Media Communication students from Neuqua Valley High School will be videotaping this year's graduation ceremony as a fundraiser for NVTV. The DVDs make a great gift for those family members who are unable to attend the ceremonies, or for those who would like to remember the day for years to come. There will be 2 opportunities to purchase a copy of the graduation ceremony. You may pre-order or you may order a copy at the ceremony on May 26th. If you wish to avoid long lines at graduation, pre-order your DVD copy today by filling out the form below and mailing it with your check(made payable to NVHS) postmarked no later than Friday, May 17th, to:

To place your order at the graduation ceremony, please stop by one of the four NVTV tables in the lobby of the NIU Convocation Center beginning one hour prior to graduation or immediately following the ceremony. All orders must be paid for at the time the order is placed. Absolutely NO orders will be accepted after May 26th. This is a firm deadline and no exceptions will be made. While checks are the preferred method of payment, cash will be accepted (exact change only please). Please include phone # and Student ID number on the check.

Attention all badminton lovers! If you love badminton, here is your opportunity to compete. The Neuqua Valley Badminton team will be hosting the BLUE & GOLD BIRDIE BASH on Friday, May 17, 2013. Competition will begin at 5:30pm in the Aux and Gymnastics gym at the Main Campus. You must have a partner to play. Mixed doubles’ teams are welcome. The tournament entry fee is $20 per team. You can vote for your favorite burger by ordering it off the menu on the evening of May 13th. 10% of proceeds will go back to our school and the winning burger will be featured on the Tom & Eddie’s menu for a month, as well as compete against the winning burgers from Waubonsie and Metea! The Outdoor Club will be going to Knoch Knolls Park in Naperville to play Frisbee Golf. We will be meeting in Knoch Knolls parking lot on Tuesday, May 7th at 3:15 pm and play a couple rounds of frisbee golf until about 4:30. This is open to any student looking to get outside and have a great time! Please bring your own frisbee. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Mertz or see him in D100. Attention all students taking AP exams: AP Exams begin next Monday. Please check the NVHS website under HOT TOPICS for your testing location, date, and room assignments. For test day, remember to bring your PHOTO ID, pencils and a calculator if appropriate for your test. Most tests this year are at Community Christian Church (on the corner of Ogden and Rickert) with a few tests here at NV.

Attention all Students: AP exams will be held for the next three weeks in several areas here at the Main building. Just a reminder to you that bells will not ring at the Main Building while testing takes place. During option periods the LMC will be available for quiet study only. 1. DURING EXAMS: ALL classes will have a Final Exam and meet on the scheduled exam day. All exam periods are 90 minutes in length and are preceded by a 45 minute class period. Students are required to be on time for the class period and the exam. If a student arrives late, he or she may be sent to the Class House to study and will have to return at 1:15 p.m. for the Makeup Exam Period with his or her teacher. Test Makeup Period will be 1:15-2:45 each exam day.

2. Students are expected to take ALL exams during their scheduled time. If a student is ill on the day of the exam, parents should call the appropriate House to report the absence AND make contact with the teacher of the course to schedule a makeup exam. Test Make-up Period will be 1:15-2:45 each exam day.

3. Students are not required to be in attendance during their Lunch/Option period; however Quiet Study will be accommodated in several locations at Main and Gold. Also, students will be expected to stay in their exam rooms for the entire exam period, even if they finish early. Students should bring other material to study to use their time wisely.

4. TRANSPORTATION: Morning buses will pick up and drop off students at school at the regular time. Buses will leave after the last test period of the day and depart at approximately 12:35pm.

5. ATTENDANCE: NVHS strongly discourages pre-planned absences during exams. Parents requesting an extended absence which includes final exam week must submit their request IN WRITING to the school Principal. Students may pick up the Pre-Planned Absence Form in the Class House and attach the letter from the parents before bringing it to the Main Office. If the requested absence during finals weeks is approved, the student must arrange with each of his/her teachers to make up exams.
