You may remember this family from the sneak peek that I posted sometime ago.

Michelle is a well-reknowned makeup artist in the Sacramento area. I first knew her and her work about a year ago when I participated the collaboration shoot between her and another photographer friend of mine. She was the make up artist for Tabitha and Kristina

While Christmas was approaching (2012), I had the privilege to photograph Michelle's beautiful family in Folsom!

The weekend for Madison was spent between running errands, playing with the neighbors and creating some art work. Here she is eagerly smiling because of excitement when her art materials were laid out in front of her.

The photo below is also an experiment for me. I learned other ways to edit than my usual routine and I thought I’d play with it. The result is somewhat the same.

Hello everyone! It’s St. Patrick’s Day today so happy St. Patty’s! You’d think I’d post something green, right? But not really! It’s been a while since I have typed some rumblings and posted photos aside from the regular portraits that I do.

So, here’s Budoy! I am not particularly sure if you have seen him in this blog. He is my daughter’s cat. He is a loving, sweet yet sometimes stubborn one. But then cats can be stubborn, right?

I hope I’ll be able to post more photos of him one of these days.

Pumpkinny

It’s been two days since Halloween has passed. It may have been over but definitely not the images that were taken on that day.

Where I grew up, Halloween is not a big thing. As far as I can remember, I’ve heard about trick or treat not never had done it. I know pumpkin but as a vegetable – not something you’ll carve into and turn it into a piece of “art”.

Since I have been here in the states, this year was my second time to carve pumpkins. I think it’s really fun. It’s even more fun when you do it your kids – especially when they try to add their own touch and flare to your detailed carvings.

Since i just started learning how to carve, seeing different pumpkins carved with intricate designs have always captured my eyes. Needless to say, all photos on this post are all pumpkins.

They were actually the entries to the pumpkin contest conducted by the building management of where I worked. The people behind these pumpkins are very artistic. Big kudos to their imagination and artistry.

The one above is in honor the San Francisco Giant’s team as they swept the Detroits Tigers in the World Series.

The last photo NEEDED to be inserted because I could not get over the cuteness of the two munchkins walking hand-in-hand as they go trick or treating!

The Photowalk

Every year, Scott Kelby, a well renowned photographer holds his annual photo walk. The photo walk is simultaneously done all over the world. Hundreds and thousands of photographers sign up for this event. Of course, to gather and mingle with other people sharing the same interest and passion is always a great gathering.

I first learned about it last 2010. I first joined the walk in Sacramento on a beautiful July morning. The walk was participated by different photographers whose specialty varies (from landscape to portrait). It started by meeting with the participants – getting to know each other, then followed by the walk. A special place is assigned as a meeting place and the photographers then walk around the area/location assigned by the leaders as the coverage for the walk. During that year, the photo walk route was around the California Capitol. After an hour or two of laying on the ground, standing on poles and benches, chasing butterflies, and hundred of photos, we ended our walk with a lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. There, we talk more about photography, photography and more photography. We also discuss several other things that are not related to photography.

With that experience, I told myself that I need to participate the next year’s walk. I signed up but there was last minute changes on my schedule. It was time for family bonding to the city so I missed it. This year is the its fifth year so I registered. Again, I failed to participate. The reason was important. It’s pumpkin patch time with the family! This time though, I brought my camera with me in the hopes that I’d get to photograph some thing interesting aside from taking photos of my daughter and her cousin picking that right pumpkin! Even if I missed the walk with the group, my photo walk was a win-win for me. I get to take photos while spending quality time with family.

Below are some of the things that caught my eye during that own version of the photo walk.
