What’s a better than the third season of Minami-ke? Well, the fourth season, of course!

Titled as “Minami-ke Tadaima”, the fourth season of Minami-ke promises more hilarious antics from the three Minami sisters. It also seems like the animation studio has been changed (for the third time too, for the better too!) to “studio feel.”, which had produced anime adaptations for “Mayo Chiki” and “Papa Kiki!“. There had been some staff changes there and there, but as far as the seiyuus are concerned, nothing has been changed on that department!

Minami-ke Tadaima is expected to be aired in Japan starting 5th January next year. Not too far away now!

Just earlier today, Asiasoft has officially announced their massive teaser (we ALL know what it is) at their License2Play event held at Marina Bay Sands. Yes, that’s right, it’s indeed Ragnarok Online 2!

With Ragnarok Online 2, Asiasoft is starting on their first game to include a “Closed Beta” service for their community. Ragnarok Online 2 is announced with a Closed Beta period which spans across a period of 6 days, starting from 7th December all the way to 12th December. Interested players can head directly down to the official website for Asiasoft’s Ragnarok Online 2, while others could also join up in the fun with the official Facebook page.

Do note that the Closed Beta period has a limited server-opening timing, starting from 11AM to 2AM! Those who want to skip reading all the tedious stuff, just jump to PlayPark’s forums and grab the client now!

Like previously mentioned, Ragnarok Online 2 will be completely free-to-play, operating off a premium shop system that is extremely popular in Korean-based MMORPG these days.

Asiasoft, best known for bring tons of “free-to-play” games to SEA region is currently teasing another game: Ragnarok Online 2!

Several years ago, Asiasoft themselves had already teased about a potential SEA server for “Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World“. However, with the re-development of Ragnarok Online 2 to “Legend of the Second” — and the subsequent development hell that the game went through –, there had been little news regarding if Asiasoft is still bringing the game to the English community as the first English Ragnarok Online 2 server.

A countdown site had been erected by Asiasoft, with a date set seemingly on the 7th of December 2012 (just several more weeks to go!) during the Licence2Play convention. While there’s nothing to indicate that the countdown site is specifically for Ragnarok Online 2, the word “blockbuster” and title “ragnarok online” seems to go well together, don’t you think?

P.S: I have some conflicted feelings regarding the SEA server for Ragnarok Online 2; Asiasoft’s community of players aren’t exactly one of the friendliest around these regions…

ASCII Mediaworks has just recently announced the official green-lighting of the second season of “Toaru Kagaku no Railgun” alongside the anime movie adaptation of “Toaru Majutsu no Index”, both of which will be premiering next year.

The new season of Railgun is tentatively titled as “Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S” and continues the stories of Misaka in the spin-off adaptation of the “Index” series. The main cast and staff for the previous season will be returning to work on the second season of Railgun.

A Texas-based student’s popularity has rocketed up because of one thing: he had made significant progress in the reverse engineering of the VITA and is currently developing a loader that would allow other developers to run unsigned codes. That means, once the loader’s ready, other homebrew developers would have the chance of running their software on the VITA without the need of authorization.

Reported by GiantBomb, reverse engineer Yifan Lu said that while he is currently working on the PS VITA loader, he has absolutely no intention of supporting the usage of his software for piracy. Granted, he acknowledges that there’s no guarantee that anyone else wouldn’t take his work for other means other than development purposes, but as far as he is concerned, Lu says that his work might be a “stepping stone for others” and that people who are in contact with him in the same field of expertise are also “against piracy”.

He had also said that while he can’t “stop it”, he promises that he will “never help it”.

“We can’t stop it, but I can promise that I will never help it. I made this metaphor before, but it’s like the invention of airplanes. They’re good for transportation, but somebody decided it can be used to drop bombs. But to prevent bombing cities, would it have been better if airplanes were never invented?”

There’s no solid proof of work from him yet, so Lu advises everyone not to start holding off firmware updates and all the likes. Between his unexpected announcement and the time of release, he said that anything could happen.

Sony’s response to this is unknown as of now, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Sony did some drastic action or demands Lu to cease his work.

Until Sony steps in, Lu will continue to work on the loader as a form of challenge and hobby for himself.

“If they tell me to stop, I will. I don’t have the time or resources to fight them. This is only a hobby.”

For now, the only official trailer that shows some Final Fantasy 14 gameplay would be the limit-break trailer who was release several days ago. For those who are still unsatisfied with the amount of gameplay footage that was shown in the trailer might just find this one hour long video presentation to be extremely interesting.

The one hour video is actually the presentation of a special talk session which was held earlier this month where the producer of the game, Naoki Yoshida, demonstrated the game in front of an audience alongside with some members of the development team. The demonstration shows a good amount of gameplay footage too.

Final Fantasy 14 is currently gearing up towards Alpha Testing for the PC version, so interested parties can head down to their alpha testing portal to sign up.

And oh, remember to enable closed captions, there’s English subtitles there for you to see!

It’s not too far off now, Persona fans! Persona 4: Golden in English is just in plain sight and will be made available to all Persona-wielding to-be coming this Fall. Until then, I guess fans like you and me would have to just use our imagination to play the “game” while we wait for it!
