Nokia bringing touchscreen to N-Series?

At a Nokia event in New Delhi, Devinder Kishore was stated on saying We will have lot of touchscreen phones coming up, including an
N-series device very soon. I would think that this statement posts some truth because he is the director marketing for Nokia India. Sure it would have been dumb for us to even think that Nokia dosen't already have one of these bad boys in a prototype and testing. Warm your fingers up readers because this could be the next N98? Nokia....are you listening? We aren't asking much just a touchscreen N98 with 8gb of memory, 3.5 screen, 8 megapizel camera w/ xenon flash, GPS, Wifi, Accelormeter, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and of course a 3.5mm headphone jack all in a little bundle of joy for your consumers in 2009.

Did I cover the features you would want? If not tell us what you would want in a new N-Series Touchscreen device.

Firmware Update: E90 V300.34.84

While drinking my coffee this morning and looking at fellow Nokia websites I caught wind of a new firmware update for the Nokia E90 from AllaboutSymbian (http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/8248_The_E90_Communicator_hits_v300.php).

Not having this device I have to rely on what Allaboutsymbian stated seeing a faster orientation switching when you open and close the lid, Nokia Maps 2.0, Download application updated, Cosmetic Upgrades, Update with Flast Lite and Video, Improvements in WiFi, Improvements to VOIP, FLV format support for the realplayer. Many thanks to them for this post.

I know not many of us are graced with this device but for those who are this seems like an update you probably don't want to miss. If you have updated and experienced different items not mentioned drop us a line and give us an update.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/nokiausers/AcCj/~4/417808065" height="1" width="1"/>

E66 Hands on Review (We like what we see)

Erazer007 has posted a reveiw of his experience with the new E series device and the successor to the E65 on his website Cellular: Nokia E66 Review (http://erazer007.wordpress.com/2008/10/07/nokia-e66-review-the-apprentice-by-erazer007/) and at N95users (http://www.n95users.com/forum/lounge/18930-nokia-e66-review.html) . Erazer007 stated that Nokia has definately come through on creating a device that is better than the E65. Adding the autofocus, led flash, and faboulus design are just a few key features pointed out in the review. Not to mention people with big fingers can actually type easily with the device; I second that type of design any day. Well if you have used an E66 and have any input, tell us what you think or head on over to N95users and tell the community of your expereince. Thanks to Wom World (http://www.womworld.com/nokia/) for lending Erazer007 an E66 to get a hands on review and use this new device.

Nokia Changes Course

Nokia just announced that it
is indeed focused on the consumer market and plans to reallocate resources and
possibly sell some of the critical aspects of the enterprise.

According to a representative, their first
order of business is to stop the development and marketing of in-house business
mobility products, including the enterprise email service.

Instead, Nokia plans to rely
on prominent enterprise vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco and IBM. The company believes this will allow them to
use internal expertise and technologies for developing and marketing its new
push email service.

Additionally, Nokia
also reports being in deep discussions regarding the sale of the company&rsquo;s
security solutions business to a third-party investor. Nokia believes that the business will benefit
tremendously under new ownership.

Another announcement involves
a patent agreement between Nokia, Nokia Siemens Networks

and Huawei. This comprehensive agreement details global
use of all standards essential patents of all involved parties including
CDMA2000, GSM, WCDMA, datacom, optical networking and WiMax in portable
devices, services and infrastructure.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/nokiausers/AcCj/~4/417605929" height="1" width="1"/>

Nokia Renews Its Commitments

Focused on providing internet
services for consumers and setting industry trends, Nokia announced that it
would be renewing its strategy in the terms of business mobility. The company plans to set its sights on
delivering high quality solutions to the market by further strengthening its
relationships with today&rsquo;s leading technology developers.

proper expertise and technologies to their new consumer-based push email
service. Furthermore, Nokia has plans of
combining its devices and applications with solutions from prominent vendors
such as Cisco, IBM and Microsoft among others.

Aside from focusing on the

Nokia Comes With Music!!

Nokia recently unveiled Comes
With Music in the U.K. Millions of tracks will be available for
download and can be transferred right to your mobile handset or PC.

As Nokia is advertising unlimited access to
millions of songs, the released statement claims that you can keep this music
on your portable device forever.

Comes With Music is offered
on a yearly subscription. Once your
subscription has expired, the music is still yours to keep. From there you can sign up for another
subscription and receive access to all the new releases.

Unlimited access will undoubtedly be the
driving point to the service but there has been word of potential restrictions.

According to a statement,
downloads will only be restricted when they are considered not to be used for
personal enjoyment or if the customer is using unsupported programs or
connection methods.

It goes on to say
that if usage exceeds predefined levels, Nokia is then allowed to place
restrictions on the downloads of particular users. Customers will also be required to register
their PC and Nokia handset to the Comes with Music account before tracks can be
downloaded.

Comes with Music is scheduled
to launch October 16.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/nokiausers/AcCj/~4/415574050" height="1" width="1"/>

Nokia Mobile Web Designed for Every Market

Nokia, the global leader in
mobile handsets, is embarking on a new mission - conquering the world of mobile
web technology. While Apple has led the
way with its iPhone, Nokia is looking to take the spotlight back with a new
lineup of web friendly mobile phones that Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia vice president,
says is suitable for every market.

Vanjoki and his associates
are starting with the 5800 Express Music, more commonly known as &ldquo; The
Tube&rdquo;. The company&rsquo;s first touchscreen
phone, the unit has a shape and display similar to the iPhone, yet will cost
considerably less than Apple&rsquo;s popular device.
Additionally, the new Nokia phone will include a year long subscription
to a music service that allows customers to download music from the top four
record labels.

Nokia isn&rsquo;t stopping with the
5800 as the company plans to regularly launch a series of touchscreen mobile
phones in the upcoming months. Vanjoki
stands confident that Nokia can overwhelm Apple and other competitors simply
because they have the technology to do it faster than any other
manufacturer. As Apple is still a major
player and the iPhone remains prevalent, it will be interesting to see how the
battle plays out.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/nokiausers/AcCj/~4/414604779" height="1" width="1"/>
