As in internet marketer, I usually had to find ways on how to create my own list. In the field of internet marketing there are a couple of ways on how to do this.

The first is usually a method of bribing your visitors with some freebies in exchange for their email address. What internet marketers normally do is to offer some sort of a free reports or a free ebook which contains some valuable information that your visitors might want to have.

It is imperative that one should offer valuable ebooks and reports otherwise, they’ll just opt-out. The idea is that if these people go through your free ebook and received a good amount of information, they’ll think that there must me more of these kind of information if I stay in this email list.

This method takes time, and a lot of times, one must create a series of emails in an autoresponder to keep them from getting out of your list.

In fact some marketers create a 7 day email course which will try and keep them in the list.

Lately, I came across this mailing list site where in you can rent out a list and send them email, or direct mail.

What I like about such services is that I can test a database, send out an offer and then measure the response. If there are a lot of buyers in that list and my conversion rates can pretty much make some money, then it is probably wise to send another offer after a few weeks.

I also noticed that it has a direct marketers association logo beside these list which means these lists are harvested thru legal means and that these people know that they will receive offers because they opted in to this list.

Futhermore, they also have different lists for different niches. I found an insurance lists, a lawyers list, college email list, and so on.

I haven’t tried this service yet. Anybody here tried them? I would appreciate a feedback.

What Does HTTP stands for?

HTTP is an acronym which stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. It is a set of standards/way of communication that is used between web servers and web browsers.

Hypertext is generally a group of text/documents on a computer that will lead the user to additional, often related information through links or connections which are called “hyperlinks”. The link can be a link to another text, an image, sound file, or a video.

There is a variant of HTTP which is used for secured connections. It is called HTTPS. So if you are sending secure data such as passwords and online banking transactions, it is best to check if the web connection is secured. Check if your address bar shows HTTPS instead of just HTTP.

I was doing some SEO research on sites that use the search key as part of their site. To do this, the website needs to find out who the referrer was, and if it was google or yahoo, the web application needs to parse the query string and use this on the website.

Some web owners use the query string in their title tags, and some use it also as a parameter.

For example, if I’m looking for shoes, I go to google and type “shoes”. If I see your website and I click on it, your site can detect (if you know how to program it) that I came from google and I used “shoes” as my search key.  You can then pass this variable to your content so you can have things like

Product Catalog for $searchkey which will translate to “Product Catalog for Shoes” in my case above.

So I found one site doing this and tried playing with it and this is what I found…(this is so funny)

I found this accidentally as I was searching for “women” but I typed “wemen” instead. The first one I saw was “naked wemen Manufacturer”. So I thought, could it be that they’re using the “searchkey” trick. So I tried querying “naked woman” and I found these 2 entries above in google.

Just imagine…

Product Catalog for naked woman?

Trade Leads for naked woman? (ROTLF)

Oh by the way, they also manufacture “puke” (as in vomit)

I’m pretty sure I can find more hilarious ones.
