It’s hard to think that your body actually needs it when cholesterol gets so much bad press. There are two sorts of cholesterol in your body, bad cholesterol or LDL cholesterol and good cholesterol also known as HDL cholesterol. Cholesterol in your body is necessary to make hormones, vitamin D and bile salts to stay healthy.

On the other hand, the bad cholesterol may cause you many problems. The main concern with LDL cholesterol is that it could deposit cholesterol onto artery walls that will produce plaque. The plaque in turn will make the arteries to narrow and then block. This may cause blood flow to be blocked, which is not good news for your heart.

There are a lot of confusing terms being said when it comes to cholesterol. One of those terms is dietary cholesterol. You could think that all dietary cholesterol is bad, but actually, dietary cholesterol doesn’t raise blood cholesterol as high as you could think. The two bad guys here are saturated fats and trans fatty acids.

So what you need to do when you think of cholesterol problems is to lower your levels of bad cholesterol. The best way to do this is by changing your diets. As well as reducing foods with bad cholesterol such as meat, eggs, dairy and seafood, you should also eat different foods that will lower LDL levels.

Dieting can be slow and frustrating but what if you could trick your body into losing weight faster? Would you be interested? (...)

Dieting can be slow and frustrating but what if you could trick your body into losing weight faster? Would you be interested? In this article I’ll lay out for you 3 simple ‘tricks’ that are safe, effective, and will help you lose fat faster.

1. Trick Your Body Into Thinking It is Starving – This sounds a little outrageous but it is essential to faster fat loss. By cutting your carbs you will signal your body to start producing ’starvation’ hormones. These hormones are responsible freeing stored body fat and shuttling it to your liver and muscles so that it can be used as energy. You don’t need to starve yourself (that’s a bad idea). Just trick your body by reducing your carbohydrate intake to 50-100g per day to trick your system and crank up your fat loss.

2. Trick Your Mind and Stomach Into Thinking That You Are Eating More – One major problem with dieting is hunger. The inability to deal with hunger while dieting is one of the biggest reasons why many people fail on their diets and can’t lose weight. This is an easy fix – just trick your body into thinking that it is eating more food than it really is. How can you do this? Eat more green leafy (spinach, kale, lettuce) and/or fibrous vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, brussels sprouts, etc). These kinds of vegetables have a lot of ‘bulk’ to them but not a lot of calories. This means you can eat a lot more food without consuming extra calories. You actually trick your body in two different ways. The first is visually. There is a big difference from a psychological perspective when you sit down to eat a plate overflowing with food vs. a plate that just has a few pieces scattered on it. The second trick occurs in your stomach. Your stomach has stretch receptors that signal the brain, letting it know your stomach is full and that you should stop eating. These receptors don’t sense calories, they sense volume. Eating lots of green leafy and fibrous vegetables will activate these stretch receptors and you’ll feel full even on less calories.

3. Trick Your Body Into Thinking That It is Time to Build Muscle – Successful long term weight loss hinges on your ability to maintain and stimulate your metabolism. The major driving force behind your metabolism is your muscle. Muscle is a metabolic powerhouse that burns massive amounts of calories allowing you to peel off the pounds. The people that lose muscle when dieting are doomed to not only slow weight loss but also being stuck with the ’skinny fat’ look once they are done dieting. Increasing your protein intake while dieting will help prevent muscle loss because certain amino acids found in the protein you eat work on the DNA level to stimulate protein synthesis (i.e. muscle building). Your body is smart (well not too smart as this article is dedicated to tricking it) and doesn’t like to waste resources so if it is building muscle then it won’t at the same time start breaking it down. This little trick will spare your hard earned muscle from destruction when you are dieting and allow you to keep your metabolism cranking.

There you go. Pretty simple…Eat more protein, less carbs, and more green vegetables to trick your body into losing weight fast. Put these tricks into action and you’ll be losing weight 2x faster than all your friends.

The local medical center is advertising a “heart screening” in order to determine your risk of heart disease. This is a voluntary screening, and costs $50. You go in, get and EKG, Cholesterol check, and CT calcium score. These are supposed to be good predictors of heart disease.

A family member of mine went in to have his screening done. He’s in his mid-50’s, has never smoked, is not overweight, and quite consciously watches his diet. He has never had any heart problems, (but there have been in some in the family).

His screening was perfectly normal. No abnormalities on the EKG, cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and Trig’s all within normal. His ‘calcium score’ was 0 which signifies the lowest risk category.

After the screening, the cardiologist suggested he go on a prescription cholesterol lowering medication.

HuH?

Yep, with all seriousness he was told he should be on one of these medications.

Give me a break.

He said no thanks.

Millions of Americans suffer from it, but what really are the Heart Disease? There is almost as many myths and misinformation about the causes of heart disease as there are actual causes. Everything from fatty foods, to high cholesterol, to lack of exercise is included in the list of causes of heart disease, but what truly belongs there?A Realistic Look At The Causes Of Heart Disease, the first thing to understand is the coronary heart disease is not one singular disease, but rather a combination of factors that results in a possibly deadly condition that can result in cardiac arrest. While diet and exercise do play a huge role in the disease, this role may not be nearly as prominent as doctors and scientists over the last 30 years or so have lead us to believe. One of the leading and most dangerous causes of heart disease is damage to the heart muscle or a congenital defect. Damage can be caused by a viral, bacterial, fungal, rickettsial or parasitic disease. These dangerous disease can cause a serious weakening of the heart muscle which eventually leads to heart disease.

Each of these high risk factors for Cholesterol & Heart Disease are caused by situations not related to exercise or diet. That is not to say that diet and exercise are not important to cardiac health, but blaming all causes of heart disease on those factors alone is grossly incorrect.

There are literally dozens of risk factors for heart disease. The most commonly cited ones are high blood cholesterol, smoking, lack of exercise, stress, and being overweight. Of these the strongest link between to a direct cause is smoking. The other causes of heart disease do have significant bearing, but none as strong as smoking. While many may say that most smokers will exhibit the other qualities in addition to smoking, if you look at the raw data and factor out the additional causes smoking still carries the strongest correlation to heart disease. Another huge factor in heart disease is stress. Doctors have noted that heart attacks strike in the months after severe emotion trauma. Highlighted condition include death, bankruptcy, layoff, and relationship failure. In each of these situations the risk of cardiac arrest is significantly increased. While diet is important there are other factors that will effect the likelihood of developing heart disease. It is best to try eliminate or mitigate as many of the factors as you can to avoid being a high risk candidate for a heart attack.

Despite the bad press that cholesterol receives, it is a naturally occurring substance produced by our bodies. In order for our body to function properly we need cholesterol. (...)

Despite the bad press that cholesterol receives, it is a naturally occurring substance produced by our bodies. In order for our body to function properly we need cholesterol. Cholesterol helps to form certain cell membranes and hormones. Two types of cholesterol exist, HDL and LDL, and our body produces both of these in the amounts required. Supplementation is not needed which is why excess cholesterol can be harmful. The best way to control this is by eating a low carb cholesterol diet.

With a low carb cholesterol diet, the types of foods that will increase body fat are eliminated or reduced. This is the main reason why a low carb cholesterol diet will work in most cases. Insulin and sugar levels, along with body fat, are increased by foods that are high in carbohydrates, like starchy foods and foods high in sugar. The danger with consuming too much of these types of food is that cholesterol levels are raised, which can lead to heart problems and other health issues.

Cholesterol is present in a number of foods, especially those containing saturated or trans-fats. A low carb cholesterol diet that reduces sweets and saturated and trans-fats will result in a lowering of both body fat and bad cholesterol levels. Most overweight patients have elevated cholesterol levels and would benefit from implementing a low carb low cholesterol diet.

Eating low carb foods decreases the production of insulin by the body. This in turn requires the body to use stored excess sugars and fats for converting into energy. Since the body is burning more sugar and fat under a low carb cholesterol diet than you are consuming, you can lose the extra weight more quickly without putting your health in danger.

Carbs and sugar supplements are the key things to look out for in a low carb cholesterol diet. Aside from watching out for the carb and sugar content, the diet is pretty open. When you have a good handle on what foods contain the most carbs and cholesterol, you can make better choices. Using this knowledge, you will be able to plan a good diet that doesn’t sacrifice flavor and nutrition.

You may be surprised at the variety of foods that can be eaten on a low carb cholesterol diet. With greater awareness of the benefits of reducing cholesterol, more products are now available at the supermarket that are geared for improving heart health. Even previously forbidden foods such as pasta now have low carb varieties which can be eaten on this plan.

If you want to lose weight, feel healthier, have more energy and get faster results on your cholesterol levels, exercise is an important key factor. Double check with your doctor before you begin any new eating plan, including a diet lowering cholesterol, to be absolutely certain this is the right choice for you. If you are pregnant or nursing, or if you already have a medical condition that might limit you, it is extremely important for you to get the go-ahead from your doctor.

This is part 2 of my review of Cholesterol Secrets (www.cholesterolsecrets.com). Part 1 discussed the ordering process and events that lead to me ordering this product. (...)

This is part 2 of my review of Cholesterol Secrets (www.cholesterolsecrets.com). Part 1 discussed the ordering process and events that lead to me ordering this product. I’ve had a chance to thoroughly read this report, and have to say, it’s quite a good primer on the topic of cholesterol. The report is a 60 page PDF document that I was able to open and download without problems.

The first 17 pages are an overview of what cholesterol is, HDL, LDL (good and bad cholesterol), what does your cholesterol level mean, and some risks of having high cholesterol. All in all this is a succinct, easy to understand primer on cholesterol for the average reader.

The next section gives practical tips and advice on how to lower you cholesterol with diet and exercise, which is traditionally the first choice ‘therapy’ for high cholesterol levels.

The next 20 pages is dedicated to the 17 advertised remedies to naturally lower your cholesterol. In the past couple weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of research on cholesterol, and lowering cholesterol online. In doing this, I have come across some of the information presented in cholesterol secrets. However, many of the 17 remedies I hadn’t seen before. There is also a very handy 2-3 page section that is basically a ‘quick-reference’ guide to these natural health remedies that I’ve found to be quite an added bonus. It makes it very easy to implement the techniques, you just print out the couple pages, and you can bring them into your natural foods or grocery store and get the recommended remedies. It also contains the dosing information, and i found it convenient to have while getting into the routine of using the ‘natural secrets.’

At the end of the report, there are also a couple other ‘bonus items,’ such as a grocery list and additional resources for more information.

The only thing I missed in this report was references for some of the cited information. There were some specific sources and studies discussed, but no reference information. I personally like to be able to review sources if possible, and wasn’t able to do so in this report.

Overall, I’d say the cholesterolsecrets.com report is a thorough overview on the subject of cholesterol, and natural remedies to fight high cholesterol. I’d say it saved quite a bit of time and energy searching, and provided more information than I found in many hours of researching on my own.

Now, the test. In my next post, I’ll let you know what MY cholesterol was last time I had it checked, and how I’m going to use the information in this report!

Last night I ordered the Cholesterol Secrets report by Joe Barton. The product is an immediate download pdf file that purports to have the “Best Natural Remedies for Lowering Cholesterol” on the sales page.

First, let me just say that I’ve been burned before when buying online reports and ‘e-books.’ So I’m always a little cautious before whipping out the ol’ visa card when I see a sales page like this. Well, as I talked about in yesterdays post, I’m really curious about this whole cholesterol thing, and since mine was ‘borderline’, it’s just been bugging me! I have no desire to go on any kind of prescription, so I’ve been really striving to try to find accurate information about the evils of cholesterol.

The ordering process for ‘cholesterol secrets’ was a little cumbersome but certainly not the worst I’ve seen by any stretch. When you start putting in your information to order, you are presented with a ‘do you want fries with that’ type of offer which offered his big book of more natural health reports.

I have to say at this point I was starting to roll my eyes, but as I reviewed the offer, It really is a pretty decent deal. One pleasant surprise was that as I went through the order process, the price for the cholesterol secrets report was $19.95, not the $39.95 as stated on the sales page. On the receipt, it said something about a 50% off discount. Well, the offer for the 40 extra reports was offered at $19.95, so I did accept this offer. So basically I got the cholesterol secrets report and the access to the other 40 reports for the price I thought I was going to pay for only the cholesterol report. Not bad. (you also have the option to upgrade to a printed copy of the reports for an extra charge- I think it was another $9.95 plus s&h but don’t quote me on that!) He also includes a free trial to a website, a free $25 gift card (I don’t know how you get that, there weren’t any other instructions).

Below is a copy of my receipt for the details:

Well, after you finished the order, the download links were presented, and also an email was sent with my receipt and download links, so once purchased, the products pdf files which were very easy to get and view. In fact the download page even included a link to adobe to get the reader if you don’t have it. Seems like a nice touch. Now it’s time to sit down with this Cholesterol Secrets report and see what it includes. More on that later…
