Although some users prefer Fring, you can always turn to the default app that should not give the users problems. If the case may be that you are calling from Vodacom to Vodacom then the charged prices are the same as your current voice plan but if you are making a call to MTN from Vodacom then a flat rate is charged depending on your current voice plan – to get the prices of what is going to be charged then refer to your service provider.

To make a video call with the default Nokia N8, go to the contact you wish to communicate with, you will see “video call” and the number beneath it – click it to initiate the call.

If the recipient doesn’t wish to use video then you will only receive the voice and will be shown either an image or a blank screen.

Is Skype, Fring or the default app better? What do you use?

Now that Belle has been here for a while, and Skype here for a while for Nokia – the features are improved, with better connectivity and user interface. The same basic features that are always available such as calls and and chatting – the updated prices are always available on the Skype website.

This hack can be confusing if you don’t follow the steps exactly or if you decide to take a shortcut perhaps and add your own touch. The Nokia N8 device that had to go through this was completely fine after the try, if you have problems then try the guide again or your N8 just doesn’t like eing played with.

Download the following Hack Norton Nokia N8 and extract all that is there. Install NortonSymbianHackLDD.sis and proceed to Options/Anti-Virus/Quarantine list and restore all that is in there, no worries at all as they are not viruses but just files. Returning back to the extracted files, RomPatcherPlus_3.1_LiteVersion.sisx and allow all patches to work. Follow your way to the options and click “add to auto” for each, even though you will have to restart your Nokia N8 – they will remain active.

Lastly for the extracted files, install X-Plore and clock in at the configuration which you have to go to the menu and then tools first and enable the first four options, find installserver.exe and copy it to C/SYS/BIN.

After receiving the Nokia N8 and with his own device, he decided to create 3D images at first; after getting bored of the images, he moved on to 3D videos which is hard if you are not able to keep the cameras steady.

The concept of 3D is that the usual 2 cameras record in such a way that the left camera can only be seen by the left eye and the right camera can only be seen by the right eye. To assist with this, tilt your head if necessary but try to cross your eyes between the images. Stereoscopic images and Anaglyph images is old technology if put next to the polarization technology used with today’s 3D movies and pictures, the user here created  stereoscopic images with his Nokia N8 devices.

The glasses that come with blue and red paper are needed to see the 3D images well and out of blur, Anaglyph images need the glasses due to the colours. Similarly to the stereoscopic images, 2 images are taken but they are not placed by each other, rather they are edited to be semi transparent and played on top of each other, the images taken are  tinted in the colour of the lens of the glass.

During the time when you are taking pictures, if you take a picture 1 in a certain position and picture 2 in a different position then when you pile them or place them next to each other – they won’t give the 3D effect that you want.

The users first attempt was a fail, once again – both Nokia N8 devices must be in the same position but of course that is hard – the user then made a contraption for both devices.

Similar to the way that if you put a finger infront of you face and focus on it, the background blurs meaning that if you focus one camera to an object then the other camera appears blurred.

Sometimes you may be in the lounge and wish to access a file to perhaps check your schedule or you need your computer for any reason. Although you may have a laptop, it is always handy to have Kinoni Remote Desktop on your Nokia N8 which allows smooth control of your desktop but on your device! The developers claim that this app is the fastest PC remote control app but after using a couple of these apps, there isn’t much difference in speed but rather usability.

The users that have left comments mention that this is a recommended app which deserves 5 stars, after using this app : in the beginning where I was asked to enter the IP, I was confused on which IP as I didn’t know if I should have received something or something is missing, I am a victim of not reading carefully – others have also been in the same place; one has to download the drivers from the Kinoni website which is only available for Windows.

After trying these headphones with several different devices such as the Blackberry Storm 2, Blackberry 8520 Curve, Nokia N900 – the sound quality remains the same, perhaps the actual headphones aren’t equipped with the kind of technology that the Ministry of Sound headphones feature – the high quality sound that it delivers.

In the beginning, it may be hard to adjust and the headphones can be abit uncomfortable for the user but eventually one will get used to it. The headphones are not wireless so it will seem like you have a wire sticking out of your ear, the connector of the headphone to the Nokia N8 is abit uncomfortable but with the correct adjustment, one will enjoy the warmth and comfortability.

The headphones feature a volume control near the 3.5mm jack for the Nokia N8, as well as a small clip that you can use to clip onto yourself so that the wire doesn’t get tangled.

With the advantage of Timeseal on the FICS, the user will not have the transmission time counted against them as what Timeseal does is record your thinking time then warn the FICS about it thus improving usability. At some cases, I have exited games and applications by mistake thus loosing my content but with Chess Lite on my Nokia N8, the app always asks me if I want to save my gameplay.

Need for Speed The Run is an improved version of the previous Need for Speed games, the series of this game has always been based on a story towards the player racing in different regions, unlocking cars during the odyssey and achieving higher status. One of the features that I found annoying was the way I had to brake and steer as their is no motion sense movement; one has to press the brake disc located on the lower right of the display.

I personally and users that have submitted their opinions in the Nokia Store that NFS Shift is better than The Run, a drawback is that while I was playing : the graphics were slow thus making the gameplay slow and freezing the race. During the other NFS games, the player was able to unlock more than 7 cars but in this game, the player is only allowed to unlock up to the 7 cars available.

Which NFS game is the best for you?

.I personally do recommend this app but if you forget passwords easily, then a second thought should be considered for your case. If the case may be that you have forgotten the password then perform a back up of your device, then fully format it to remove all the effects or just uninstall the app but all its effects won’t be removed.

When I personally tried out this app, I had no difficulty in during usage although it would be annoying to input the password frequently. The smoothness, effectiveness of my Nokia N8 remained its status.
