Aotea square downtown Auckland

One of the main attractions in Auckland, the square is also a popular meeting point among the English students. During lunch time it gets very busy with workers and students having a well deserved time off.

That’s Auckland City Hall, venue for important events in the city.

I had the opportunity to visit the movie set a couple of weeks ago and as you will see below, it looks great!

The set is the stage for the 2 new coming Hobbit movies and we’ve had a surprise today: Sir Peter Jackson is looking for more Elves! If you are at least 1.82 metre tall and slim you can apply online. Men and women are welcome!

After having a great weekend and tour with a family from Canada touring Rotorua and Waitomo, it’s time to head South to Queenstown.

It’s a private tour again and this time the group is much smaller. We will be staying in Queenstown for 2 nights, doing a day trip to Milford Sound, then we will spend 1 night at Mount Cook.

Fororecast looks all right and we hope for a great time down there!

Hobbiton farm tour

Once you are standing in front of the houses you can’t resist: you have to take a picture by the door! They are really small these Hobbits! You can go on a tour and visit one of the location of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. You are going to take great pictures! The farm is also set for the latest Hobbiton movies to be released in December 2012 and December 2013.
