The job advertisement has been placed today (6 March) and a selection process will take place on 16 April. Julia Mulligan said 'I am confident that the re-running of this process will result in a pool of good candidates. I didn't make an appointment last month as I wanted to be absolutely sure that I had the best possible choice of candidates for this vital role and I am convinced that this will be the case this time around.' The Commissioner looks forward to being able to announce her preferred candidate for the new Chief on 17 April following which the Police and Crime Panel will need to hold a confirmation hearing before the appointment can be finalised.
