 2011.

Contestant must indicate the starting odometer reading on the application form and take a photo of it as part of the application process.

Application forms may be submitted in any Isuzu dealerships nationwide or participating Caltex Stations.

Isuzu Philippines Corp. will select the top 3 contestants with the highest kilometer readings (based on the submission of the dealer network) on December 9, 2011. Winners will be notified by mail.

Tuning It Up The 2nd Time Around With Muzikademy

Muzikademy, now on its second year is encouraging more participants for this fun-filled Music Camp. Similar to last year's Muzikademy, this project aims to enhance musical talent of out-of-school and underprivileged youth, and teach them how to become total performers in their two day training camp.

Aside from learning from the training camp, candidates also get a chance to win 100,000 pesos worth of prizes and cash. Out-of-school or underprivileged youth 15 to 28 years old are encouraged to join! High School students are also welcome!
