phpMyAdmin es una herramienta escrita en PHP con la intención de manejar la administración de MySQL a través de páginas web, utilizando Internet. Actualmente puede crear y eliminar Bases de Datos, crear, eliminar y alterar tablas, borrar, editar y añadir campos, ejecutar cualquier sentencia SQL, administrar claves en campos, administrar privilegios, exportar datos en varios formatos y está disponible en 62 idiomas. Se encuentra disponible bajo la licencia GPL.

Despues de instalar un servidor local en nuestro archlinux, ahora toca el turno de instalar uno de los mas populares administradores de MySQL (si no es que el mas popular), PhpMyAdmin.

Instalacion:

La instalacion es basica por consola, instalamos el paquete phpmyadmin y la extension php-mycrypt:

pacman -S phpmyadmin php-mcrypt

Configuración:

Primero tienen que asegurarse de que no tienen una vieja copia del archivo de configuracion de phpmyadmin, borrenlo si es asi con:

# rm -r /srv/http/phpMyAdmin

Copiamos el archivo de configuracion de ejemplo que vienen con nuestro nuevo phpmyadmin al directorio de configuracion de nuestro servidor httpd:

# cp /etc/webapps/phpmyadmin/apache.example.conf /etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-phpmyadmin.conf

Agregamos la siguientes lineas a nuestro archivo de configuracion del server httpd /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf para que pueda reconocer el paquete phpmyadmin:

# phpMyAdmin configuration
Include conf/extra/httpd-phpmyadmin.conf

En el archivo /usr/share/webapps/phpMyAdmin/.htaccess comentamos la linea:

deny from all

quedando de la siguiente forma:

#deny from all

Abrimos el archivo /etc/php/php.ini y cambiamos la siguiente linea:

open_basedir = /srv/http/:/home/:/tmp/:/usr/share/pear/

por esta:

open_basedir = /srv/http/:/home/:/tmp/:/usr/share/pear/:/srv/:/usr/share/webapps/:/etc/webapps/

decomentamos los modulos mcrypt y mysql:

quedando asi:

añadimos una frase secreta buscamos la siguientte linea:
