The Cancer Support Team (CAST) is a new support group at Oakwood Community Church that provides emotional and spiritual support for women with any type of cancer, including women who are newly diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment, or cancer survivors, as well as those who are caregivers for friends or family members with cancer.

CAST meets on the first Thursday of every month at Oakwood Community Church. Morning and evening sessions are available, starting at 10:00am and 6:30pm respectively. You do not have to attend Oakwood Community Church to participate – all women from our community are welcome to be a part of the CAST group.  So spread the word and tell your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers about the Cancer Support Team.

Lynda Mitchell facilitates the CAST meetings.  She is a cancer survivor who has a heart to provide encouragement and support for other women whose lives have been impacted by cancer.  Click here to learn more about CAST or to contact Lynda.

The Awana Grand Prix Race is a family-oriented affair that allows everyone to express their ingenuity by creating and racing their own wooden Grand Prix cars.  On Saturday January 21st, Oakwood’s doors will open at 11am for clubbers to check-in their cars. Join us at Oakwood anytime between 1:00-4:00pm to pray for the church's ministries.

We see in Scripture that the early church prayed together constantly. We can also see that everyone was involved in these prayer sessions, including women and Jesus’ family (Acts 1:14).  Oakwood is planning a Prayer Walk on Sunday, January 15th from 1:00 to 4:00pm.  You are invited to walk through the church, learn about the purpose and vision of our ministries, and pray for God to use each one to change lives and bring people closer to Him.  Parents can use this opportunity to demonstrate the importance of praying for the church to their children.  Let’s start the new year right by seeking God together and praying for our church and community.  Join us for the Prayer Walk anytime between 1:00 and 4:00pm on Sunday, January 15th at Oakwood Community Church!

Christmas Eve Service – 6:30pm

Our Christmas Eve service will feature a dramatic presentation with the innkeeper in Bethlehem, Christmas songs and a candlelight closing. During this one hour service, the nursery will not be staffed but will be open for parents who wish to use the room and stay with their little ones.

Christmas Morning Service – 10:30am

On Sunday, December 25th we will meet for worship at our normal time of 10:30am.  We will celebrate Christ’s birth with a family-friendly worship service featuring upbeat Christmas songs and a devotional message from Pastor Don.  The Christmas service will last about an hour.  The nursery and toddler rooms will be open and staffed to care for infants and toddlers.  Our SONshine Park children’s ministry will not be meeting on Christmas day, so older children will be in the worship service with their family.
