The betting odds to win the 2015 AAC Conference Tournament have been released at all the major online USA Sportsbooks and regular season AAC Champion SMU(24-6 overall, 15-3 in AAC play) has been installed as the 3/2 favorite to win.

The 1st round schedule for the 2015 AAC Conference Tournament tips off at 3:30 PM EST with #8 seed East Carolina taking on #9 seed UCF. The second game on the schedule in 1st rd AAC Tournament play will have #7 seed Tulane playing #10 seed Houston at 6PM EST. The third and final 1st round matchup will see #6 UConn going up against #11 seed South Florida.

The 2015 AAC Tournament Quarterfinals will start on Friday, March 13th with four exciting games on tap. The first game will tip off at noon EST when the winner of the East Carolina-UCF game takes on #1 seed SMU and that will be followed by the 2nd game of the afternoon session at 2PM EST when #5 seed Memphis takes on #4 seed Temple. The night session will also have a pair of matchups and it will begin at 7PM EST when the Tulane-Houston winner takes on #2 seed Tulsa and will be followed at 9PM EST with a matchup between the winner of the UConn-South Florida game versus #3 seed Cincinnati.

The semifinals of the 2015 AAC Tournament will take place on Saturday, March 14th starting at 3PM EST. The 2015 AAC Tournament Championship Game will take place on Sunday, March 15th at 3:15 PM EST. The Title Game can be seen LIVE on ESPN.

The 2015 AAC Tournament should be a highly competitive tournament as SMU and Cincinnati are the only two absolute locks to make the 2015 NCAA Tournament Bracket regardless of what happens in the AAC Tournament. Temple is also in pretty good shape but a loss to Memphis in the Quarterfinals can certainly give the committee a reason to keep them out. Defending National Champion UConn will definitely need to win the AAC Tournament to make the field of 68 so the stakes and motivation for the Huskies will be huge playing in front of their home state fans.

So, how do you watch the Superbowl? If you are lucky enough to have a dog in this fight, then I guarantee you are both excited and nervous leading up to kickoff. But the vast majority of us don’t have our teams in it so we either root for someone or the team we like the best, or, root against the team or people we dislike the most! Or, we watch for the commercials and halftime entertainment if we are casual fans.

I happen to motivate myself by rooting against someone which naturally makes me pull for the other team, and I think I am in the majority… I probably take greater pleasure in a team I don’t like losing than a team I like winning…what’s that called, Schadenfreude??

So whether you hate SF because of their sickening “Who’s got it better than us?” chant, which will be us if you lose, or, if you hate Baltimore because of Antler Spray Ray and his insufferable self-promoting, you will not be alone. There’s also the storyline of Joe Flatulence, Joe Flaccid, or Joe Fledsoe. Call him what you want, he is poised to cash in big time with this postseason and his pending free agency. The one thing this superbowl media week has highlighted is how much of a phony Ray Lewis is and to remind everyone what his criminal past was. I can’t stand the guy and it would be poetic justice in my mind if they lose in his finale.

Last Week:

1-1 (50%)

Season:

53-73-3 (42%)

Sunday 2/3

Baltimore Plus 3.5

Having said all that, we are here to make picks to win money. It doesn’t matter what my personal feelings are, I need to analyze and pick the winner. SF probably has the better roster all around, but Baltimore is the more battle tested and veteran team. They have also been the proverbial hot team in this year’s tournament and they certainly won’t be intimidated by the big stage. I wouldn’t be surprised by either team winning, but chalk hasn’t fared too well in these games lately, so I’ll take the points and go with Baltimore.

Under 47

I will take the under with the 2 best defensive teams in this game and I see a 24-14 type of game…

I’ve had just about enough of Lance Armstrong and Mantei Teo, I can’t take anymore. The only good thing is the coverage took the spotlight away from the doughnut I put up last week… But at least Stephen G wasn’t on Deadspin or Oprah..

Last Week

0-4 (0%)

Season

52-72-3 (42%)

SUNDAY 1/20

San Francisco Minus 4 – The Niners are the good on both sides of the ball and the best of the NFC. I’ve tried to come up with a scenario where they lose to Atlanta and I can’t picture it. Atlanta doesn’t handle running QB’s very well and Kaepernick is probably the best and fastest of the bunch. I’d like to see the Falcons win but it’s not going to happen.

Baltimore Plus 8.5 – Can anyone tell me why this line is this high? Every game these 2 teams have played the last few years has been tight and closely contested. What has happened to change that trend? Gonk, as he was called by Boston’s marble-mouthed mayor, is out and it makes it easier for the Ravens to concentrate on Welkaaa and make someone else beat them. The Ravens have been knocking on the door for several years now and here they have another shot. Maybe NE plays uptempo and wears out the tired Raven defense at the end but I still don’t see NE winning by a big margin.

…And then there were eight… We’re getting down to the nitty gritty and the big boys are playing this weekend and the real action begins. This week, we have 3 re-matches and a game where the #1 seed in the NFC feels like an underdog. As for the re-matches, will the outcomes be the same or will there be revenge extracted? Will we get the much-anticipated AFC title game between Manning and Brady? Will Ray the-drama-queen Lewis play his final game? Will the Kaepernick insertion at QB for San Fran blow up or pay dividends? Enough of the speculation, let’s pick the games.

Last Week

3-1 (75%)

Season

52-68-3 (43%)

SATURDAY 1/12

Denver Minus 9 – The Donkeys are on a roll frankly and if they could wax Baltimore’s ass on the road, there is no reason to think they won’t at home. Plus, Peyton is something like 11-0 against the Ravens in his career. I think that may constitute a trend.

Green Bay Plus 2.5 – This is one rematch where the psychological edge is with the Pack, but more importantly, they can DO something about it. Rodgers is very capable of lighting up the Niners and should have learned something by watching what Brady was able to do against that defense.

SUNDAY 1/13

Atlanta Minus 2.5 – This is a game where most of the experts and Johnny Public is on Seattle. Well, not-so-fast-my-friends! Seattle lost their best edge rusher and Atlanta is a much better team than Washington in my opinion. Atlanta has had 2 weeks to prepare, they have something to prove to their critics and have had time to stew and whip themselves up into a frenzy. I think this line moved down into a nice number because of the public’s love for Seattle. Give me the Dirty Birds at home.

Houston Plus 9.5 – This rematch will be much closer than the first game which got away from the Texans early and snowballed on them. They will show pride and give a much better effort in this one. I don’t think they are as good as NE and eventually they will get worn down and lose, but they will at least earn respect for putting up a better fight.

The playoffs are here and the deserving teams are in and the clueless, posers and gaggers are on vacation. Now the real action begins and it’s survival of the fittest…no room for error or bad outings….lose and you’re done. No 4 out of 7 game series need apply here..

Black Monday has come and gone and coaches have paid the price for losing and missing the playoffs. Let’s face it, if you’re an NFL coach, your success is tied to whether you have a good QB, period. If Shanahan never had Elway, you wouldn’t know what he was doing these days. If Belichick didn’t get lucky with Brady, he’d probably be out of the league and giving motivational speeches to the corporate world on how to handle the media. QB’s make coaches, not vice versa… all these owners should realize that.

Last Week

3-4 (43%)

Season

49-67-3 (42%)

SATURDAY 1/5

Cincinnati Plus 4.5 – The Bengals went into Pittsburgh and won, while the Texans went into NE and Indy and got embarrassed. Cincy is battle tested and wants to atone for last year. The Texans are a fraud… Give me the points.

Green Bay Minus 7.5– All the psychological factors are in the Packers favor.. 1) It’s hard to beat a team 2 weeks in a row 2) The revenge factor 3) Home field 4) GB’s embarrassing playoff game last year 5) natural letdown on Vikings part after making playoffs. I smell a blowout brewing….

SUNDAY 1/6

Baltimore Minus 6.5 – The Ravens will be emotional in Drama Ray’s return and retirement announcement. Luck hasn’t experienced playoff football and doing it on the road is not the best place to start. It’s been a nice feel-good story and a Cinderella year, but the clock strikes midnight this week.

Seattle Minus 3 – Memo to Redskin Fan: The Seahawks are NOT the Cowgirls! They will not allow the Skins to run it down their throats like they did to Dallas. They will force RG3 to beat them with his arm and by the way, they have one of the best secondaries in the NFL.. I don’t think Seattle will run and hide, but they will wear down Washington and win by a TD.

The last week of the regular season is one of the hardest to handicap. You’ve got teams who might rest players, teams that have their U-hauls packed already and players who have vacations and tee times lined up. There are some games like Washington/Dallas that are basically an early playoff game. So, let’s get the scrubs out of the way and bring on the playoffs.

Last Week

3-4 (43%)

Season

46-63-3 (42%)

Sunday 12/30

Buffalo Minus 3 – Two AFC east teams that are running jokes. Both can’t seem to evaluate players, especially quarterbacks… But, the Jets are a major league soap opera and have become a national joke.. I’ll take the Bills here but I don’t have a lot of faith in either team.

Cincinnati Minus 1 – If Cincy is to be taken seriously in the playoffs, they need to win this game and split the season series with another playoff team in Baltimore. I say they show up and win this one.

Indy Plus 7 – The Colts are locked into their playoff seed so they don’t need this game, except that they are a young team that needs to show Houston they can beat them, and they will be emotional with their head coach returning from his Chemo treatments. I think they can win outright so I will take the points here.

New Orleans Minus 4.5 – Carolina has been playing well, but the Saints have been scoring at will. They got good news that Sean Payton will be back and they will want to close this lost season strong.

Miami Plus 10 – The Fish played NE tough in Miami a few weeks back and their defense is decent. The Pats have been getting out to slow starts and with the weather in the low 20’s and the possibility of Belichick resting players depending on the outcome of Hou/Ind and score of Den/KC, I will take the points.

Seattle Minus 10.5– Forget Denver, Seattle is the league’s hottest team. I will jump on Petey Poodle’s bandwagon here.

Dallas Plus 3 – This is a rivalry game and more important, in my opinion, to the Cowboys than the Redskins. It is hard to sweep this series and I think that RG3 is not 100% so for that reason, I’ll go with Dallas.

As we play out the string on the regular season and await the playoffs, its a good time to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year… It hasn’t been a very good year for the Jets, of course, but then it hasn’t for like 44 years now… but they did give us the “butt fumble” play; a gift that keeps on giving!

Last Week

4-3 (57%)

Season

43-59-3 (42%)

Sunday 12/23

Green Bay Minus 13– If you lose at home to the Sanchise at home on Monday night, what makes us think you will give the Packers a game at Lambeau?

Washington Minus 6.5 – The classic matchup of two ships passing in the night headed in completely different directions. The Skins can taste the playoffs now and let’s face it, if they can’t beat the playing-out-the-string Eagles, they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh Minus 3 – I’ve been backing the Steelers for several weeks now and getting my ass kicked, but I’m going to ride them one last time since I am NOT a believer in Marvin Lewis and the Bengals.

Oakland Plus 9.5 – This is where the Panthers historically lose. The game where they are at home and are big favorites. They are good when they are underdogs, but they don’t know how to handle success.

Cleveland Plus 13 – The Browns are not as bad as they normally are and I’ll take a flyer on them keeping it within 2 TD’s.

NY Giants Minus 2.5 – Who do you trust more, Eli or Joe Fledsoe? The GMen also need this game and the Ravens are already in the tournament. I’ll take the team that has a championship pedigree.

Sunday Night Special

Seattle Minus 1.5 – SF is due for a letdown after an emotional win in NE last week, plus this is their second road game in 2 weeks with a lot of airline miles in between.

This is one of those weeks that have a lot of good important games, if you can’t get up for this week, you just don’t like football.

Last Week

1-6 (14%)

Season

30-56-3 (41%)

Sunday 12/16

Atlanta Minus 1 – The Falcons have a lot to prove and show the Giants and the country that they are for real and can beat the champs. I’m sure they have had this game circled since the schedule came out.

Green Bay Minus 3 – The Packers are rounding into playoff form and the Bears are who we thought they were!! So, let’s crown Green Bay’s ass…

Denver Minus 2.5 – The Ravens defense let Charlie Batch beat them, what will Manning do? The Ravens fired Cam Cameron and made him a scapegoat for their offensive issues. If you want Rice to run more, TELL him Harbaugh… plus Caldwell is a human statue, does he speak?? The big problem is they still trot Joe Fledsoe out there…

Indy Plus 9.5 – I think the Texans are overrated as Monday showed and Indy has a magical season going. I do think Houston wins this one, but it won’t be a cakewalk.

Carolina Plus 3 – Just when you think San Diego has turned the corner, they get hit by a truck. I’ll take the Cats.

Pittsburgh Minus 1 – In a battle of up and down teams, it comes down to who do you trust more? For me, its the Steelers…they are coming off an embarrassing loss and they are less dysfunctional than the Boys.

Monday 12/17

New York Jets Plus 1 – They Jets are still in the playoff hunt if you can believe it and they can beat the mediocre teams with the best of them. It’s the good teams they have no chance against, because well, they ain’t that good themselves.

Indianapolis Minus 5 – Tennessee has packed it in and the Colts have everything to play for.

Pittsburgh Minus 7.5 – The Steelers survived Big Ben’s absence and now they get him back in time to make a playoff run. Norv’s 9 lives are finally up and this SD team is brutal.

Miami Plus 10 – Don’t sleep on Miami’s defense and I’ll take a flyer on them keeping it relatively closet…

Seattle Minus 10-Arizona is beyond bad these days and Seattle is still in the playoff hunt. They are playing pretty well and will rachet it up a notch at home.

Baltimore Plus 2.5– This is the kind of game where Baltimore’s defense answers the bell. RG3 is good, but lets not put him in Canton yet…

Atlanta Minus 3.5 – Atlanta is playing for homefield in the playoffs and Carolina is playing for, well, their next coach and GM once they get named.

Monday 12/10

Houston Plus 3 – We will get to see if Houston is ready for prime time in this one. They will score on the Pats and they will put the heat on Brady with JJ Watt. I would pick NE if Gronk was playing, but with him out, they are easier to defend. Give me the points.

Not a great week, but hey it was a helluva lot better week than the Jets had! Sure, I went 3-4 but at least I didn’t plant my face in my bookie’s ass like Sanchez did on Thanksgiving night…was that some funny shit or what?

Last Week

3-4 (43%)

Season

35-46-3 (43%)

Sunday 12/2

Green Bay Minus 9.5 – The Pack needs some home cooking to get the stench on NY outta their mouths.. plus the Vikings aren’t the same without Percy Harvin.

Houston Minus 6 – I’m not all that impressed by the Texans but it doesn’t take much to put the squeeze on the Tits these days…

San Fran Minus 7 – Count me as someone who is in the Kaepernick corner in this so-called QB controversy… it reminds me when Brady replaced Bledsoe, it was obvious from the jump…

NE/Mia Over 50.5 – Who knows if the Fish cover the 9 or not, but NE can almost beat this number by themselves… Throw in NE’s mediocre defense and the scoreboard is in trouble… The only way it slows down is if they turn on the sprinklers again this week.

Cincinnati Minus 1 – I don’t know how SD bounces back from giving up a 4th & 29…. That’s the kind of play that gets TV’s broken in my house.

Baltimore Minus 9.5 – No Ben, no chance… I watched Chaz Batch last week and it set back QB play 45 years… Baltimore will be primed to dig the Steelers a grave..

Monday 12/3

Washington Plus 1 – RG3 served notice on Dallas on turkey day and will deliver another message to the Jints this week that the future of the division is in DC…
