Welcome

Just before the turn of the century, I picked up a professional camera for the first time. It was 9pm and I was in downtown San Diego. The camera wasn’t mine; it was 35mm, wasn’t even my film. After fiddling with the settings for a few minutes, I asked “how long do you leave the shutter open to capture the lights of cars going by?”

I took my friend's advice, pointed the lens upward at a skyscraper being illuminated by its brilliant white lights, surrounded by amber street lights, and snapped the photo. That photo now hangs on my wall. I’ve never looked back.

I want to welcome you to my photography site. This website doesn't showcase my best work, nor is this website meant to market me.I've posted a select few photographs that I particularly feel comforable sharing with people. I've also posted ones I feel "the masses" are entitled to see on my flickr page. My photography is mine, I do it for me, and no one is entitled to it. I've been fortunate to work with some amazing people and models, I've been fortunate enough to work on some great photography projects. At the end of the day, I'll never sell my services unless the project fits my vision or falls in line with my creative passions. I don't feel that anyone deserves my photography, nor do I expect anyone to enjoy it more than I do. I don't hold expectations for this website, nor will I ever hold expectations toward the photography on it.

Additionally, I've never taken a photography class, never read a photography journal, never studied photography. If for some reason what you see here doesn't conform to some standard, I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't want to read your criticisms of my work in my inbox.

This sounds pompous because it's my art. Deal with it or don't browse, that's just my take on it for my photography... In no way does this view point ever translate to my design or web development work. Contrary to popular belief, my work is not my hobby. This is.
