Melbourne sure has its fair share of car shows. I often take photo-walks down to Southbank hoping to get a great sunset to capture the random festivities that are usually happening down there. This time I managed to find a superbly polished rich red Cadillac primed for HDR. This is the result of some quick work to capture it.

I feel there are some minor quality issues in the images taken. This is without a tripod and there seems to be a slight ‘fog’ over the image I’m an still learning to deal with.

Regardless, she is certainly a stylish car!

Graffiti Girl

Opposite Roule Galette (arguably Melbourne’s greatest Creperie) is a urban photo gallery. They have many fantastic prints of the gritty alleyways and incredible graffiti. After perusing the gallery myself I was inspired to try out the graffiti photography myself. Its an interesting style of photography as in reality, the real art is in the amazing hands of the graffiti master. My job was simply to seek out the best works and snap away.

In Degraves laneway is a corner compartment filled with this great graffiti. This piece with the girl and her camera was is fantastic. I wasn’t quite able to get a straight on shot with so many people around so I will return to get a better framing next time.

a general understanding; vague or imperfect conception or idea of something: a notion of how something should be done.

What is the notion of music? What is this site all about? Consider how we look at the world we construct around us. Our work, our hobbies, our partners, our creative endeavours; the things we do and the perspectives we have. Consider that all of us have something that drives us at our core. For me, it is whimsy and music.

Whether I am writing lyrics for another song, capturing another image or drafting masterful (self professed) code for a scientific discovery, I am looking for the funk in it, for the grooves and beats that pulse beneath the surface; I’m looking for the music.

So here is a space to begin exploring and sharing my findings on all things with a Notion of Music.
