Dathan Ritzenhein, who finished 14th (second American to Meb Keflezighi) says he’s pleased with his first race after the Olympic Trials Marathon, where he finished fourth. He’ll sharpen up with track work and try for the Olympic Team at 10,000 meters.

Kim Smith couldn’t shake Dado as she tried to get away in the late stages, surging despite strong headwinds; afterward, she said, “I tried to tell myself that she was hurting as much as I was, but obviously she wasn’t." (Running into a headwind, it must be said, is much harder than running directly behind someone who’s running into a headwind.) "Kim Smith is a very strong runner,” said Dado. “I was fatigued, but I was able to stay with her and use my kick.” Dado says she’ll run Boston in April and hopes that her performance there will qualify her for the Ethiopian team for the London Olympics.
