Launching a business website requires more preparation than most people think. Signing up with a web hosting provider, getting Web Design Quote for your website’s front end, and deploying Internet Marketing campaigns to promote your website are some of the things you need to make your business website visible on search engines – and as we all know it (or should know it) visibility in search engine result pages is the key for driving in targeted traffic (and buying customers.)

With that being said, it’s important for you to do the due diligence in starting a business website. Here are some pointers for you:

1. Sign up with a proper web hosting provider

Not all web hosting provider are created the same – there are web hosting providers that sucks and there are those that offer high quality solutions. Obviously, you want to sign up with web hosting provider offering you the best value for money. Shop around, read reviews and decide wisely.

2. Get web design quote

Your front-end design is as important as your business logo – it should portray what your brand is all about; poorly designed front-end means you are already losing the game. You must hire the right web designer (and developer) to get the front-end that grabs prospects and actually convert them into buyers but doesn’t cost you the world. So, again, shop around and get web design quotes to compare and help you decide.

3. Promote your business brand

Internet Marketing is the key in getting your brand buzzed on the web. It comprises many aspects, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing (SMM), link building, press release distribution, and many more. Hiring someone or a company who can offer you multiple Internet marketing solutions will typically give you the most bang of your buck.

So, there you go – 3 things to take care in getting your business website known. Last but not least, you should consider hiring a professional company that can offer you all of those, from web design to SEO. Such company will cost you more, but their experience and professionalism pays-off quickly.

Angelfire. Geocities. Tripod. Easyspace. Stop me if I’m going too far. These are some of the names that consumer level Web denizens learned about Web hosting. I’d offer a link to the first site I ever built, a 5-page mess I built in 7th grade featuring stories about my friends, if I didn’t feel like you would cease to take me seriously for the rest of this post.

My point is web hosting has existed for a long time, and a generation of computer-savvy youngsters was introduced to the awkward, confusing world of Web hosting at a time when our own troublesome clumsiness was difficult to deal with.

I’d like to think that hosting and I have both matured equally. I have a job, drive a car and maintain a serious bonsai garden. Meanwhile, hosting has evolved into a metropolitan industry that has made itself essential to the data-driven world in which we live.

Now, in an era where companies would be remiss to forego a digital presence, a digital metropolis of hosting providers and options has sprung up offering different flavors of hosting for the endless types of web existences there are. If you’re considering what you need in web hosting and weighing your options, here is a basic rundown of what’s at the table.

Simple

There are many organizations and institutionalized blogs that run their operations from Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr or any of the other free-to-play blog hosting services. For an annual fee, the domain can be purchased. Ten years ago, it’d be hard to imagine a serious website being hosted on the Xanga services, but the Internet has evolved into an amoebic creature that turns its head toward granular customization. Now there are plugins, integration, OpenGraph API, protocols and all the other jargon that means your home page can be anywhere. This works out well for independent vendors, musicians, budding writers and the like, but if you’re Sears, you probably need a more comprehensive solution.

Enterprise

While it’s hard to say that in-house servers have been the most “popular” mode of hosting, they have certainly been the dominant one over the past 10 years. Large companies with sufficient funds can buy the servers that their sites are hosted on, which is beneficial because it gives them full control over the infrastructure. Server administrators have access to every resource on the server and can apply them where they see fit, whether that’s developing a customer info database, hosting multiple website or what have you.

That control does come at a price. Literally. Servers are not cheap, and neither is storing them, maintaining them, updating them or hiring a team of professionals to do it for you.

A result of that is server rental, wherein a business can pay a company that owns a warehouse of servers to host the site and maintain it for them. This has a lower buy-in rate, and companies can elect how much storage space, bandwidth and whatever else they need and pay for it on a regular (read: monthly, yearly) basis.

Cloud

The new wave in hosting is the cloud. You’ve no doubt heard the phrase “cloud computing” ad nauseum, so I won’t go into the nitty gritty details, save to say that those who elect for cloud service are treated to a scalable hosting solution. What does that mean? With the server options mentioned above, your site can be susceptible to crashes, limited resources and the general tedium/cost/burden of running a server. The cloud pulls resources from an ostensibly infinite pool to scale to your needs and you only pay for what you use. It’s a more dynamic and flexible server solution for hosting sites or applications that could get very popular or experience substantial flux.

The cloud has been in the consumer market since Gmail went out of beta and now a number of lifestyle applications and websites depend on the cloud’s functionality to deliver the experiences they promise. Does that make the cloud the de facto solution for every company’s needs? Not exactly, but it does offer quite a few benefits for small businesses and enterprise corporations, which is such a large chunk of the market that it’s not likely that we’ll see the cloud evaporate anytime soon.

There are a number of companies that can provide these services (and more!) but my job is simply to let you know what’s available to you; “I can only show you the door…” and all that. The options are many, but the first step is to identify what you want out of your web presence – an e-commerce site? Youtube 2? A collection of retro handheld games remade for the web? Once you know what you want, choose the option that best suits your needs, your price and maybe even where you want to go.

Type the word “hosting” into Google or any other search engine and it won’t be long before you find all sorts of special offers from web hosting price comparison websites. You will then undoubtedly be pleasantly surprised to find out that web hosting has become relatively inexpensive, averaging at less than $5.00 per month (£3.14), depending on the terms of your contract.

Thinking Long Term

The most important thing to remember when you’re shopping around is to think long term. How long do you intend to host your website for? And even more importantly, what your website will look like in 2 to 10 years? These are the questions you really need to ask yourself before choosing a web host.

Indeed, although most web hosting companies will happily keep hosting your site at the same monthly price stated in your initial contract, some will change the amount they charge you as soon as your initial contract period has elapsed, depending on how popular your website is and how much bandwidth you and your visitors are using up.

Competitive Prices

The growing number of web hosting companies has made prices in the field become really competitive and services more appealing than ever. This is often good news for professional website builders, but it can mean trouble for beginners. The key is not to skip past the fine print. Make sure you understand the terms of your contract, from duration of the contract to disk space and email storage. Going over your limits may result in a cessation of services or in some cases, an additional fee to your monthly charge.

Shopping for Bonuses

Before launching into any of that however, you should start off by considering what it is you need and shopping around based on your specific requirements. Remember that some web hosting companies do not show up in price comparison websites and in only a few extra clicks, you might find them to be cheaper and better suited to the kind of deal you are looking for.

You’ll also soon discover that most deals come with a wide range of bonus features, which can definitely help your decision-making process. Most offers will come in the form of discounted prices for an initial period, but they can also come in the form of Facebook AdCredits, 24/7 technical support or unlimited use of your host’s website builder.

For just £1.30 you could get an “economy” deal from a well-known web hosting provider for any duration from three to 36 months. For that price, you will get 10 GB of disk space, up to a hundred email addresses and up to 100 MB of email storage. On top of these, you can get a multitude of other features such as unlimited external domains, 25 sub-domains, blog compatibility, 24/7 phone and email support, $50 worth of Facebook Ad Credits (which you might consider using to start driving traffic to your new website) and much more.

More Money, More Options

The main difference you will notice between this deal and a more expensive one is that for just a few pounds more, you should get all of the advantages listed above (and more) but exponentially bigger. So for instance a £4.49 per month contract with a minimum duration of just 1 month will allow you up to 150 GB of disk space, 500 email addresses and up to 500 MB of email storage. You’ll also be entitled to use that disk space allowance to host up to 400 sub-domains and an unlimited number of other websites (as opposed to the single domain in the previous deal).

To work out the average competitive price of web hosting, we could use the top 10 offers from a variety of price comparison websites. On the date this article was written (12th of April 2012), that average price was just under £3.14. Of course this average price in no way reflects what kind of value for money you would get as a website owner because as we have established, a good deal is more about the bonus features in your contract than the basic specifications you get for your monthly fee.

Whatever your website hosting needs if you follow this advice you are sure to find a reliable hosting deal to suit your needs.

Starting up a website as a business is a bit different from starting one for your personal endeavor. There are some things you need to address when in starting a business website. This article will guide you how to establish a business website in the right way.

1. Choose the right web hosting partner

There are so many web hosting providers today – a bit too many, I think. Choosing one would be a trivial task. I suggest you to read web hosting reviews for a start. I recommend you to then look for Hostgator and Go Daddy Reviews, as I consider both as hosting companies with strong reputation.

2. Choose the right domain name

Not all domain names are purposed the same. Sure, you can buy any TLDs available, but bear in mind, the top three are always .com, .net, and .org. Unless you want to start a website using smart name, like Visual.ly, Chime.in, etc. – or you start a local website with AddLink.us, ApartmentGuide.ca, and the rest, please refrain using other TLDs than the big 3 I mention.

3. Use the right CMS (Content Management System)

Unless you want to create a website with static pages that you are not planning to update for a long time, I recommend you to use a Content Management System (CMS). There are plenty of choices, but some of the most popular ones are WordPress (self-hosted,) Joomla, Drupal, etc. I – of course – recommend WordPress as there are plenty of extensions to make your basic installation more powerful.

4. Use quality website design template

Whether you are using a template design or hiring a designer, be sure your website front-end design is top-notch, for some obvious reasons: It’s the first and foremost thing your visitors see when they visit your website. It yours is, um, not pleasing to the eyes, no matter what services or products your sell or what information you present, your design will naturally repel your visitors.

5. Optimize your website performance

Did you know that visitors only willing to wait for an average of 4 seconds for a page to fully loaded? That means your web pages should be able to be loaded in less than 4 seconds, or else, you end up losing potential customers. Of course, there are some exceptions, for instance if your site is a design site, then there should be more graphical elements displayed on your sites. However, you can still optimize your site loading time using various methods: Page caching, using image sprites, combining CSS/Javascript codes for less loading time, and sign up for a CDN (Content Delivery Network) to serve your site from a third party location for better loading speed.

There are endless tips on how to start a website properly, but those 5 are the must-do if you want to use your website for business purposes.

Starting a new business is no easy task. As an entrepreneur, you would need to insure that your startup is navigating legal channels while raising capital, that it is developing a product or service while simultaneously seeking out talented and dedicated workers. Everything happens all at once during this startup phase – budgets are made, advertising campaigns are planned, and manufacturers are sought, among many other things – and it is the task of the entrepreneur to balance all this and to do it well.

So it is perhaps understandable if you do not take immediate steps to create a website at this point. But, these days, having a website is a crucial means of communicating information about a new business, bringing in more exposure, and conveying a sense of legitimacy. In most industries and fields, then, it won’t be long before the need for a site becomes pressing. And, when that happens, you’ll likely turn to a web hosting service to help you get started.

While businesses of all sizes and standings will seek similar attributes when searching for a hosting service, there are a few unique factors that startups should keep in mind – and look for:

-A small business focus. Some web hosting services are targeted towards large corporations, meaning that they often overlook smaller clients while carrying a hefty price tag for services that a startup doesn’t need. It can be beneficial, therefore, to seek out a service that has an explicit small business focus. This way you’ll be more likely to get strong support at a low cost.

Free or included tech support. Your startup business likely doesn’t have the resources to employ a full-time IT or tech support person. When anything goes wrong with your website, you would then need to go through the hassle and the cost of contracting for outside services – unless, of course, you use a hosting provider that provides included tech support. Even if you never need such assistance you’ll likely sleep better knowing that you have an authoritative resource at your disposal.

Appealing design tools. As aforementioned, a new business establishes a website in large part to secure legitimacy and credibility among its consumer base. This legitimacy is best conveyed, however, when the site appears highly professional in both design and written content. While a hosting service certainly won’t write content for you, it can definitely provide design assistance and tools that make your site look better – and make your product seem superficially more viable as a result.

These are a few of the unique factors that an entrepreneur should keep in mind when researching a hosting service for his startup business. There are many such services out there, meaning that it is always best to investigate them with your individual needs in mind.

Finding the right webhost today is a trivial task. Web hosting has become such a commodity that web hosting providers are trapping themselves in price wars, offering server spaces at a price of a bag of peanuts – literally.

Many web hosting customers trap themselves into believing that most – if not all – web hosting providers are similar to equal in service quality; they think that all they need to do is now finding the lowest price tag possible.

I don’t know who told you about that, but that’s not true.

Finding the right web hosting provider means that you need to consider several things, such as its brand reputation, support quality, reliability and more. However, it’s resource intensive doing the research on your own.

The bottom line, you need to visit reputable hosting reviews site, such as HostingSitesReviews.com. Why? It’s simple – such hosting site reviews, rates and recommends web hosting providers for you, in term of value for money, customer support, etc. All you need to do now is to read the reviews and recommendations and decide based on what you see.

So, again, don’t trap yourself in the “cheaper is better” mindset. You must aim for the best value for money – including outstanding customer support just in case things go wrong, as cheap hosting is – typically – slacking in the customer support. Beware.

At Dotcom-Monitor, a person running a business will find all that they need to ensure that their business is always running as it should. They offer website monitoring that is going to make sure that they have the server uptime and the web server performance that they are paying for through their web host. If there are ever any problems, the company will immediately send notification of the problems to the website owner and make sure that the person knows that these are problems that need to be addressed.

The website will be monitored every one minute, which is a time that most companies are unable to provide and this is going to ensure that website is always at the best quality that it can be with a server uptime that the person needs to keep their business running. Server uptime is something that the person must have in a website if they want to ensure that they are not missing out on any potential clients. In addition, at specified periods of time, the person will receive a report on just how well their website is running and if there were any problems during the time in which the website was being monitored.

There are many big companies that call Dotcom-Monitor their website monitoring guru. Big names such as Sprint or TimeWarner. This shows that the company can perform to the level of any business and no business is too big for them to handle.

The prices of their packages are low cost, with many starting at fewer than ten dollars. The best part of what they offer is that people can pick and choose the services that they want in order to get the most value for their dollar. And the person is billed on a month to month basis, thus, they can cancel at any time if they are not satisfied. Though, most people that use this website monitoring company are more than thrilled with the results.

Web development services continue to accelerate rapidly. Businesses involved in this industry are currently able to reap the benefits of a wide variety of new tools that both streamline and automate the process of creating web development tools and distributing them across networks. From cloud services like multimedia integration, automated provisioning and LMS hosting to API and AJAX, this is an exciting time to be a web developer. Here are some of the top new tools for professionals working in the web development business:

Application builders

Application builders range in nature pretty dramatically depending on what function is needed, but almost any web development project anchored in 2.0 integration will benefit from the use of several app builders. DreamFace, for example, assists in the creation of customized Web apps while Organic Incentive facilitates the production of viral widgets through an easy drag-and-drop interface. Qrimp, which works very well with Excel, builds applications specific to your data. If you’re looking for something very easy you could go with Tersus, which requires the user to know virtually no coding or scripting.

Automated provisioning

Automated provisioning is the ability of customers and business clients to alter their telecommunications networks through a Web browser without the need to directly contact their providers. This type of service allows great consistency among development environments and reduces complications in system configuration and installations.

API

An API (or application programming interface) is a portfolio of protocols and tools for the creation of software applications. They are extremely helpful for programmers and nearly all operating environments have one. There are a number of excellent API-related tools out there now, including The Echo Nest, which hosts music-related development services, Clickatell, which is an SMS tool that allows your website to send messages, and Nonoba, an API for online game developers.

AJAX

Asynchronous JavaScript and XML is a portfolio of different web development tools that involves sending and receiving information. It is not a single system but several, often involving overlapping applications of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Some of the best AJAX tools out there work to integrate and streamline these different services. Frevvo, for example, is an Ajax for creator that supports XML. WaveMaker is an open source WYSIWYG editor. Jquery is a Javascript library that enhances Ajax development.

No matter what your web development business is focused on the tools listed above should be able to assist in both subtle and drastic ways. Incorporating these services and strategies, as well as adopting a cloud computing network, should make your company run faster and more efficiently.

Have you ever been a spot where you couldn’t afford to do what you wanted to do, when you wanted to do it? The answer to that question is most likely yes. Whether we make a decent income or not, we are always faced with the truth that we can’t always afford what we want. That’s why credit cards and car title loans exist! To give us money that we need to buy something when we can’t afford to pay for them cash. You might think it’s weird that I used car title loan as an example to getting extra money. Most of you would think that it’s a bad idea to use a car title loan, but I’m here to tell you why it’s not, and how it has worked for me.

A few months ago, I found myself online checking out different borrowing options. I needed a substantial amount of money, like $4000, to bring my girlfriend on a trip where I was going to propose to her. Since I had spent a lot of money on the ring, I had to get some extra cash for the trip and couldn’t get money anywhere else. For those of you who aren’t entirely sure what a title is, it’s a loan where to get money in exchange for putting up your car as collateral. Now wait a minute! Don’t start running yet. It’s actually a great way of getting money, and it really worked out for me. I was surprised to learn that the interest rate was low, I guess because you essentially sell them your car. But its not as bad as you might think. Title loan lenders, will assess your car and determine how much money to give you based on the year, model, and current condition of your car. I ended up getting the 4 grand that I was looking for, thankfully, my car is a 2008 and I have kept it in mint condition, so I was super stoked about it. I was really impressed with the quality of service I got from Gainsvilletitleloan.com. I couldn’t have been happier with the level of professionalism and quality customer care I received. I did not feel pressured or persuaded at all, and was able to work out a decent repayment plan with them that suited my income level perfectly. I was really impressed, especially since I was expecting something completely different.

I brought my girlfriend, now fiancée, to Jamaica to the Sandals resort and proposed to her while we swam with the dolphins, it was spectacular, and I couldn’t have wished for more, she was more than blown away. I haven’t told her I took out a loan and probably won’t, we’re not married yet, so she doesn’t have access to my finances, I plan on having it paid in full before that happens, lol. Over all I was super happy with this service and would definitely recommend to others. Just make sure you can afford it though or can really make a hole in your wallet.

When you set up your own website your biggest challenge will be in getting visitors to come to your site. One of the more successful ways of doing this is through what is known as search engine optimisation (SEO). Some search engines list their content on the basis of keywords contained in the website. These keywords are picked up by a search engine crawler. Google is a crawler based search engine which automatically places the various websites in an order of preference based on the strength of its keywords. It is your aim to have your site listed on the first page of any search engine result when your potential visitor types in your particular keyword, preferably at the top of that page. When you make changes to your website the crawler will eventually run across these changes and adjust your listing to reflect the changes.

Finding the most effective keywords is one of your biggest tasks if you are going to be successful in getting a high listing and this is where the Google keyword tool comes into its own. It assists you in seeing the search volumes, any estimated cost per click and the keyword competition. Carrying out keyword research in this way means that you can check the search volume of any specific keyword you might have in mind. For instance if the keyword you are thinking of using only gets eight or nine searches a month it will be of no value to you.

The Google keyword tool will also tell you the amount of competition your keyword might have to contend with. If it happens that your competition is going to be quite high then it indicates a lot of hard work before you will be able to get to the front in any listing. This means you will have to attach more information to the keyword to make it stand out better. For instance if you are selling vacuum cleaners, you would probably find a million other people are already using the words vacuum cleaners. If you want to target your particular sales to a certain area you would be better off prefacing your keywords with ‘your town’ vacuum cleaners, replacing the words ‘your town’ with the name of your own city or suburb. To get this type of assistance all you need do is to sign up to a Google account where you can see the keywords with the most value for your specific type of interest.

Using the Google Keyword Tool

Once you have successfully opened your Google account all you need do is to log in and take the following steps:

Choose your country and language. Open the Advanced Option and Filter tab and choose whichever country you want to appear in. This cuts back the competition from other countries around the world for which you would be wasting your time competing with for a higher listing.

Choose your keywords. If you are starting out and not quite sure at this stage what keywords would suit you best you can ask Google to do this for you. You do this by opening ‘Website Option’. This allows you to type in your URL and Google will come up with the keywords it thinks would be most appropriate for your site.

Matching your keywords. Your next move will be to target your keyword or keywords more precisely. After you click on search you will see a list of all your keywords come up on your screen as well as some others that Google thinks would also be of benefit. On the left hand side of this list you will see a box which has ‘exact match’ as one of the options. Click on this option. If you don’t do this you will be stuck with a broad search that will pick out your keywords wherever those words come up in the millions of websites out there. By refining the search to exact, only the words you have chosen will be picked up on. For instance ‘your town vacuum cleaners’ as against ‘vacuum cleaners.’ You will now see your exact keywords appear in brackets. The broad keyword option is better used if you are fishing around in the market and not quite sure how you want to target your site into any specific niche. For instance if you want to be listed more widely than being restricted to your own locality in selling your vacuum cleaners you will broaden your market, as every time someone uses the words vacuum cleaners, no matter what other words are used before and after, your keywords will be activated.

Open Site Explorer

Open Site Explorer is an independent site where you can easily check if your keywords are working for you and find out how your competitors are going. All you need do is to enter your URL and click on ‘search’ then click on ‘anchor text.’ The page that now comes up will display all the anchor texts being used, a feature you might be able to use to give your site a better chance of beating the competition.

The best way to learn how you can use the Google Keyword tool to your best advantage is to open an account and put it to use. You will become more competent as you become more familiar with its many advantages in helping to get your website a higher listing where it is exposed to more traffic.

<p>Some small businesses have started to experience the move towards cloud computing across nearly all industries. The term cloud computing has long been misinterpreted and remains misunderstood by smaller companies.</p>
<p>Some business owners believe that it is a vague infrastructure term while others think that it refers to a branch of information technology that does not apply to brick-and-mortar companies. The reality, however, is that cloud computing is becoming the newest paradigm for the delivery of information services and it &#8230; <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.cloudbusinessreview.com/2012/05/18/cloud-computing-for-small-business-why-you-should-care.html" class="read_more">Click here to read more</a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/CloudBusinessReview/~4/2eU-Y-GpW7w" height="1" width="1"/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/noob-mash/~4/_Vp8cEyxRJs" height="1" width="1"/>

<p>The practice of using virtual data storage technology is termed as cloud computing. Cloud computing involves the use of internet for using the desired software.
What Does It Mean to Have a Cloud Based Phone Service?

 </a>
 </div>
<p>Cloud based phone services still use the same VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) method of making telephone calls as other VoIP providers such as Comcast and Vonage. The biggest difference is that with cloud based phone services, businesses do not need any type of hardware such a modems, PBX boxes, adapters, etc. The service provider hosts all the additional network hardware that the business needs to make phone calls over the Internet.</p>
<h3>Advantages</h3>

<p>For many CIO&#8217;s today, the perceived barriers to Cloud computing remain security, regulation and compliance. Organizations seek reassurance on several points: accessing the Cloud will not compromise their security; their sensitive data and intellectual property will be protected; they can retrieve their data if they want to change Cloud provider, or their provider winds up operations; and they can maintain their customer service standards and competitive performance.</p>

<p>More and more people are shopping online. Almost daily it seems, the media publishes new, exciting information regarding the ever-booming ecommerce industry. People are buying goods from their PCs, their tablets and their smart phones, around the clock. Boxing Day 2011, for example, broke records for the amount of online shopping that took place.</p>
<p>To respond to this increasing demand, smaller ecommerce businesses need to adopt a robust system that can cope with peaks and troughs without costing the earth.
Local authorities across the UK are having to deal with reduced budgets as part of the Coalition Government’s moves to cut the public deficit. This means that they are being asked to do more with less, because most are also targeting improved efficiency and productivity so that taxpayers’ cash goes further.

The good news is that with modern technology solutions it is possible to take on budget limitations and still create a working environment that fosters productivity in ways that could not be achieved in the past.

Remote Working and the Cloud

One of the best ways to cut costs and enhance effectiveness in local government is to increase the flexibility of the working environment so that members of staff are not limited solely to solutions which require them to be in the office.

Both private and public sector organisations are coming around to the idea that, by allowing staff to work from home or while out and about, they will be better equipped to tackle these economically challenging times.

Cloud computing can be an asset in this respect because, by running apps and storing data on remotely accessible systems, it is possible for home workers or those on the move to be just as effective as they would be at their desk.

Contemporary cloud computing platforms offer organisations a number of flexible solutions so that a private or public set-up can be harnessed, or a hybrid approach can be taken to deliver the best of both worlds when it comes to security and scalability.

VoIP

Many forms of communication have migrated to the internet and making voice calls over a broadband connection rather than an analogue land line can be an inexpensive solution to the problems associated with providing adequate telecoms services in a local government setting.

Lower line rental costs, flexible capacities and cheaper internal and external calls are all key benefits of VoIP adoption.

VoIP also provides improved functionality when compared to bog standard telephone services, because it can be hosted in the cloud and thus allow for intelligent call routing. This will allow you to make members of staff accessible from a single number that points to the appropriate device depending on the situation.

As such, it is possible to take calls in the office, on a mobile phone or at home without having to hand out multiple, personal numbers in the process.

Mobile Technology

By equipping staff members with smartphones, the benefits of the cloud and VoIP are pulled together in a multifunctional package. Modern handsets allow you to send and receive e-mails and instant messages, as well as being able to access web-based services from a fully functioning browser or via dedicated applications.

Smartphones allow people to remain productive when they are out of the office and can be used to harness the cloud and even VoIP services so that there is a continuity between features available in the office and those that fit in the palm of your hand.

Security and Cost

It is worth pointing out that the expense of integrating in-house systems capable of matching the cloud blow for blow would be considerable, which makes it far easier to consider the idea of migrating services to third-party providers in the name of cost efficiency.

The economies of scale which govern the cloud when compared with internal systems also apply to security, with providers far better equipped to protect the physical and virtual integrity of precious information.

Since local governments have suffered embarrassment after serious cases of data loss or theft, looking to a more secure alternative which also saves money is therefore easy to recommend.

According to BBC News, HP – allegedly the world’s largest PC maker – is reportedly to cut 27,000 jobs by 2014 – approximately 8 percent of HP workforce. The cuts will help reducing HP’s operational costs by $3.5 billion a year.

The slash is meant to bring down costs due to the decline of it’s PC business and to answer the market trends that show no sign of slowing down for tablets and smartphones.

Perhaps the biggest driver of the cut is the plummeting revenue. HP has reported its second quarter earning of $1.59 million, a 31 percent drop from last year’s $2.3 billion.

Via a series of milestones (read: problems) – such as the failed tablet computer and the big bad announcement of HP considering to bail out of the PC business – the current HP chief exec Meg Whitman tries her best to turn things around. Will she succeed? Only time will tell.

Research into the industry has shown that the popularity of IP telephony, which is also known as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), is growing fast.

VoIP is becoming more important in the business world, with organisations of all shapes and sizes deciding to migrate from older analogue telephony services to a digital alternative which is more affordable, flexible and convenient.

Infonetics Research has established the growth of IP telephony in recent months by looking at the sales of equipment which facilitates this type of service.

Spokesperson Matthias Maschowinski said that investment in VoIP hardware can be traced back over the past 24 months, with 2011 being a crunch year for the market during which both voice and video conferencing handled over a network connection became much more common in the mainstream market.

While pure demand is driving the uptake of IP telephony equipment, Mr Maschowinski believes that there are a number of distinct factors which are all helping to push VoIP services to the top of the business agenda.

On a basic level, the introduction of IP-based voice and video conferencing is allowing companies to access resources which were previously unavailable. While in the past it was often necessary to send employees on expensive courses which would also require them to spend time away from the office and travel long distances, services such as tele-learning are reducing the need to physically attend these kinds of event.

The result of this is lower costs to the company and improved productivity. It also increases job satisfaction for individual employees and gives them a more flexible set of working conditions than ever before.

Another benefit of IP telephony on which businesses are focusing is the improved quality of the voice and video feeds thanks to the increased bandwidth available. Companies feel confident when they get in touch with customers, clients and business partners via voice or video because things will not only look and sound better over VoIP, but there is also a much lower chance of suffering from a dropped connection. This improved reliability has greatly enhanced the experience for business users.

Infonetics Research found that in 2011 there was significant growth in the number of companies that were investing in IP telephony imbedded in a PBX solution. The market expanded by 80 per cent year on year, which suggests that while companies are keen to move away from traditional solutions and adopt VoIP services, they still want to benefit from a manageable in-house PBX set-up which is future proof as well as being backwards compatible with older equipment.

Analysts found that IP telephony was favoured because it offered a winning proposition of lower costs combined with an uncomplicated integration into the internal infrastructure which is already in place in most businesses. Usually a technological leap forward requires that all of the old equipment is thrown out and new kit is installed at great expense. However, IP telephony is far more sensitive to the needs of businesses and as such does not lead to expensive upfront costs which might otherwise stifle thoughts of adoption.

Analysts believe that upwards of £14 billion will be spent by businesses across the world by the year 2016 in order to develop IP telephony and video-conferencing services. This figure may seem high but given the trillion-dollar nature of the IT industry as a whole, it is really not excessive. However, the low-cost, scalable nature of VoIP services means that companies can be frugal with their spending while still keeping pace with the rest of the market, providing the best of both worlds in these times of economic difficulty.

If, like hundreds of millions of other people around the world, you have a Facebook account, then you will be familiar with the concept of the news feed, where your friends’ activities that might interest you are shown to you.

Wavii works like a search engine in combination with a news feed. It crawls the web for content that is based on your interests, and then analyzes the information it finds and puts it into a news feed.

What makes Wavii different is that it takes the information it finds and actually tries to understand it. It learns everything it can about companies, products and people. More specifically, it learns about the different things that these entities do.

The Interface

Wavii looks much like Facebook and maybe even a little bit like Twitter. In most cases, the updates are exactly what you need, and it is a great way to stay up-to-date on the topics that you care about. You can also select the topics that you want Wavii to provide update on.

Focus on your Interests

With the Wavii app you can keep up with any news feed for any topic you want. This app will automatically create status updates for your favorite companies, gadgets, politicians, celebrities and more.

You are then able to see anything new that is happening, such as actors that have broken up, new app releases, or any political news. A teacher might get news about high-tech new classroom desks, while a video-game enthusiast would learn all about the latest releases. With Wavii, you can be constantly up-to-date on all the news.

The Downsides

Wavii works by summarizing the information it finds and removing any duplicate items. In some cases, it can become confused very easily. It also takes time for it to give you the results you want. Duplicates or similar items will also not always be removed automatically.

You can only log into Wavii with your Facebook user name and password. Many people are not happy about this, and do not like to automatically give Facebook the free advertising.

Once you log in Wavii will actually suggest that you follow certain topics, such as Facebook, politics, Apple and Justin Bieber. There will be many topics in the list for you to choose from, but many of them will be celebrities and main brand companies, such as Apple.

If you like celebrity gossip or want to hear the latest happenings at Apple or Microsoft, you will most likely enjoy using the Wavii app. It’s easy enough to download the app or sign up online and try it out for yourself on your computer or other device and see for yourself.

About the Author: Now that you know more about Wavii, you’ll be able to stay updated on everything that interests you, whether it’s the best deals on classroom desks or Brad and Angelina’s upcoming nuptials. Post written by guest blogger Mary.

Microsoft’s Bing has just been updated – now incorporating better social results from Facebook and Twitter. Since it was launched 3 years ago, Microsoft has never really done any fundamental updates to keep up with the trends in search, as reported by TG Daily. But it seems that Google’s plan to add social results from Google+ on its search result pages (named Search plus your world) has pushed Microsoft to offer something similar, according to The Verge.

Well, since Microsoft doesn’t really have its own social media, it rides on the popularity of Facebook and Twitter to bring social results to Bing. When you search for something via Bing, you will be presented relevant content from Facebook and Twitter on the right hand side of the search result pages. You can also interact with friends and colleagues straight from your search result pages – and more…

Check out this video from The Verge that will give you a hands-on overview on the new Bing:

The new Bing is the answer to complaints saying that Bing search result pages are too cluttered and confusing with web search and social search results combined in one place.

Unfortunately, the new Big will initially appear to US users. International users – along with mobile device support – will be able to access the new version in coming weeks – so, stay tuned!

From what I watch and read, I must say that Bing’s major update is a successful one – the result pages are pretty attractive and lots of useful information is well-presented.

To learn more about the new Bing, please read this Bing Community blog post.

Let’s just admit it – women rule in many areas of business and technology. Check this out: 56 percent of professional workforce are women; 55 percent of Twitter and Facebook users are women; Zynga social gaming players? 60 percent of them are women!

Unfortunately, the business tech world is still largely dominated by men. Ironically, most men think that companies have done enough in addressing diversity issues… on contrary, most women think companies are not that serious in addressing diversity – this is a perception gap need to be solved. But how?

Women Who Tech suggests that one of the most effective ways in bridging the gap is by proving to the world that women rule in tech world – partly via IT-related education. And women do catch up: Today, women hold more Bachelors and Graduate degrees than men; here’s a cool fact to add: 41 percent of Harvard’s Computer Science graduates are women – and growing rapidly.

…and entrepreneurs, both men and women… if you want your business to be more successful, consider to partner and hire women.

Fortune 500 companies with at least three women directors saw strong growth in many facets of the business – more than 53 percent increase in return on equity; 42 percent increase in return on sale; 66 percent increase in return on capital investment… in entrepreneurship? Ditto: 400 companies in Springboard portfolio are women-led, and 80 percent of companies are still in business today, raising $5 billion in equity financing, generating $4 billion in revenues and creating tens of thousands of new jobs.

Check out this infographic to help you better understand the trends…

Via Women Who Tech

So, I have to agree with Women Who Tech – businesses need to hire more women to be more successful. And, oh, I am a man and have been working with many smart women from more than 5 countries for years, so do consider my recommendation

Starting a company is easy. All you need to do from a practical standpoint is incorporate the entity for a few hundred dollars and that&#8217;s it. You have a company. Now, taking that company and turning it into a profitable, cash-strong company is an entirely different feat altogether.</p>
<p>Now, the unfortunate truth is that most companies fail in between these two periods. It is common knowledge that nearly 70% of companies will fail during the first three years of operations. This begs the question &#8211; why do companies fail?&#8230;</p>

While it is true that every franchise establishment will have unique issues with accepting their customers&#8217; credit cards, it is usually recommended to get a franchise quickly set up, then address issues with processing as they come up.</p>
<p>Franchise owners should start by researching a variety of merchant account processors. Most franchises in retail based industries will conduct the vast majority of their business in their store front. Owners of this type of franchise business will probably need a basic merchant account service that can handle a high volume of transactions everyday from the same location.&#8230;</p>

<p>Every day, more and more Australians are giving up traditional 9-to-5 jobs and venturing into the franchising world. In Australia, franchising is worth a whopping $130 billion &#8211; and that number is expected to keep growing.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Franchising offers you the chance to be your own boss &#8211; without starting up a company all by yourself. Instead of trying to build a brand from scratch, you get to use a business model, a product, and a company name that customers already know and trust.</p>
<h3>What do you need to know if you&#8217;re thinking of opening a franchise?</h3>
<p>If you think that the franchising world is right for you, take a look at these 4 facts.&#8230;</p>

<p>When the economy takes a downturn, it brings along with it a big opportunity for entrepreneurship. And that is exactly what America is experiencing now. The new worker wants to work from home, have a more flexible schedule and enjoy their home and family lives. So it&#8217;s no mystery as to why home-based franchises have experienced a huge leap in the past few years.</p>
<p>Among home-based <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.franchiseclique.com/">franchise opportunities</a> lies the possibility to really be a service to your community. Senior care franchises are an excellent opportunity to get involved with helping people while also making a considerable profit. In the coming years, the population of seniors is expected to jump wildly as the baby boomer generation comes into retirement age.&#8230;</p>

 </div>
<p>You have decided on the franchise you want to buy. Dreams of early retirements are beginning to swirl in your mind. Images of you on a beach, reclining in a hammock, sipping exotic cocktails. That is the dream! But it is very important to realize that the path between now and then is going to be challenging. Launching a <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.franchisenote.com/5-things-to-consider-before-buying-into-a-franchise.html">successful business</a> is not easy. The good news, however, is that with a combination of planning, hard work, and dedication, it can be done. In this article, we are going to discuss 5 key tips for successfully launching your new franchise.</p>
<p><strong>Test Your Idea</strong></p>
<p>Before you take out a restaurant loan or throw down the cash to buy this franchise, make sure you do exhaustive marketing research and talk with industry insiders in order to ensure that this is the right decision. In the early stages of launching a company, everything seems perfect. It is easy to see the world through rose-colored glasses and to think that wild success is only a few months away. However, there has never been a time when you needed to be more objective in your judgment and reasoning. Therefore, consult with others. Share your business plan and idea with successful entrepreneurs and business owners. If you get a steady stream of negative feedback, with most people believing you will not make money, then you need to seriously reconsider the idea.&#8230;</p>

 </a>
 </div>
<p>Now that the economic downturn seems to have passed by and left business on sturdier ground once more, it is the time for new investments, new ventures, and new opportunities. One way in which to get on board with the current atmosphere of growth is by opening a franchise, and there any many types to choose from. Another big question is of course where to start up, and the emerald isle may be the place to try for some Irish luck.</p>
<p>Ireland has been hit hard in the crisis, and received financial aid from the rest of Europe along with Portugal, Spain and Greece. With predictions looking gloomy, most investors and business hopefuls are likely to stay clear of such a shaky prospect.&#8230;</p>

<p>As the US economy is going through a sluggish state, an increasingly large number of consumers are defaulting on their multiple credit cards. This makes creditors transfer your accounts to the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/collection-agencies/list.html">collection agencies</a> and in return you get harassing calls from the debt collection agents in order to repay the money. When such debt collection agencies are growing in popularity, wouldn&#8217;t it be a good idea to start off with a debt collection business of your own? Well, certainly it would be.&#8230;</p>
