I am one of those who’s passionate about electronics and I like to try new products all the time. In a world where technology is changing constantly, we always thrive for the latest electronic device to add a touch to our lifestyle. I came across the Sennheiser PXC350

I fly on a regular basis and therefore I like to listen to music to kill the time, especially on long journeys. When your mind is occupied the time goes faster. So this is why I need a convenient set of headphones such as the Sennheiser PXC350. I have been using Bose headphones for quite some time now and I got used to them but after a research on noise cancelling headphones I spotted the new Sennheiser PXC350 and decided to give them a go. This is what I found:

The good stuff

· High-end product designed for excellent sound quality

· Good noise-cancellation

· Brilliant sound

· Comfortable to wear

· Portable

The bad stuff

· Quite bulky

· Expensive for those who are on a tight budget.

What about Noise Cancellation?

I’m not an expert in technology and therefore I can only give you a basic description of the functionality of the Sennheiser PXC350. If you want a more detailed description, there are websites who will give you with all the technical aspects of the PXC350.

Thanks to NoiseGard technology, unlike ordinary headphones, the noise called unwanted ambient noise or, if you prefer, acoustic noise, is cancelled out via active noise control. This feature guarantees that people will not hear your music and you will not hear anything from outside as the noise is cancelled out.

The Sennheiser PXC350s can cancel repetitive noise and they are, by far, very good for this. They can also cancel air cabin noise. All the Sennheisers are fitted with a relatively tight seal around your ear which reduces how much noise the active-cancellation part needs to deal with.

In terms of noise cancellation, they work absolutely fine. I recently wore them on a long flight and I didn’t experience any disturbance at all. I could wear them with no music playing but with the noise-cancellation enabled and they worked fantastically well. Some cabin noise still filtered through, but the difference between enabled and disabled was very dramatic. I consider them the best noise-cancelling heaphones!

As for comfort?

Comfort was important as I wanted to wear these headphones for long flights and also at work during the day. The Bose Quiet Comfort 2 and 3 headphones which I put to the test were not as comfortable as the Sennheiser PXC350s. Although they are smaller and look more attractive than the Sennheiser’s,

I find the Sennheiser PXC350s more comfortable, even if they’re a little large. With the size of the cups which are a normal size for a full-size set of headphones, there is plenty of room for your ears. To test them I wore them at my desk and on long flights and they excellent.

Sound

Sound quality is paramount when you pay a high price for a set of headphones, believe me, when it comes to sound the PXC350s does what it says on the tin. They sound incredibly rich, with both subtlety and strong bass. They’re beat their Bose rivals in this regard.

Portability

These Sennheiser’s aren’t tiny. Obviously in-ear noise-cancelling headphones, including the Bose ones, are better for portability as they are smaller. However, the Sennheiser PX350s fold flat for storage and the carrying case is fairly small… maybe a 1/4 larger than the Bose QC2 case. You’ll need a reasonably-sized bag to take them with you on a trip though.

In the Android world, we often wonder why new smartphones still come in the older versions like the 1.5 Cupcake and the 1.5 Donut when you already have the latest 2.1 Éclair. What defines this new Android experience is its MOTOBLUR content delivery service in the QUENCH. Among other things, it synchronizes your contacts, media content and communications trail with your social networking activities a single home screen location. It also comes with SWYPE text input feather from the same guys who invented T9 predictive text that you find in all mobile phones.

You just swipe or trace with a finger the letters across a virtual QWERTY keyboard on its touchscreen, and the word gets spelled for you. Multimedia also comes with a new features where media players can connect online to download new media content while playing them with other 3rd party apps like Tune Wiki, SoundHound, GoTV and YouTube.

There’s also FM stereo streaming. The QUENCH improves its telephony experience with dual microphones and noise cancellation technology for crystal clear voice calls. Finding information on the phone or online is supported with voice-activated search that launches Google Web search.

Apart from these innovative features, the Motorola QUENCH sports the same upscale features you can find the smartphones with the latest Android versions. It’s a 3G phone on the triple band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA and also a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE on 2G. It comes with WiFi, A-GPS and the usual Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP for local data transfers. You get a 3.1-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with accelerometer and proximity sensors that also allow pinch-zoom function.
