NMC Laboratory Earns CAP Accreditation

Northwestern Medical Center’s Laboratory and Respiratory Therapy Department have been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of an on-site inspection in October.

NMC Opens Renovated Outpatient Laboratory Space

To improve patient privacy and comfort while expanding capacity to keep pace with community need, Northwestern Medical Center opened its renovated Outpatient Laboratory space on Monday, November 19. The space now features private rooms, rather than chairs separated by curtains, with an increase in drawing stations from two to three.

Dr. Zsoldos Honored With 2nd Annual Deogracias “Deo” P. Esguerra, MD Service Award

St. Albans, Vt.-- Dr. Frank Zsoldos, a St. Albans Internal Medicine Specialist, was honored with the 2^nd Annual Deogracias “Deo” P. Esguerra, MD Service Award at Northwestern Medical Center’s Medical Staff Appreciation Dinner in early November. This award was created in 2011 to honor a provider with a “passion for excellence and dedication to the patients of our community.”

NMC’s Family Birth Center Welcomes 10,000th Baby

On Friday, October 26, Northwestern Medical Center celebrated the birth of the 10,000th baby on its Family Birth Center, which was opened in 1990. Destiny Wiegand was born to Alyson Hansen and Patrick Wiegand of St. Albans, weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 19 ½ inches long. The family received a gift bag of special NMC items to recognize this special milestone birth.
