This isn’t the first time something like this has been proposed, but it may be the first to get built. It takes different architecture archetypes and “inserts” them next to each other in one unifying structure.

Rather than design a run-of-the-mill skyscraper for a new hotel in Xian, China, architects 3Gatti decided to put lots of smaller buildings on a gigantic set of shelves.

Probably not. If anything, they maybe got their cues from the televisions of the 1950s that had a furniture aesthetic. Still, pretty cool idea.

Chicago Architecture firm, Studio Gang, has expanded on a student project done while on spring break using their own designs and lolcatz.

With a 10-minute time limit, the contestants used only images of Studio Gang architecture and Studio Gang cats to churn out a series of ‘Archi-cats’ that riff on the firm’s very own designs and renderings.

Grandmother Sues Apple For “Dangerous” Glass Architecture

I think we all knew this day was coming, when people weren’t responsible for being dumb.

The octogenarian filed her suit after she walked into the front (glass) door of the Manhasset Apple Store in Long Island, a collision which left her with a broken nose, she claims.

…they have to appreciate the danger that this high-tech modern architecture poses to some people.

High Line Phase 3

I need to hook up with some of these celebs who love architecture so I can spend their money on great design.

Here is an excerpt from one day of Moby’s blog. He has been pretty good at updating it daily.

when seen from the outside with it’s black metal door it kind of looks like a crystal meth dispensary with shrubbery. although that sounds very old timey, like ‘ye olde crystal meth dispensary’.

but then you walk in the front door and you see gigant-o (that’s a technical term in architecture circles) windows looking dramatically out over the hills and mountains and griffith observatory and downtown
