See African Community Where Males and Females don't Speak the same Language (Video)

2019-07-31T03:50:00.002-07:00

Recognized as a major tourist attraction in Nigeria and Africa, Cross River State has many unique tourist attractions that make it a state of choice.

One of these attractions abounds in a Ubang community in Obudu, Cross River State, where men speak a language distinct from that of their female counterparts.

Located in the northern part of Cross River State, Ubang is about a six-hour drive from Calabar, the state capital.

Surrounded by mountains, the Ubangais are mainly farmers, known for their cocoa, cassava, yams and producers of other cash crops.

The bilingual legacy of the Ubang clan goes back several centuries and according to different versions, when it was created, the Ubang people were particularly favored by God for being the guardian of two languages.

It is considered taboo for a man to speak the language of women and vice versa, even if both understand each other while speaking.

Those who in the past tried to speak the language of the other sex were ridiculed by the community, which naturally ended that.

For the community, the gift of linguistic variation remains a pride for the ubang people and has succeeded in passing on the tradition from generation to generation.

The community would also be a research center for academic purposes, hence the need for the government to pay attention to this untapped tourist attraction.

Funny Compilation of Worst things Mother-in-laws ever did: Real Confessions

2019-01-04T16:05:00.000-08:00

1. My husband and I went to visit my MIL at her house. She had moved into my hubby's old room and was showing us the changes she made. We sat on the bed to talk to her and, I kid you not, she said, "You know what I did in this bed? I masturbated."

2. My mother-in-law got upset because I wouldn’t tell her which s3x position her granddaughter was conceived in.

3. On the way out the door to go to the rehearsal dinner for my wedding, my MIL patted my stomach and asked if there was “something I wanted to let everyone know" about why we were getting married, implying I looked pregnant.

4. I was hosting Thanksgiving dinner and spent about seven to eight hours cooking. My MIL showed up with duplicate dishes of just about everything I made (we told her to only bring two dishes, tops). When I commented that we had a lot more food than I was expecting, she said "Well, we don't really need to put yours out, do we? Just put yours in the freezer."

I Never Agreed to Fight 20 Year Old KickBoxer, Floyd Mayweather Speaks Out

2018-11-08T05:31:00.001-08:00

American Millionaire boxer, Floyd Mayweather has announced his disagreement on the fight with 20-year-old Japanese kickboxer,Tenshin Nasukawa which was initially billed to hold on New Year’s Eve in Japan.

The 41-year-old had earlier confirmed the bout for 31st of December 2018 during a press conference which took place on Sunday night in Tokyo.

It was also understood that he revealed that he signed with Japanese mixed martial arts promotions company RIZIN Fighting Federation.

After the announcement, his sworn enemies, 50 Cent, Conor McGregor and many others blasted him for agreeing to fight a younger kickboxer.

Taking to his Instagram account this night, Mayweather denied he agreed to an official bout with Tenshin Nasukawa.

Now that I am back on U.S. soil after a long and disappointing trip to Tokyo, I now have the time to address you, my fans and the media in regard to the upcoming event on December 31st that was recently announced.
First and foremost, I want it to be clear that I, Floyd Mayweather, never agreed to an official bout with Tenshin Nasukawa. In fact (with all due respect) I have never heard of him until this recent trip to Japan.
Ultimately, I was asked to participate in a 9 minute exhibition of 3 rounds with an opponent selected by the “Rizen Fighting Federation”.
What I was originally informed of by Brent Johnson of “One Entertainment” was that this was to be an exhibition put on for a small group of wealthy spectators for a very large fee.
This exhibition was previously arranged as a “Special Bout” purely for entertainment purposes with no intentions of being represented as an official fight card nor televised worldwide.
Once I arrived to the press conference, my team and I were completely derailed by the new direction this event was going and we should have put a stop to it immediately.
I want to sincerely apologize to my fans for the very misleading information that was announced during this press conference and I can assure you that I too was completely blindsided by the arrangements that were being made without my consent nor approval.
For the sake of the several fans and attendees that flew in from all parts of the world to attend this past press conference, I was hesitant to create a huge disturbance by combating what was being said and for that I am truly sorry.
I am a retired boxer that earns an unprecedented amount of money, globally, for appearances, speaking engagements and occasional small exhibitions.

BBNaija's Khloe Cries Out Over Several Visa Denials

2018-11-08T04:38:00.000-08:00

Big Brother Naija 2018 star, Khloe is really angry as she shares her frustration with embassies that keep denying her visas.

According to her, the UK embassy has denied her visa three times, US twice and Canada once. ‘I’m so angry, pissed and frustrated. Been denied severally and it always put me in a bad state’ she said.

Guys let’s have a chat about EMBASSIES in Nigeria …
What are your experiences?
What do you think can be done ?
I’m so angry , pissed and frustrated .. been Denied severally and it always put me in a bad state.
UK – 3times
US – 2 times
CANADA- 1 time
The most annoying part is it’s non refundable application . Some even pay For fast tracking which it’s not a small change.
All documents required are complete but you still have a way of saying NO. Like my last uk application , the refusal letter was totally different from what was in the application and I was like where did I state this one. I said I’m freelance and you still asking me for salary records after explaining in a full letter how the money in my account comes in with evidence from the companies I worked for . Shame.
Yah all visit our country without stress but making ours hell and have an embassy in our country: SOME OF US CANT EVEN LIVE OUTSIDE NIGERIA .we just want to visit , explore and have fun . So sad * I think it’s fair enough to have a proper interview not that 1min interview claiming psychologist * I think it’s better to get a refund after refusal . At least 50%
* I think it’s cool to do a proper check on individuals
And so on .

50 Cent calls Floyd Mayweather's Next Fight Opponent an Uber Driver shows Proof

2018-11-06T04:16:00.000-08:00

Although he is busy working on a prequel to his Power TV series, 50 Cent always has time to fit trolling into his schedule.

Earlier today (Nov. 5), Fif went on Instagram account make fun of Floyd Mayweather's upcoming fight with Japanese kickboxer, Tenshin Nasukawa, which is set to take place on Dec. 31.

For this bit of trolling, Fif uploaded an image of himself of Floyd clapping while Nasukawa stands in front of him with his fists in the air. "Champ fighting a Uber driver before the IRS embarrass him again. Pay-pre-view my a$$, we watching this on YouTube. Get the strap #bellator #lecheminduroi," he captioned his Instagram post

Unfortunately for Floyd, it didn't stop there. Just a bit later on, 50 suggested that Floyd should've taken on Kazakhstan-bred middleweight boxer Gennady Golovkin. "What happen to GGG, couldn't find his phone number. Get the f$$k outta here with this sh%t," he said. "Champ done turned into a circus act ... at least Canelo fighting killers.".

Trolling doesn't stop at Floyd for the Get Rich or Die Tryin' rapper. Last month, he bought 200 seats to Ja Rule's concert so that the front row would be empty, which shows how petty the New York rapper can be.

This fight will mark as Floyd's return to the ring after announcing that he was retiring last year. Check out 50 Cent's Instagram post below.

Government should deduct tithes from workers’ salaries and forward to Church – Cleric

2018-10-29T14:05:00.001-07:00

A Catholic Archbishop of Kampala, Uganda, has proposed that the central government deducts 10% from the monthly salaries of workers, and forward the deductions directly to the church.

According to reports, Most Reverend Cyprian Kizito Lwanga stated this at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Rubaga during mass, according to Citizen TV, He said non-payment of tithes affects project development in the church.

His words;

“Whenever we ask for tithe, everyone gives only what they have at that time. But the Bible says a tenth of whatever you earn belongs to the church.
Give me your support as I front this proposal because it is good for us.
Aren’t you tired of putting money in the baskets all the time?”

Lwanga said he wanted Uganda emulate Germany, where citizens who are registered as Catholics, Protestants or Jews have a church tax (Kirchensteuer) of 8 to 9% deducted from their annual income.

The church tax is collected by the government and remitted to the respective faiths.

“I was told Germans make agreements with their government to deduct monthly tithe from their salaries and forward it to the church and this money they use to build and renovate their churches,” he added.

YCEE is not my lover - Simi

2016-09-03T10:01:00.002-07:00

Simi is quite young in the Nigerian music industry but the lady has been linked with quite a handful of guys with most of them in the entertainment industry.

From Adekunle Gold to Falz and to the latest, Ycee, not just a few believe the petite singer may have had one or two things to do with these artistes even though all parties have tried their best to convince the public that they are “just friends”.

But Simi didn’t seem to help matters when she posted online recently that she was in a “loving relationship” with rap artiste, YCEE.

While speaking to Saturday Beats on that, Simi claimed she was just “goofing around”.

Simi said, “There is no love triangle between Falz, Adekunle Gold and me. They are both great artistes that I work with and I enjoy working with them, that’s it. My account was not hacked when I tweeted that I was in a loving relationship with YCEE. People believe anything these days. We were obviously goofing around but some people saw it and believed. At the end of the day, I don’t think it is necessary to pay too much attention to it.

“Anybody that really paid attention to it would see that we were just playing around. I know some people took it seriously but it was a joke. I am a very playful person and I am always goofing around but I feel that some things I say are always taken too seriously then eventually, it is taken as news.

She further disclosed that she was in a relationship, saying, “There is a love interest in my life but I cannot say if he is an entertainer or not because I don’t like to talk about my private life. Why I shroud my personal life is because everything goes into the limelight, even things that are supposed to be kept private. I feel that people should protect the things they want to keep private. Everybody have things they go through daily but you do not need strangers to intrude in your privacy. As much as possible, keep what you can keep away from the limelight. My lover and I met before fame came my way and he is actually the best. I think he is one of the most mature people I have met. He is very understanding and he supports me. He pushes me to be the best I can be. When the time for marriage comes, you would get an invitation.”

Talking about her album, Simi said, “I am working towards releasing my album and hopefully, we would release it soon. I was hoping to release it this year but I don’t really know if it is still feasible. I don’t know if I would have the mental energy to mix and master the album. Because I am a perfectionist, I don’t know if anyone would want to do it because I would be contributing at every step of the production. However, before my album is out, I would release an EP with Falz and it would definitely come out this year.”

If I Win You all Leave - Donald Trump to Nigerians in the US

2016-01-17T11:17:00.000-08:00

American Billionaire and Republican Presidential Front-runner, Donald Trump, has shot a subtle warning to the Nigerian Community in the United States if he should win the forthcoming elections, he said all Nigerians would be made to
leave the country “when he becomes President”.

He made the “threat” during a rally at Wichita, Kansas. According to Donald Trump, Nigerians and Mexicans have taken all the jobs meant for honest hard working Americans.

In his words,

“To Make America great again, we need to get rid of the Muslims, Mexicans and the Africans, especially the Nigerians. They take all our jobs, jobs meant for honest hard working Americans, and when we don’t give them the jobs, the Muslims blow us up”, Trump also said.

“We need to get the Africans out. Not the blacks, the Africans. Especially the Nigerians. They’re everywhere. I went for a rally in Alaska and met just one African in the entire state. Where was he from? Nigeria! He’s in Alaska taking our jobs. They’re in Houston taking our jobs. Why can’t they stay in their own country? Why? I’ll tell you why. Because they are corrupt. Their Governments are so corrupt, they rob the people blind and bring it all here to spend. And their people run away and come down here and take our jobs! We can’t have that! If I become president, we’ll send them all home. We’ll build a wall at the Atlantic Shore. Then maybe we’ll re-colonize them because obviously they did not learn a damn thing from the British!”

His speech was met with raucous applause by the 10,000 strong predominantly Caucasian audience.

What this portends for Nigerians in the event of the Trump victory is definitely something to worry about, but the Nigerian Ambassador to the US has so far allayed fears of all Nigerians living in the USA, although according to some sources online, we gather he has secretly packed his bags and is set to move to Mexico or Canada if Trump becomes President.

Meet CCC Pastor who Preaches at daytime and do the unbelievable at night

2016-01-04T15:59:00.001-08:00

According to findings from our amebo reporters, Omogbo’s Facebook page says he preaches at the Celestial Church of Christ in Riverdale and he is a former student at Bowie State University. He also works as a security guard and currently lives at home with his parents.

The 33-year-old Gabriel Omogbo of Hyattsville, Maryland, has been in the habit of preaching the word of God on Sunday mornings and spending his nights hunting prostitutes in hotels. Omogbo allegedly uses Backpage.com website to source for female escorts who he arranges to meet up with and then attacks them after sexual activities.

According to WJLA, the first two attacks happened at the Best Western Plus Hotel in Rockville and on both occasions he is accused of raping and stealing from the two women he had met online. A third attack took place at the Radisson Hotel in Rockville, in which he is accused of threatening a woman with a knife.

He allegedly ordered the woman to take off her clothes before reportedly telling her ‘You are going to die today.’ He then allegedly beat her, cutting her arms, legs and hands and stole her iPad, cell phone and $300. The woman however survived and reported him to the police, explaining how he offered her a glass of water before fleeing the hotel room.

He was arrested after police traced CCTV footage from the hotels as well as collecting DNA evidence from each of the rooms. CCTV footage showed a man matching Omogbo’s description wearing blue jeans and brown loafers entering and leaving the hotels at the time of the attacks.

He is charged with attempted first degree murder, armed robbery, first degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Omogbo is now being held at Montgomery County Correction Facility on a no bond status. He will next appear in court on January 8 and could face life in prison.

NSCDC arrests 6 Tanker drivers for diverting fuel

2016-01-04T15:38:00.000-08:00

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) said on Monday in Kaduna that it had arrested six tanker drivers who allegedly diverted 148,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to the state. Alhaji Modu Bunu, the state NSCDC Commandant, said this while parading the suspects before newsmen.

Bunu said that the tankers were impounded on Saturday at an undisclosed location within the state, adding that the product was meant for Abuja, Jos and Kano, but was allegedly diverted to Kaduna.

The commandant said that the arrest was based on intelligence information which led to the mobilisation of operatives to strategic locations.

He said that the suspects were arrested at about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday within Kaduna State.

"Details showed that the tanker with registration number KAF 662 ZA was carrying 30,000 litres of PMS while DKA 515 ZP had 40,000 litres.

"The third one with registration number BAU 262 XR was carrying 45,000 litres suspected to have been diverted.

"In the same vein, the remaining truck, a DAF 85, is without registration number and was conveying 33,000 litres of PMS.

"The apprehensive occupants of the DAF on sighting operatives of the NSCDC, abandoned the vehicle and took to their heels.’’

Bunu commended other security operatives in the state for the cooperation given to the corps and urged residents to be more vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agents.

"I want to commend the synergy between the corps and other security agencies, and I implore members of the public to also collaborate with the corps by reporting timely to us in the fight against vandalism and other forms of crime.

"We are determined to carry out our statutory mandate but without the cooperation of the public, the command may not achieve all we want,’’ Bunu said.

Bunu said that the suspects were being investigated and would soon be charged to court.

"Again, you don’t blame some of these people for doing these things, so many houses don’t have toilets.

"So many houses don’t have bathrooms, so naturally, you find these people doing it outside.

"Government cannot take all landlords and start inspecting all the houses, but the Ministry of Health, "Wole, Wole’’ Inspection Officers, the houses they go and they find that there are no toilets, they seal them up.

"That is an ongoing thing; their own is just to go round the environment, enter any residential or official premises, inspect; once they see any defect, they give them an ultimatum to put such things into practice.

"And once they are not done, they are sanctioned according to the law.

"The environmental law is clear, every house must have a standard kitchen, standard toilet, standard bathroom, they must have proper drainages around the house and water system.

"The education is endless, we do our own, the health officers do theirs; the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offenses Office do education.

"And then when they have done enough education in certain areas, they do the enforcement and the enforcement is, those who run foul are brought before its tribunal.’’

He stated that the state government is working closely with several non-governmental organizations with a view to changing the attitude of residents towards open defecation.
