How to Enable MMS & 3G Tethering on iPhone OS 3.0 GM Build 7A341

The above blog mentions this is for Windows machines, however I’m running the following version of iTunes and it worked just fine with the GM Developer Release.

I have not yet tried the process on windows, however on mac, I simply downloaded this file, renamed the file to remove the .zip extension, and did an Option + Restore click to select and apply the new carrier file.  After a quick reboot, teathering works flawlessly and MMS is still spotty, but all the features are there.  Note I also tried this on a 2G phone and it did not work, the phone still works fine but the features are missing.  I plan on doing this with my new 3GS when it comes in the mail tomorrow as well.  Here are some screenshots below.

Enjoy this at your own risk, I’m not responsible if you create an Apple Paperweight or rack up 5 grand in fees, but as far as I can tell, this seems like a harmless tweak.

I can’t be the only one that is getting sick of these.. Now Facebook & Google are the worst.  My favorite is when FB asks me to go through 2-3 of these before it accepts my link, and then half the time ends up having an AJAX error and not posting it anyhow.

I miss the days of webcrawler when the whole internet was spam, but at least we didn’t have to be challenged before clicking submit.

As a rule, I follow everyone back who follows me, I’m not an Internets rockstar and feel like I have to be an idiot to the world like, most, everyone, else, does. That is, of course, excluding Colbert.  However in my book, the minute i get these, that constitutes a swift reply mentioning how annoyed I am with people who abuse twitter for that, followed by a block. It’s not much but, hey, why not make a point.

With great popularity, comes great abuse online.

Ponta dos Ganchos Resort, Brazil

Located on a private peninsula along Brazil’s Southern coast and part of the esteemed Relaix & Chateaux group, Ponta dos Ganchos ranks among one of the world’s most exclusive resorts. Our accommodations consisted of two of the four recently-opened Emerald Villas—spacious bungalows (nearly 2500 square-feet) kitted out with an infinity plunge pool, dry sauna and whirlpool bath, among other amenities. With sweeping views of the bay, dotted with Oyster traps and the occasional fishing boat, we couldn’t get enough lounging on the private deck while listening to music on the surround sound speakers (a custom CD of Brazilian music is yours for the taking) and taking frequent dips in the pool to cool off.

Indoors, a huge and inviting sectional couch (great for watching movies that are available for check-out), a king-size bed with 600 thread count sheets, as well as a Nespresso coffee maker, well-stocked minibar and wine cellar offer plenty of other options for hanging out. Other less obvious features, such as dual showers with glass walls that lend the feeling of bathing al fresco and two separate WCs, make every little experience an enjoyable one.

While the romance and seclusion of the Villas is unrivaled, Ponta dos Ganchos provides a host of other ways to enjoy your time there. We spent several hours lounging on the private beach, sipping caiprinhas and snacking on food served by the attentive staff. (All food is included while alcohol is not.) In addition to beachside dining, the seven-course breakfast, served on a deck overlooking the ocean, is a great way to enjoy a meal too. Dinners in the restaurant specialize in seafood and haute interpretations of local cuisine, which can also be reserved by couples on the private island.

A swim across the bay to the tiny island is a welcome diversion, but sailing, fishing, an indoor heated pool, tennis, snorkeling, a game room and more are all available for the taking as well. We opted for a decidedly more lazy approach and booked massages (not included in the price) at the Dior spa, which—set along the edge of the peninsula in canopied open-air rooms—was an unforgettable treat.

HCwDB: The Show

Exciting news to announce, fellow ‘bag hunters, huntresses, hotts and hott appreciators.

Starting in June on MTV, Hot Chicks with Douchebags is going televisual.

Yes your humble narrator has been hard at work for the past year taking the HCwDB Experience to the next proverbial level. I created a reality show pitch inspired by the website, MTV bought it, and we shot the pilot last Fall.

With a pick up in January, we are now in full-on production to take our battle of the scrote to the next level.

As “Douchebag” remains titularly challenging, the show is called Is She Really Going Out With Him?, and yes, we’ve updated the classic Joe Jackson song in all its goodness.

As a creator and Executive Producer of the show, I can guarantee that the high traditions of HCwDB will continue in the reality TV format. I’m very happy with how it’s turning out, and think both long time fans as well as new viewers will dig it.

There will be more about this project shortly, but MTV was nice enough to let me announce it here first. Look for the trailer, which starts airing on MTV today.

On another note, there will be be an announcement about the book-to-film, with yours truly writing the script, in the next few months as well. Stay tuned as year #3 of the HCwDB experience takes things to the next level of global domination and cultural shift.
