Season Wrap-Up

As you may know, your Warriors ended the season with a tough 33-6.  I feel as though we all learned from this season though…I know I did.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to play with my teammates.  I appreciate every one of them.  But looking forward now, there are only three weeks left of my senior year!  Can you believe it?!

Words can’t explain how excited I am for graduation.  Things have been going quickly.  We just had Parents Day at school and the Spring Formal (Prom) last weekend.  We have a variety of other things coming up, then exams, and finally…graduation.  We are all ready for summer – to get better and improve for the next level, college.

I’m proud of every player on the team. We all are prepared to do big things this summer and in the future.

I recently signed my Letter of Intent to DePaul University.  I’m glad all of my coaches and Mrs. Smith were there to watch me sign the papers to my future college.  My parents couldn’t be there, but the people who were are special to me too.  I’m ecstatic to step foot on DePaul’s campus.  I can’t wait to help rebuild the program and turn us into a dynamic program like in years past.  The day I signed I learned that Oak Hill Alum and DePaul great Rod Strickland will be my assistant coach!  Oak Hill is definitely representing in Chicago.

Oak Hill has given me a winning attitude and I will take that to DePaul.

In this diary, I really want to thank everyone that’s been around these past five years. Coach Allen, Coach B-Rock, T-Bone and Coach Smith and Mrs. Smith have all taught me what it means to be a true Warrior, on and off the court.  I want to thank the teachers, faculty, staff, and all the students who have taught me things as well.  I appreciate everyone and will remember all of you.

His 82-year-old father.

Clennon Lewis was shot in the ear and leg during the Korean War, and he survived a helicopter crash in Vietnam because the aircraft landed in a body of water. He’s had two triple bypass surgeries, the first in 1975, the next 21 years later, and he hasn’t let prostate cancer or several aneurysms defeat him…
