Last month, Nokia started rolling out Lumia Black updates for Lumia WP8 devices. AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020 was the first device to receive the update. WPDang today reported that Nokia is planning to begin Black update roll out in China from next week Wednesday. The update will be first available for Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 users followed by other devices in the coming months.

Nokia Lumia Black update will include features like the ability to customize glance screen text color, imaging quality improvements, RAW image support for Lumia 1020, Bluetooth 4.0 support and more.

Nokia Lumia 1020 Camera Specs: Reframing, Zoom Features from Sydney, Australia in New Nokia Video for 41 Megapixel Sensor Camera.

Nokia launched a new video for the Lumia 1020, and the focus was on the 41-megapixel sensors' zoom and reframe features.

As seen on the Nokia Australia YouTube account, Nokia Training Manager Belinda presented to the viewer Hyde Park, the location of the Sydney Tower. The significance of the tower is its 1020-feet tall.

The goal of the video was to show how to zoom and reframe from the Sydney Tower using the Lumia 1020 smartphone.

Although Belinda could've taken a snapshot as far was 80 kilometers far, her mission was to take images of the city below. Belinda took an image of nearby buildings and parkland.

With the Lumia 1020, she showed how users can share the photo as well as reframing the image by either zooming in or tilting the angle. Belinda also showcased the various aspect ratios the Lumia 1020 offers.

The video concluded with two snapshots by Belinda before and after reframing.

The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The device includes a rear-facing camera with a 41-megapixel sensor and front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The smartphone also packs a 2,000mAh battery.

In regards to prices, in the U.S., mobile carrier AT&T's official website has the Lumia 1020's priced at $199.99. The aforementioned price is valid when signing a two-year contract with mobile carrier. The online Microsoft Store is also selling the Lumia 1020 for $199.99 and can go up to $610 for a no-contract deal.

Amazon.com is also selling the Windows Phone 8 smartphone for $100 less. Amazon has the Lumia 1020 for $99.99 for new customer signing with AT&T. The price is also valid with existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade their device or add a new line of service regardless if its an individual plan or family plan.

Nokia's rumoured Android smartphone 'Normandy' surfaces again.

It seems that rumours about Nokia’s maiden Android smartphone dubbed ‘Normandy’ won’t just die as new leak shows up the alleged smartphone in all its colourful glory.

The latest leak comes from none other than @evleaks and it falls in line withearlier reports that the Finnish company’s first smartphone will be available in 2014 in different colours.

The press render shows off Normandy in multiple colours including Red, White, Blue, Yellow and Black indicating that the handset could very well be given Lumia branding.

From what we have been able to gather, Nokia will be revamping Android and will give it a look and feel similar to that of Windows Phone. The Lumia maker will also ensure that the customized platform promotes apps from Microsoft and Nokia rather than Google.

Persistent Normandy leaks indicate that Nokia’s Android plans haven’t been neutralized by Microsoft and that Redmond may also be willing to out Android powered smartphones to increase its market share.

Exclusive: Nokia pulls out buggy Here Maps app from Apple store.

Blaming changes in iOS 7 that "harm user experience", Nokia has quietly pulled out its Here Maps from Apple's iOS App Store. The app, which was launched amid much fanfare in November 2012, was removed earlier this month.

The company's official website (http://here.com/download) redirects non-Windows users to here.com to access the maps. However, the site, which works fine on a PC, was broken when accessed from an iPhone at the time of filing this report.

When approached for a comment, a Nokia spokesperson sent The Indian Express an official statement. It read, "We have made the decision to remove our HERE Maps app from the Apple App Store because recent changes to iOS 7 harm the user experience. iPhone users can continue to use the mobile web version of HERE Maps under m.here.com., offering them core location needs, such as search, routing, orientation, transit information and more, all completely free of charge."

Following the sale of the company's hardware division to Microsoft, Here Maps has become one of three main businesses owned by Nokia. Microsoft bought a 10-year licence for Here Maps, which are pre-installed on Nokia's Windows Phone range.

Before it was pulled from Apple's App Store, Here Maps was a buggy app. We tested the app on three Apple devices and it was unusable on all of them. The design of Here Maps on iOS was reminiscent of Nokia's Symbian operating system, while the Windows Phone variant has a much cleaner, modern look.

When zooming in and out on the iOS version, Here Maps had a critical bug that froze the app. When it did not freeze, it would either zoom in to maximum or do the exact opposite. The app would not settle on medium zoom so that users could look for alternative routes or directions.

Nokia Lumia 525 price, review: Nokia’s line of budget-friendly devices welcomes the the Lumia 525 in the fold, which is now available in Singapore and will be released in India next month. The follow-up to the best-selling Lumia 520 is being sold for SGD 249 in Singapore or approx. $189.

Specs of 4-inch IPS LCD display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset and 1GB of RAM are some of the features that the Nokia Lumia 525 sports. It will also have 8GB internal storage with 64 GB expandable storage slot and a 1430 mAh battery. Connectivity options of the 3G handset include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro USB 2.0. Mobile Indian notes that the device also has a 5 megapixel rear camera with f/2.4 aperture.

The Nokia Lumia 525 has an upgraded RAM capacity, which means more compatible games and apps compared to its predecessor, according to WP Central. Other specs of the device include a 5-megapixel camera and an expandable storage with microSD slot.

The new Nokia Lumia 525 is also proving to be different from the 520 by being released in shiny colors. The budget-friendly handset comes in glossy orange, white, and yellow. WP Central notes that Matte black is also available for a more subtle look. The shells can be interchanged, making it easy for you to choose the color that you’d like.

It’s still uncertain when the Nokia Lumia 525 will be available in other regions, but with its price, it’s poised to go head to head with the $179 Moto G that Motorola has released in Brazil and other parts of Europe.

The affordable Android-powered handset from Motorola sports a 4.5-inch LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, has a 5-megapixel camera and begins at 8GB in internal storage.

Many have said described the Nokia Lumia 525 as the most important Windows phone released this year, defying norms when handset makers’ highest-end and most expensive devices are usually the highlight of their launches.
