Strange how Joy + Despair turns out to be Joy at the end of the equation…

This piece of info is a week late, but if I don’t write something useful in the absence of the Almighty Netto, I might be smite down with barrages of “POST MOAR” spam.

With that said, Project Diva 2nd is a new game on its own, and now we have to dug out jewgold from our wallets, again for similar gameplay we seen on other rhythm game. Hell, even the DLC for Project Diva cost quite a fortune. But we know that some of us aren’t honest with ourselves, right?

In any case, hop in to know more about Project Diva 2nd, which you might have been informed few days back.

And from this wonderful image, we can see that D-pads are added into it.

What? Like there is anything more to say about the addition of D-pads?! Alright, so now you have more things to do with your fingers, happy? Well, you can also switch between D-pads and symbols or have them together, but that’s it.

The other unique feature would be the duet, as one can see. Oh wait, I missed something? Where, now?

Oh yes, so now Project Diva 2nd have a timing note to go along with it. All rhythm games can’t miss this out, definitely not. But nooo, that is not what I really missed out. Yes! It is on the top right hand side of the screen! It seems like they have a new standard for difficulties, but God knows how difficult they really are…And just from this scene of [Magnet], Extreme seems pretty easy >_>;

And no Wolves shall harm this little red riding hood. She will also not meet her grandmother or the woodcutter, so there! There are new costumes too, and the one that really interest me is the goth queen-like outfit for Miku XD Which, well…I am too lazy to save up that image and put here, so you might as well go take a look at the source provided later. Renny is inherent lazy, ya know?

Seems like today ain’t that bad either, since there are three notable out of the day’s list.

First up, we have [UNBALANCE] by Dios as stated above, and well…He made front page in this post cause Tamura’s the artist of the pictures, with some other guy making it into a PV. What? Can’t I be bias based on the illustration used? Moreover, quite a number of his previous work are in my list like [Transmit], [Step and Go] and some of the few moonies that I am too lazy to go figure out what they are in romaji.

It seems like Crypton finally released Miku’s [Append] Series to the public, with some surprises too.

To be officially out on April 30th, a day before May. It seems like April is a good month for 2010, for I can get my BRS-BB then too, if Good Smile doesn’t delay it.

While you can preorder it on Amazon now, so they say…The new voicebank is currently not available in Amazon, but you can let them notify you when a set price is announced.

Square Enix Hires People For Next-Gen Game Engine

Hey look, Final Fantasy 7 fans! It might be possible that your Final Fantasy 7 remake fix is coming soon!

Square Enix is said to be starting work on a next generation game engine that will quite literally blow away some of the strong developers in the game industry. And the very fact that they are using Cloud as a teaser picture gives us the chance to create some speculation of our own!

Calling their next generation engine as a revolution for them, as the world of game developing does not need reforms anymore, they are currently recruiting talented individuals for their projects which spans across both Xbox 360 and PS3. Looks like PC gaming is out of Square Enix’s scope now…

If you’re interested in the recruitment page of Square Enix, you can head over this link and have a little look see. Apparently, Square Enix is hiring only specialized people, and there are several positions available at Square Enix for interested parties to take part in this next generation game engine. Some of the position might be tied to the development of Final Fantasy 14, or maybe some other online Final Fantasy game, as Square Enix is also looking for experienced online system programmers that could handle large scale client programing.

“At Square Enix, in anticipation of the appearance of next generation platforms, we’ve started development on a new generation game engine for competing beyond the level of the strong developers throughout the world, and are presently seeking a lot of talent.”

Final Fantasy 13 looks great and yet Square Enix is moving onto creating yet another game engine for their games? And judging from the teaser picture, one would wonder if the first game to be running on the new engine would be the remake of Final Fantasy 7…

This song should be known as [God is awake at Dawn], if my moonie-translation aren’t too far off >_>;

The song didn’t start out as anything I would add into my list, until it reached the “Shine on” part, which actually sounded more like “China on” or “Chai on”. It is one of the best english-speaking Miku that I have heard so far, and it really caught my interest near the end. I don’t know much about this Shime Saba person, since this is his first work in my list, which I hope won’t be the only one.

On a side note, Shime Saba means pickled mackerel in Japanese. Did you know that mackerels are best marinated with honey and fruit vinegar?

Record of Agarest War Zero Might Be Heading For An International Release

If you’re one that played Recod of Agarest War, you might actually be thinking of a sequel (or prequel) for this great game, right? Fret not, as developer Compile Heart is now currently looking for a publisher for bringing the game to the international community!

Happened during GDC 2010 in San Francisco, developer Compile Heart is now currently looking for publishers who would pick up their game for an international release. Called Record of Agarest War Zero, the game is actually more of a prequel to the first game that is available on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. With the first game existing on international consoles, there’s a high chance that the prequel would be made available to the international community.

Like the first game, a probable publisher would be Aksys Games, but since the English version of the game is yet to be released, it might actually be too early for the publisher to pick up the game. Plus, depending on how popular their extremely naughty version comes out, it might be possible that the prequel will also receive the same naughty treatment if all goes well!

In all actuality though, despite the sex orientated advertisement that Aksys Games had done for the game, Record of Agarest War is said to be an extremely interesting game with a rather complex storyline. Then again, the game does drop into the category of eroge by some… Well, it wouldn’t hurt if they pasted suggestive pictures all around, right?

Saki Portable Opening Video Released!

If you’re a fan of the popular bishoujo mahjong series, you might be interested in the opening video of the upcoming Saki game for the PSP, simply called Saki Portable.

From the looks of the game, it’s more or less a cross-over between a visual novel and some mahjong element in it. Obviously, mahjong will take up a good majority of the game as Saki does revolve around the idea of mahjong, but one can’t help but to think how the whole visual novel part will be played out like. And I’m pretty sure that there are a fair amount of people wanting to have some ero elements in the game! You can check out the opening video of the portable game here.

All the core characters of the anime series will also be making a return in the game itself. Loaded with both mahjong and visual novel elements, this is one game Saki fans should not miss! If you’re interested in how the game would look like, you might want to drop by this Famitsu post to check out several screenshots.

Saki Portable will be released in Japan this 25th of March, along with several other goodies, such as several figurines, as well as a 160 pages artbook!

One Piece’s Going Merry Might Anchor Itself In Japan Soon

The popular series of Gundam has received a life-sized statue of it’s own, so why not another series like One Piece? Recently announced by the Kumamoto prefecture, it is said that they are currently considering the possibility of building a replica of the famous ship in One Piece, Going Merry, in a bid to simulate the prefecture’s economy.

First proposed by a citizen’s group, the prefecture’s assembly is now finally giving the idea some thoughts about it. The proposed plan might be given the go ahead soon, as assembly members has expressed interested in the proposed plan and it’s highly possible that the plan will simulate economy in the prefecture itself.

Prefecture governor, Ikuo Kabashima, has approved of the plan and is willing to think of methods and ways that would support the civil group’s dream of turning the Going Merry into a reality. There has been multiple ships that are modeled into the looks of Going Merry, but this will be the first time where Going Merry will be put up on display in a city.

Other than both Gundam and One Piece, the statue of Gigantor (or Tetsujin #28) has been up in the prefecture of Kobe for a pretty long time now. While the statue is not as tall as the Gundam RX-78, the Gigantor is the pride and joy of the Kobe people, as unlike the Gundam itself, the Gigantor is mostly built on the funds of the citizens of Kobe.

Looks like the whole thing of building replicas of popular series is getting all the attention now. Maybe we might see a real-life Vital Suit from Lost Planet soon…

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Promotional Video

Not much (or maybe none at all) new information as compared to what we already know, you can now view the promotional video of Continuum Shift that revealed all things new to fans during the BuruRaji BlazBlue fan event that happened several weeks ago.

In the 131 seconds video, gameplay modes are introduced and the menu is roughly explained. The video also gives us some insight on how the menu looks like (I like Calamity Trigger’s better though), as well as showcasing some of the things players can expect in different modes.

The story mode is returning with more awesomeness than ever, spanning across 15 different characters and are all multi-branched. The story mode will also feature twice as much animation from first the game, all from the animating studio Gonzo.

Other interesting modes includes Legion mode — a mode that allows players to duke it out repeatedly with a whole line up of computer controlled characters, somewhat like a survival mode –, tutorial mode that teaches novices on how to execute several combos, as well as challenges that will require players to do several moves in rapid succession. Sounds pretty interesting!

Of course, let’s not forget about the Noel Nendroid Puchi that’s available on the Limited Edition of the game. While there’s still no finalized colours, you can more or less see the design of the nendo itself on this post.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is nearing completion soon and is set for a July release.

How Did Final Fantasy 13 Exactly Go To The Xbox 360?

Not really the packaging, but 13 DVDs? C’mon!

As many would have known by now, the Xbox 360 has already received the used-to-be-PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy 13. That little decision Square Enix made had sparked a whole wave of rage from the PS3 owners, but that’s the thing of the past now.

But the question still remains, how exactly did the Xbox 360 get Final Fantasy 13? Wasn’t Playstation series supposed to be the only one that is traditionally supposed to receive the core Final Fantasy games?

Apparently, the reasons for releasing Final Fantasy 13 on the Xbox 360 is not rocket science at all. Square Enix had mentioned that the Xbox Team has been asking them to make a Final Fantasy game for their system, and what’s better than to use an existing game for that purpose? Using minimal time and effort to translate an existing game onto a console which is widely available in the US and Europe market.

The Xbox team has been asking us to have a [Final Fantasy] game developed on our platform.Also, the Xbox 360 console is available in many homes in US and European markets so that was not really a hard decision to make.

Not really rocket science, isn’t it? It’s all about the profits made by them! Even if the Xbox 360 version is comparably crappier than the one on the PS3! Might sound a little ridiculous to several players, but other than that… well, I guess that’s how Square Enix is like…
