I think there’s a virus going around their (Notice how I said “their” and not “our” – Ha!) office because I saw a post by John with flu meds. But good thing though is that he didn’t get fever or anything. He just really hates getting sick. Am I weird to enjoy getting sick? I love the pampered feeling but he doesn’t. Anyway, we had a late lunch at Marche (around 3PM) and were distracted by the yummy food that we almost forgot about the 4PM show of God or Carnage! Gaaaah! We rushed out of there by 3:30 PM and tried to be patient with the taxi queue. We made it to the theater at 3:55 PM! Phew! God of Carnage was a surprise because initially I thought it was all drama. I didn’t expect that we’d be laughing the entire time! Seriously, Adrian Pang’s facial expression alone can make us burst into laughter! I only read the wiki after we bought the tickets and had no idea what God of Carnage was all about before that.

There’s a movie but as the producer pointed out, it’s important to know that the movie was based on the show. So the real reason why we bought the tickets? The ensemble. Lea Salonga, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Art Acuña, Adrian Pang. How can you pass that up? Seriously? A tragedy disguised as a comedy – that’s what they all kept saying. And I have to agree.

There was a Q&A after the show so we chose to stay back. Weng and I joked that I should have said “Hi Menchu, remember me? I did your make-up before. Remember? Remember?” Hahahaha! Of course I didn’t noh! But just to add proof that I did her make-up a couple of years ago, here’s a photo that I stole from Tricia:

See! Hahahah!

So the question that I asked was *drumroll* “How do you not get mixed up with all your projects?” Hahahah! I know it was not super related. But I really wanted to ask a question and that’s all that I could think of at the moment plus Randy was beside me saying “You ask. Sige na magtanong ka.” Pressure!! Luckily I was the third one to ask and the deep questions came probably on the 6th or 7th turn!

Q&A ninja shot. I swear, all their eyes were on me at one point. And I can now actually say that I have “spoken” to these amazing actors! HA!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/celay/8171597764/" title="God of Carnage Q&A. I asked and they all looked at me at one point!
So this is it! Our relationship has reached the 7-year mark. In college I may have failed Theo 131 (Marriage and Sexuality. LOL!) but one of the things that Fr D said got stuck in my head. He used to say “When you reach 7 years, you either get married or break-up.” And since I was being a Theo rebel in college, all I thought then was “Whatever!” But 7 years into our relationship I get that now. Oh Fr. D, you’d be so proud of me! 7 years is the time that the relationship gets super comfortable. You know each other so well that you can even tell what the person is thinking just by looking at his face. Yes, the Lily and Marshall thing? So possible. It’s amazing really! When things are so comfortable, you can either stay there and get tired of it or you can carry on to the next chapter. The next chapter doesn’t really have to be a wedding – Sorry Fr. D! If you want to, you can skip that part and just get right into having a baby. Another option would be moving in together or moving to a different country altogether! […]

It’s your choice really. And it doesn’t even have to be 7 years. It varies per couple. Again, sorry Fr. D but I really do understand the essence of your statement now.

So with that, I am going to be (if not already am) one of those people now and say how happy I am that Randy and I are starting this new chapter in our lives at the perfect time. The pieces just came together and so yey! Hahahah!

Anyway since our anniversary fell on a Sunday, we decided to start the celebration on a Saturday with brunch at Kith:

But Dee was really looking forward to dinner at Ku De Ta because of their crispy-sticky baby squid

Chopped yellowfin tuna tarter and mustard miso

This is something that we can order anywhere but add a bit of truffle oil and it just changes everything. Wok-charred baby kai lan with silver-fish, light shoyu and truffle oil!

Obligatory shot at the restaurant entrance because we asked them to take our photo with the Singapore skyline behind us. Tee-hee!

7 years and who-knows-how-many-pounds later!

I was really looking forward to taking a panoramic shot using my new iPhone but it was raining and we didn’t want to get wet. Sayang! But anyway it was foggy so the building wouldn’t be that clear. Did you notice in the background? It looked like there was smoke on top of all the buildings.

Oh well, there’s always next time.

On the day of our anniversary, we had a simple brunch at our secret place and spent the rest of the afternoon reading our books.

And lastly, I just want to say that even if I am one of those people now, #myfriendsaremarried is still one of my favorite blogs!

Oh geez, I am one of those people now. I even plan to add a new tag for posts that I mention wedding stuff. Yeah, definitely one of those people now.

Another source of happiness today – I recovered my *insert*app*name* account! Ever since I restored my data in my new iPhone, I was so sad that I couldn’t log in! (I forgot my password) I leave my old iPhone in the house and as much as I want to restore its factory settings, I chose not to for that app alone. I actually deleted the apps one by one and just left that particular one. It’s so special and I’m so happy that I have it working again. Thank you to my “tech support!” You are awesome!

Speaking of the iPhone. I have been wondering for the longest time why there is no signal when I get on the green line each morning. As in from Paya Lebar all the way to Expo! I mean yes, I see the 3G icon but I couldn’t even send a message in Whatsapp! It was pretty annoying and I have adapted to it by keeping my iPhone in my bag and just daydream the entire ride. But then I got the iPhone 5 and lo and behold, I discovered that that entire stretch has LTE that my poor iPhone 4 couldn’t relate to! Then I started to notice that those areas that seemed to have “low” signal are all in fact on LTE! Aiyoh! Hahahah! But I’m happy now! I’m happy with the fast internet connection on my iPhone! I shall savor this until they come up with new technology and my iPhone 5 becomes outdated two years from now!

Oh and anniversary weekend is coming up! 7 years with Dee – we’ve come a long way baby! I know sooner or later things will pace up quickly but for now, we are enjoying what we have right here, right now. A lot of people have been asking us when the big day is and we learned to smile and express how happy we are with our engagement that we’re just taking it slow and enjoying every minute of it. I feel like I’ve said that so many times already that next time someone asks, I should just say “TBD” or “TBA” – I’ll try that out. I hope someone asks me tomorrow. Hahahahah!

Oh great it’s almost midnight. So much for getting 9 hours of sleep. It’s not only our anniversary that’s nearing but also the uterus fairy. And when her arrival is impending, it’s so damn hard to get out of bed! My “pwede na” 5-7 hours of sleep is not acceptable so I am aiming for 9 hours around this time of my cycle. But what am I doing now?

I hate myself.

Just kidding! I love myself!

Ahhhh yes, I am one of those people now.

Good night!

Our wallets were kinda relieved! Contrary to what our friends thought, this staycation did not come about due to our recent engagement. Actually we planned this for about 2 months. I was checking for cheap hotel rates randomly (Okay fine, that’s a habit of mine – maybe once or twice a week) when I saw a really low rate for Swissotel Merchant Court. I thought that with the long weekend coming up “Why not?” I presented the idea to Dee and he said go for it! So we booked the cheapest room with breakfast for two. We arrived in the area around lunch time and since it was too early for the 2PM check-in, we went to the newly opened Chili’s branch in the mall across the hotel. No pictures of that but I do have for our lunch after checking-out today. I’ll get to that later. After a very satisfying lunch, we made it to the check-in time on the dot! No pictures of that but I do have for our lunch after checking-out today. I’ll get to that later. After a very satisfying lunch, we made it to the check-in time on the dot! Checking in went pretty smoothly, I only had to wait behind one person before they accommodated me. With a very small luggage, there wasn’t a need for a porter too. So we got to our room and I’d say it wasn’t so bad with the price we got it for.

This is Dee playing hide and seek with himself.

The TV wasn’t working. We called and they attempted to fix it. Initially there was 1 guy and he kept asking for assistance from his colleagues. So 1 guy came after another and I think at 1 point, there were 5 of them in the room with us trying to fix the TV. By 3PM, Dee told them “I think you should just transfer us to another room.” We weren’t being annoying guests and the technicians were nice to us. It’s just that we didn’t see this getting resolved anytime soon and we were wasting precious time that we were paying for. So they apologized and told us someone from the hotel will call us. When the call came 2 minutes later, I thought the nice lady was just going to tell me the new room number but wait, there was more! They upgraded our room type to make up for the inconvenience! Yey! Thank you, spoiled TV!

Of course the first thing he did was to check if the TV was working!

Later, we crossed the bridge to Clarke Quay for a night out.

Actually it was just dinner and dessert.

You see all that garlic? That made us go back to our hotel room after dessert. Hahahah!

Over breakfast the following day, I suggested that we go to Chinatown. We went back to the hotel room where I took a shower and when I was done, I found my staycation-buddy snoring. Okay, fine. It was still early anyway so I played Bubble Mania on my iPhone. Then I thought of checking Singtel’s iPhone 5 page. And oh my! My eyes widened as I saw “Stocks Available” beside the names of all of the Singtel Shops! Unlike Chinatown this couldn’t wait. So I woke him up. That was the biggest challenge of my morning because it probably took me about 15 minutes to finally make him take a shower. I tried to tickle him, hug him and even push him out of the bed! I was successful in the pushing part but that only made him sleep on the carpet! I swear it was so difficult to figure out what I was feeling because I was laughing the entire time! I actually have a photo of him lying on the carpet with a pillow! But I promised Dee I won’t post it and I am a good fiancee like that. Hahahaha! So he finally went inside the shower grumbling the whole time and came out of it 10 minutes literally jumping around! My gaaawd! He was apparently excited with the thought of getting a new iPhone!

We took taxi (yes, we were that anxious) to the nearest Singtel Shop. On the road, we discussed that we were sticking with our current plans and going for a 32 GB (Side note: For the past 2 years, I always say that I have a 64 GB iPhone when someone asks. I don’t know why! I only found out it was a 32 GB when Dee won our argument by showing me via the settings. Hahahaha!). I was set on getting the white/silver while Dee was eying the black/slate. But when we got there, the only white model available had 16 GB capacity.

So this is me with a first world problem because there was not more 32 GB white iPhone 5. Hahahahah!

I was trying to “sob” but holding my laughter in because Dee had this really funny face that I made him reenact with this shot.

The original face was waaaay funnier!

We got our matching iPhone 5′s with matching cases and matte screen protectors and went back to the hotel. And the weekend flew by with food, HBO, food, massage, food and more food.

That’s me watching LOTR: Return of the King. The room temperature was perfect and not too cold. I just really love hotel blankets!

On our last breakfast before checking-out, we chose a table outside the restaurant.

And though another couple took our table while we got our food, that didn’t really dampen our mood. With a view like this, would you feel annoyed?

I kept telling Dee what a lovely weekend we had! We had sinful meals (Last na, promise! Diet/Excercise mode will make a come-back tomorrow!), relaxed, added spontaneity (i.e. the unplanned iPhones) and even made small yet significant steps in our wedding planning. Yey! Adulthood, I think we are here now.

Cheers to the animated weekend that was and another productive week ahead!

PS: Errr, I forgot to upload the photos from Chili’s.

Friday: Randy suggested we meet at the salad bar that I really like. I was obviously happy with the suggestion because it usually takes a lot of convincing from me for Randy to say yes to that place. His office is just a few MRT stations away that’s why I was surprised to find him at the other end of the escalator. I thought he would be waiting for me in the restaurant by then. He made a lame excuse that he had to take a “pit-stop” at the men’s room. I bought it and asked if he could put the stuff I purchased earlier in his ever reliable backpack. He said that he’ll do it later because at that moment we had to rush to the restaurant before they run out of tables. Over dinner we went on with our mundane discourse ranging from Christmas gifts to food to music and to whatever! He did mention Starbucks a couple of times and how he wanted to check out the seats at their veranda. It wasn’t extra-ordinary for me to hear him say that so I just went with it. After dinner we carried on to Starbucks but there weren’t any vacant tables. So Randy just bought something to-go and we checked out the shops.

Saturday: We watched a musical in the theater with our friends. They wanted to go out afterwards but Randy told me he’d rather have dinner with just the two of us. That was fine with me until I developed a really really bad migraine in the middle of the show. So we had a quick meal, ordered a tea latte to-go and nursed my throbbing headache.

Sunday: A dinner invitation from Randy at a steak place. Wow! He must be really hungry, I thought. And free steak? Who would say No to that? He yet again brought up Starbucks during dinner. Since there was work the next day, he needed to buy his breakfast, he said. That was a very Randy thing to say so naturally I bought it. But somehow after dinner, both our stomachs started to get upset so we forgot about Starbucks and just went home.

Monday: Randy suggested that we meet at this Thai place that I like. Again, I was happy with this suggestion because it’s not everyday that he agrees to eat there – let alone suggest it! After a lovely dinner, I started walking towards the MRT but he insisted that we go to Starbucks because he needed breakfast for the next day. I thought that maybe he would just buy something to-go again. But he didn’t. I was still looking at their merchandise wall expecting him to queue up when he pointed to a secluded table at the back. I was confused. “What’s going on?” Then I remembered that he did say he wanted to take advantage of our weekday date, so okay! He sat in front of me after getting his drink and expressed how he was going to miss me when I leave for Hong Kong that weekend. He was being sweeter than usual but I attributed that to the fact that I’m flying off to see my girlfriends in HK. I honestly have now forgotten what we were talking about when he suddenly presented me with a tall cup and said “Open it!”

I knew what it was right then and there. Plus I could also see from the hole on the cover that the dark box inside was definitely not coffee! I was all flustered and taken by surprise. I could feel the blood rushing and my face turning red. There were just too many emotions moving around my body that I froze! He asked me again but I couldn’t move! I just wanted to pinch myself in case I was dreaming. My mind had so many thoughts – What’s going on? Is this real? Am I dreaming? Is this really it? And also at the same time I was telling myself to relax and breathe.

We all know what happened next of course or else I wouldn’t be writing about it now. Hahaha! That was how we had a private moment in a public place. He proposed where it all began, where we met and got to know each other. It was a perfect moment and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I wear a really big smile each time I remember that moment. Now whenever I catch a glimpse of the sparkle on my finger, I am always brought back to that moment and still can’t believe that we are actually getting married! Yey! I super love you Dee!!!

Sneaky Randy
October 2012 – For some inexplicable reason, the time when things fell into place. I was planning all the while that this was the month that I will propose – a month before we reach 7 years. There were a few “roadblocks” but at one moment, things just fell into place! I can’t believe this! It was meant to be! I was meant to buy the ring now! I can barely hide my astonishment and excitement, but I had too. (Side note: I have a bad reputation for keeping surprises from Cel. For some reason, Cel always found out or foiled my plans. This was not the case this time around.)

So that Friday, I decided to buy the ring after work. I was supposed to meet Cel for dinner at Orchard. Before going there, I passed by Tiffany’s to buy the ring. I just made a lame excuse to Cel that I had a deuce and was going to be 10 mins late. Success! – not on the toilet thing but for the buying of the ring! I met Cel and she suddenly said “Can we put this in your bag?” My first reaction was “She knows! How does she know?!” I just made an excuse that I’ll do it later when we reach the restaurant. Phew!

After dinner, I asked Cel if we can go to the Starbucks upstairs to have some coffee, thinking that I could do it there. For some reason, it wasn’t the right time for me to do it. Same went for Saturday and Sunday – I had chance to do it, but felt that it was not yet time. So I waited. I never thought that that Monday was going to be the Monday that we will never forget.

Monday, 8th October 2012 – D Day: This was the week that she going to Hong Kong so it wouldn’t be weird if I was extra malambing because I will really miss Cel. So we had dinner at that Thai place and afterwards I invited Cel to go to Starbucks to “chat”. At first I thought Cel would be suspicious but I tried making conversation to veer her mind off of it. I asked her if she wanted anything – drinks, dessert – she said no. So I said was going to buy something for myself. I ordered a Passion Iced Tea but also got a Tall Cup. I put the ring inside the cup and the cup inside my bag as quickly as I could. I sat down with drink in hand and ring in bag and began kwentuhan with Cel. Then an opportunity! I sneakily got the cup from my bag. When she saw the cup, she instantly turned red. I said “Open it” with a smile on my face. She turned as red as one of her lipsticks and said “Ayaw ko!” with a big smile on her face. So I opened the cup, got the ring and proposed, “Baby, will you marry me?” She said “Yes!” and I reached out to kiss her. She was speechless and I was ecstatic! Finally!

I always wanted to do it where it all started: A Starbucks store inside a mall. It was where it started, it was where the appropriate question should be asked. It was just perfectly simple and simply perfect at the same time. Now, I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my Cel, my life, my love and my everything. I love you with all of me. I love you unconditionally. I love you infinitely my fiancée!

We have been friends for 15 years (minus two for the years Tricia and I didn’t speak to each other) and this is only our first international trip together. Whut?

To summarize our trip, it was four days of both shopping and drinking. I swear, we did those two activities everyday! Though I can’t say the same for Aireen and Tricia, I got really buzzed on our last day over a bottle of wine in Mario Batali’s Italian restaurant Lupa. (Yes, kumain kme sa lupa.) Anyway, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Here are the highlights of our trip…

My Cathay Pacific flight left Singapore at 1:15 AM and I was annoyed when we landed 30 minutes ahead of schedule at 4:40 AM. Why? Because that means I have to wait longer in the airport! Aireen and Tricia’s flight was only leaving Manila a few minutes past 5 AM. But thank goodness Manila is not as far as Singapore from HK! I waited with a book and coffee. Starbucks was closed at that time so I ordered from a place I don’t normally get coffee. I only took a few sips so sleep was still trying to make its presence known. I was just so happy when I got Tricia’s message that their plane had landed!

Our first stop? Shopping of course! It was too early to check-in at the hotel so why not waste our time and money? Hahaha! Okay money was not wasted. All our purchases were sulit, promise!

This is the first of the many shots where I say “Ai, pose ka jan.” or “Ai, dito ka tapos ganito.” Haaaay! So gullible! Luv yah, Ai!

We love this intersection right above Central station!

Our first legit girls’ night out in yearsss!

Bernice was there too! This was our last decent snap. The last snap before thinking “Oh the hell with these pictures, I’m going to dance my way through the night!” And I did. I may have not documented the craziness that happened after this snap but I always giggle each time I remember Tricia’s lines! Hahahah!

The morning after when Tricia needed coffee and Aireen got left behind in Causeway Bay Station. Why? Because while Tricia and I were rushing to get in as the doors closed, Aireen still needed to gather her maxi skirt! Naturally the door closed before she was able to get in! So we waited and took advantage of the nice backdrop.

After a round of shopping and eating, we headed back to the hotel for a change of clothes. The agenda of the night was a Harbour Cruise during the Symphony of Lights with unlimited drinks.

This is me at Ocean Park carrying their bags while they took The Abyss Turbo Drop. I didn’t want to ruin anybody’s day with my vertigo so I didn’t queue up for this and the roller coaster. What? I wanna enjoy my vacation, okay?

And while The Abyss was the highlight of their Ocean Park experience, mine was the Pandaaaaaaas!! I swear, my eyes were all watery because I wanted to cry!! I finally saw a panda in the flesh! A sleeping panda! Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to compose myself when we left Ocean Park. We went to The Peak that night where I wanted to swipe Holly Golightly’s accessories. “Are you sure this is a Tiffany, Holly?”

I was most excited about meeting my favorite actress since 5th grade but I was so sad to find out that they removed her from the display because she needed a change of clothes. (Ang arte ha! Ganun ba katagal yun?) So I settled for this photo.

Breathtaking!

Cheers!

I thought that was our last set of drinks for the trip. But the next day, we found ourselves going over the wine list at Lupa and ordered a bottle to share. Hey, it was cheaper!

And so with a bottle of wine and just the 3 of us, we got buzzed. Let me ask you this, have you ever witnessed girls going drunk shopping? I have! It was quite amusing!

I’m not so innocent either. Though I didn’t go shopping, I just stood in front of the mirror and took photos of myself! There’s more in my camera but you get the idea! I guess alcohol increases my vanity?

It was quite a memorable trip that can last us a while until our next one. We have decided to make this an annual tradition. So girls, Singapore next year…yes? I promise to be your tour guide!

And finally before you go, listen to Tricia scream the loudest!

Warning: Before you scroll down, you have to think “Am I ready for the mental and actual images to follow?” I will not be held responsible for any regurgitating effect this post may bring to you and your stomach. So if you are absolutely sure, then read on. If not then please move to the next blog on your feeds.

So you’re sure?

Okay then!

Okay, really I am not posting the gross photos but I just wanted to warn you because the “current” state is still not actually normal and I am posting that.

You have been warned!

So 11 years ago when I was in fourth year high school and around the time that I found out that there was a guy in the mall who does henna, I became super excited! I was thinking of Madonna in her Frozen video and her VMA performance that year. The idea of a two-week tattoo was genius to me then. It was yet another exciting new thing that attracted my interest and if you know me, when I really want something, I will try my very best to get it. Even my former boss said so about me “You always get what you want noh?” I don’t see that as a bad thing at all because I never harm anyone or do anything illegal when I’m trying to achieve something that I want so badly. I just really do everything that I can!

Anyway, going back to the henna thing in high school…I think I managed to convince Tricia and Janie to get their own too (Am I right on this Tash?) and we were kinda kilig because the guy applying the henna was cute. HAHAHAHAHAHAH! Kaloka! Anyway, mine was a sun on my lower left leg. I really forgot why I chose that design but it was nice and discreet because I was able to cover that part with my white socks on school days. I was so happy with it! I have super dry skin and I must always have to put on my St. Ives collagen lotion after each bath or when necessary. But thinking that the lotion might speed up the fading process of the henna, I always forgo applying lotion on that area. That was not the only mistake I made. I noticed a bit of redness around the black ink and swelling but didn’t really tell anyone about it until it was bothering me so much already. Tsk tsk! Maybe the events that followed were a bit traumatic because I can hardly recall them anymore. The words that I have in my head right now are green stuff, betadine, gauze and gross stuff involving the skin. One good thing that came out of it though was I got exempted from PMT! Exempted from marching around the open field under the scorching heat of the sun because of an infected wound on my foot. Mud or dust might get into it afterall. Ha!

So the moral of the story? Don’t get henna. Henna = allergies. And it wasn’t my everyday eczema kind of allergies. It was one of the unforgettable ones. I even had to live with the scar for the next years following the “incident.” I was able to accept the scar in my life though and even joke to my friends that I have a “permanent tattoo on my foot” because hey, if I’m going to live with this all my life, I might as well laugh about it! I think around 5 years later it eventually went away and a part of me was sad about it. Crazy.

So fast forward to the year 2012 when Randy expressed his interest in getting inked. I thought “Oh hey, we’re going to Phuket so why don’t you get a henna tattoo first and see how it feels like.” And so we took the 1-hour ride from Andaman White Beach Resort to Patong beach just to look for a henna artist. While Randy was trying to choose the design he suggested “Ikaw din. Same tayo.” To which this silly girl answered “Okay!” What the? Hahahah! Okay my thought process was actually “Hmmmm…maybe I only got an allergic reaction 11 years ago because I didn’t apply lotion and the skin dried up, flaky and itchy. Maybe this time if I put lotion all the time, it will be okay.” HAHAHAHAH! I wanna invent a time machine just so I can smack myself in the head!

We were told not to touch it for like an hour then wash off the top layer with soap and water. When we were done we walked to where the driver was supposed to pick us up. I was wearing a tube top so great! But Randy was wearing a shirt so he just took it off. In the car we had to learn how to be comfortable in an awkward position so that the seat won’t touch our backs where the henna was. I eventually found a position to last an hour and became so at ease that I even fell asleep. I did point out to Randy though that it felt “mahapdi.” He didn’t feel the same way so I though that maybe I was just sensitive with the sharp tool that was used.

We arrived back at the resort in time for us to wash off the top part of the henna. To be fair, it was pretty after I did that:

That night, I woke up around 2 AM because my “sleep-scratching” hurt me. I touched the henna area of my back and it felt warm. Sh*t. That can only mean allergies. So I sat up and got the lotion (I always sleep beside my lotion. We are that inseparable!) and applied it to the warm area. I fell asleep after that hoping that things will be better the next day when we were flying back to SG.

But oh well, suffice to say that the first aid kit that I got from Watsons came in pretty handy. As soon as we landed in SG, we went straight to the doctor because I was afraid of an infection. I even felt like I was back to that scared little high school girl. I had to remind myself over and over that I have been through this and I can get past this. This time is even better because I acknowledged the allergic reaction immediately. I was given antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication. I had fever for like 4 hours on my first night back in SG but that was a good thing because that meant that my body’s battle with infection was successful.

What did my high school friends have to say?

It wasn’t a pretty sight and I am skipping the “healing” pictures for the internet’s own benefit. But if you’re curious, go ahead and Google “Henna allergy” and you’ll see all the photos. Turns out, this kind of allergic reaction is pretty common. Some photos are so bad that I myself can’t stand looking at them!

I’m just so relieved that there was no infection (read: no gross green stuff) this time and that the healing went more or less smooth. Though I had to rely on other people to clean it for 2 weeks (test of love and friendship!) it was okay I suppose – in comparison to 11 years ago, that is!

So this is the current photo:

It would have been better if the squiggly part wasn’t there. Why did I have to ask the henna lady to include that! Now it looks like some kind of an organism! Dammit! But oh well, this shall be my back for the next 5 years and I choose to accept it for what it is!

Carry on!

The resort was really lovely! If we were not curious about the rest of the island and Phi Phi, we would have stayed in the resort the entire time. In fact, that’s what we agreed on if we do decide to go back to Phuket. We will just lounge around by the beach all day and do nothing in this resort.

The resort also had a couple of restaurants and there weren’t at all bad. In fact they were delightful. I tasted the best Tom Yam via Room Service.

This was our last dinner. Grilled food is served at night by the pool but since it was drizzling a bit, we were seated at the Italian Restaurant.
And the excitement kept getting stronger each time I saw a poster. See! This is the fangirl arriving in Fort Canning so early even if the VIP ticket assured me a seat! I really planned to buy a VIP ticket even before I knew about the ticket prices. I mean, hello! 15 years in the making, why would I hold back on the best band ever? But then I started planning for a Manila trip after Phuket and that’s when I began to rethink my finances. Plus I could not find anyone who would join me so I thought okay, I shall get the general admission. When I brought it up with Lara again (she said she would think about it earlier), she went online and checked the tickets. To my surprise, she suddenly said “Okay, I’m buying 2 VIP tickets now.
My memory card didn’t have enough space for all the awesomeness and I noticed that since I wasn’t really paying attention with the recording, I usually end up shooting the people jumping around or the side of the stage. Good thing Lara was beside me to make sure I was recording the correct view. Hahaha! Anyway, I tried to crunch everything in as short of a video clip as I can. Enjoy!
