For those of you who wanted to take my memorization challenge, here are the verses we are memorizing:

Hebrews 12:1
  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Hebrews 12:12
  So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. 13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.

But you know what?
More than all of this.
I’m a guy who is going to continue to let God use him in spite of all that $hizz.
Because in spite of all that crap…God is using me and is only just beginning.
When are you going to stop waiting until you are out of your sinfest and let God use you in the midst of your arrogant and sinful chaos?
Get over yourself.
It’s better that way.

It inspired me to make my own list. And I plan on typing the following list without edits, so forgive anything that may come across weird…

I’m that guy who wrestles with doubts and yet teaches with conviction.
I’m that guy who has to force himself to play sports with his kids but always loves it when he does.
I’m that guy who wishes he had a beautifully landscaped yard, but tends to do it halfway instead.
I’m that guy who sometimes feels like a poser around really intelligent people.
I’m that guy who can waste too much time online.
I’m that guy who feels guilty when he’s reading books because there are so many things on his to do list.
I’m that guy who is balding and pretends he doesn’t care.
I’m that guy who sometimes can’t find a book in the Old Testament (which makes him feel like less of a pastor).
I’m that guy who wants tons of readers on his blog.
I’m that guy who is trying to figure out how to order his life.
I’m that guy who watches too much TV.
I’m that guy who feels like he is imposing on friends so he doesn’t ask for stuff.
I’m that guy who has great intentions, but knows the road they pave.
I’m that guy who can’t stop snacking at night but hates it when his pants are too tight.
I’m that guy who needs to remember to point people to Jesus instead of himself.
I’m that guy who doesn’t spend enough time in solitude because it freaks him out.
I’m that guy who just realized he should share this list in church during the next series but doesn’t want to.
I’m that guy who is too concerned with what people think.
I’m that guy who needs to watch his thought life more.
I’m that guy who loves to mountain bike but hasn’t ridden a single trail this year.
I’m that guy who doesn’t affirm other people enough but needs too much affirmation himself.
I’m that guy who has New Kids On The Block “The Right Stuff” playing on iTunes right now.
