World's first flying car that can travel at 100mph cleared for take-off

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Sat, 06 Mar 2021 15:28:00 +0000

The world's first flying car that can travel at 100 miles per hour and fly up to 10,000 feet has been approved for take-off.

The Terrafugia Transition 'roadable aircraft' has been given the all-clear by the Federal Aviation Authority in the USA.

It has been granted an FAA Special Light-Sport Aircraft airworthiness certificate by the official aviation body. This means that it meets the standards for flight, at least.

So despite it not being on the road (or in the sky) just yet, it does mean that day could come pretty soon in the future.

The vehicle has a 27-foot wingspan that folds down to make it small enough for the whole thing to fit inside a single car garage.

A full air and road model of the two-seater craft is planned for release in 2022.

The flying car is powered by a 100 horsepower fuel-injected engine, and can fly at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, and altitudes of 10,000 feet.

It has a range of approximately 400 miles, and safety features include an airframe parachute and a carbon fibre safety cage.

The idea of the vehicle is that you'll fly the plane, before landing it on a small stretch of road or a small airport, before simply driving it off to wherever you want to go.

It won't be cheap, though. In 2018, NBC News reported that the two-seater Transition would be priced at $400,000 (£287,254).

Currently, pilots can buy an air-only model that runs on both car fuel and aircraft fuel if they want to take it for a spin ahead of release.

Those who want to get one will need both a sport pilot's certificate as well as a valid driver's licence.

The vehicle will still need to be to be declared roadworthy.

The Chinese company has been pursuing this plan to create a roadable aircraft for years - with this new certificate representing a significant step in the right direction.

General manager Kevin Colburn praised his team's efforts during what he called 'an extremely challenging pandemic year'.

Governor Udom Emmanuel has stated that Akwa Ibom State Government has not received any financial assistance from the federal government in the fight against Covid-19.

The governor, who made this known during a routine media chat to update citizens on efforts of state government in tackling the Covid-19 scourge, asserted that it was important to clear the misconception that the state was being supported financially by the federal government in this direction.

“As I’m talking to you, I’m yet to receive one Naira from the federal government for the fight against Covid-19. A lot of people believe we are doing all these things because the federal government has given us so much money. No, not at all. We do this because we see our responsibility to save lives and I had said that I will be at the forefront of this fight”. Gov Udom stated.

He admonished citizens that despite oall what his administration has done to keep the state safe, the primary responsibility to remain to save doesn’t rest with the governor, health workers or government, but rests on an individual adult citizen of the state.

Governor Emmanuel seized the platform to thank Akwa Ibom people, corporate organizations and development partners that have worked with the state to salvage the situation, saying ” it’s been a very challenging time and as I said during the last briefing that if God does not take this away as we have prayed then we must find a way to survive”.

“Let me appreciate all our health workers, security agents, Christian Association of Nigeria, political and other stakeholders and all our citizens who have shown understanding and cooperation within this period. I appreciate those who obey the guidelines and even those who do not obey, but mainly people working in our case management centres, call centres and security agents who have done a fantastic job within this period.

While acknowledging the support of the media in the fight and soliciting continued understanding and support from citizens, he revealed that one of those who criticized his administration’s response to Covid-19 was unfortunately stricken by the infection and the same medical facilities and system he condemned were used to treat him.

Daddy Freeze, Fined N5 Million By High Court for committing adultery

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Sat, 06 Mar 2021 15:09:00 +0000

Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on February 18, 2021, ordered radio personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, aka Daddy Freeze, to pay the sum of 5 million Naira for committing adultery with Benedicta Elechi.

The Nigerian radio broadcaster, Daddy Freeze was ordered to pay the money to Paul Odekina, who was married to Elechi at the time the adulterous act was committed.

In the court documents obtained by one of our correspondents, with the suit NO – PHC/403MC/2012, Mrs Benedicta Nkemdilim Odekina is the Petitioner/Cross Respondent, while Mr Paul Odekina is 1st Respondent/Cross Petitioner and Ifedayo Olarinde (Freeze) is the Co-Respondent to Petition/Cross Respondent.

The presiding Judge, Hon Justice Akpughunum, ruled that the OAP is to pay the sum of N5m as “damages for depriving Odekina amiable consort of his wife”.

The document read in part, “The sum of N5,000,000 is awarded against Ifedayo Olarinde as damages for depriving the cross petitioner of the amiable consort of his wife and for injury suffered as a result of his adultery with the petitioner/cross respondent.

The judge then proceeded to dissolve the marriage between Paul and Benedicta due to Benedicta’s adulterous act with Daddy Freeze.

The document read,

“An order of Decree Nisi is hereby granted, dissolving the marriage contracted between Paul Ochenu Odekina and Benedicta Nkemdilim Elechi-Agunabo on 26/1/2002 at the Chaplaincy of the Holy Rosary CIWA at Port Harcourt on the ground that the marriage has been broken down irretrievably by reason of the Petitioner/ Cross respondent having committed adultery and intolerable behaviour of the petitioner/cross respondent which the respondent cannot be expected to live with the petitioner/cross respondent.”

Paul was also granted custody of the children produced in the marriage, while Benedicta was ordered to hand over the children’s passports and birth certificates.

In a phone interview with one of our correspondents, Daddy Freeze confirmed the development but noted that he would release a statement on his Instagram page in due time.

He also said,

“I will release a statement on my Instagram handle in due time; not today, but in due time. There are things that I want to ensure that I have proper information on before I release my statement.

“Here is my take, watch my Instagram handle. I will address this properly and release my statement but I have to be guarded. I am just discussing with the appropriate quarters how best to address this issue. Please, just watch my Instagram handle. Before the end of next week, I will have a response.”

Unknown gunmen on Thursday kidnapped scores of residents of Tungan Maje village, a community bordering the Federal Capital Territory and Niger State.

The hoodlums reportedly stormed the village where they kidnapped about 20 persons after shooting sporadically in the air.

Vigilantes in the community were said to have put spirited resistance against them, but the kidnappers escaped into Niger State with their victims through a nearby forest surrounded by rocky terrain.

The FCT police spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, however, said 10 persons were kidnapped, adding that five of the victims had been rescued.

He stated that a joint team of police operatives from the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Rapid Response Squad and the Zuba Police Division responded swiftly to the attack.

BBNaija 2020: kiddwaya Advises Nengi and Vee over issues.

noreply@blogger.com (Zoekafui) — Thu, 10 Sep 2020 16:18:00 +0000

Billionaire son, Kiddwaya has said there is no point fighting each other and that if there was to be a fight, it should have been him and Laycon.

Kiddwaya said this following Vee and Nengi’s outburst last night which has eventually led to the two ladies keeping their distance from each o ther.

According to him, he should be the one fuming with anger and lashing out on Laycon as a part of him could be held responsible for Erica’s disqualification but he is not because they are men who do not take things to heart as women do.

Laycon concurred and advised Vee and Nengi trash out issues quickly.

noreply@blogger.com (Zoekafui) — Thu, 10 Sep 2020 15:36:00 +0000

It seems Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Kiddwaya, is gradually getting tired of Nengi's clinginess towards him as he was spotted earlier pushing her away.

His tiredness might be as a result of the departure of his love interest, Erica, from the Lockdown house.

Earlier today, Kiddwaya was captured sitting amongst his team members on his bed when Nengi came to him, Kidd then asked her “what did I do now”, pushed her, and told her to go away but she refused.

A frustrated Kidd then called out to Ozo to come and take her away.

Kiddway was mater heard telling his team members that he wants Nengi to leave first before they commence their meeting.

After a while, Nengi then called Kidd “stingy London boy”, Kiddwaya asked why and she said “you refused to give me chin chin”.

Surprised at her statement, Kidd responded telling her that he didn't know that was what she came for, he thought she came to look for his trouble.

Afterwards, Kidd went to his luggage, brought out the chin chin and gave Nengi out of i
