Atlanta is surrounded by green trees and tall grasses, many of which reside in the many parks that the city holds. The area around Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments is perfect for walking your dog or jogging with a friend in the park. Inman Park not only holds beautiful flowers and plants, but also is the site of many festivals and social gatherings.

The neighborhood is fantastic and it’s filled with beautiful homes, shops, and other interesting places to visit. Enjoy a quiet afternoon stroll or go with friends to an event. What is your favorite part of Inman Park?

Here at Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments, our residents have convenient access to the best shopping, dining, and entertainment in the Atlanta area. Our community has easy access to I-85, Lenox Mall, Toco Hills, and the Emory area. We are minutes from GA-400, the I-285 interchange, and downtown Atlanta. The Virginia Highlands is just a short drive away. Find just what you need and never be bored!

It’s very important that where you choose to live not only has the best in site amenities but is also imperative that you are near everything that allows your life to run smoothly. Many of our residents work in Atlanta. The close access our community has to the major traffic veins makes commuting a breeze…well, minus the traffic.

Classic Bands From Atlanta: The Black Crowes

Atlanta is home to numerous celebrities. Whether they are actors, athletes, stage performers, historical stars, or musical acts, our city is ripe with talent. It’s always great to inform new residents of Atlanta and Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments about the great celebrities in the city. Some of our favorite bands, from now and the past, can trace their roots back to Atlanta.

The Black Crowes are a famous grunge and blues rock band that rose to stardom during the 1990s. They were formed in 1989 and continue to be a driving force in the music world today. So far, their discography spans 9 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous chart topping singles.

The Black Crowes opened for famous bands like Heart, Robert Plant, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Aerosmith, and The Grateful Dead. They’ve sold over 30 million albums and have been named ‘The Most Rock N’ Roll, Rock N’ Roll Band in the World’ by Melody Maker. In 1990, Rolling Stone named the band the “Best New American Band”.

Songs like ‘She Talks to Angels’,'Twice As Hard’, and ‘Jealous Again’, became 90s theme songs for the youth of the decade. Residents of Atlanta and all across the world have great memories of attending their concerts. What memories have you made while listening to The Black Crowes and other bands of the 1990s?

Let’s face it, not everyone has a ‘green thumb’ when it comes to gardening and keeping plants in your home. Here at The Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments, there are many residents who are eager to decorate their homes with spring and summer greenery. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, plants die sooner than you would like.

Teach your children about keeping plants alive or learn how to keep indoor accents of your own with the following easy to care for indoor plants!

Enjoy indoor plant accents

Golden pothos vines and spider plants are hard to kill. They make for breathtaking hanging displays and require minimal care. Spider plants produce smaller plants that can be re-potted in separate areas of your home, too.

Corn plants, or false palms, are hearty plants that make great home decor. Enjoy various kinds and colors of cacti as well! They make great accents for windowsills.

Hear Great Music at the Sweet Auburn Music Fest in Atlanta

There are many spring and summer festivals in and around Atlanta and Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments. The Sweet Auburn Music Fest will take place off of Auburn Avenue during the weekend of May 18th through the 20th. Residents can enjoy a great weekend of socialization, live music performances, and so much more! Check out the many vendors that sign up this year, too! Hot 107.9 and Praise 102.5 are just a couple of the sponsors of this exciting event.

Live performances will include the distinct sounds of Hip Hop, Gospel, and R & B. There will be many acts that will blend these music genres, making for a truly unique sound and music experience. Numerous people in Atlanta love working out and yoga is their exercise of choice. Unite mind and body and acquire a new sense of self by practicing different types of yoga throughout the city, minutes from Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments. There are many yoga studios, but highly recommended ones including Red Hot Yoga, on Miami Circle, and Balance Yoga, on East Paces Ferry, really bring joy and experienced tutors to the classes.

Hot yoga is the detoxifying process of burning calories and cleansing the body by doing yoga in a heated room. Bring your friends and extra towels! At Balance Yoga, you will find active classes that aren’t boring and will have you leaving satisfied and comfortable!

Atlanta Food Trucks Finally Have a Permanent Home!

Atlantans know that many of the city’s beloved food trucks are mobile, setting up shop in different places throughout the week. From a combination of soul food and Mexican to cupcakes to steak, each food truck is serving up different and unique cuisine for every palate. Now, residents at The Oaks of Briarcliff Apartments and others in the city don’t have to search to find their favorite food truck.

The Atlanta Food Truck Park, a three acre plot of land off of Howell Mill Road, will feature an amphitheater, benches, bocce court, and marketplace. Other than the examples of the food trucks that will be located there, weekends will see a fresh farmer’s market, where local growers will come to sell their produce!

There are plenty of highly recommended Mexican Restaurants like Tacos and Tequilas Mexican Grill, on Roswell Road. They have an extensive menu that will encourage patrons to choose something new! What is your favorite Mexican Restaurant? What are your favorite authentic dishes?
