Mixed Bag Media

We continue our successful relationship with Mixed Bag Media.  MBM’s team continues to grow, recipe as does the caliber of work that we’ve been able to produce together.  Mixed Bag Media’s expertise in digital storytelling has allowed us to work on projects for companies and institutions such as Coca-Cola, Shepherd Center and Georgia Tech.  Our involvement has included everything from studio and on-site productions to complete videos existing entirely of motion graphics. Thermal Interrupt Devices

We’re also extremely proud of a project that we just completed for Thermal Interrupt Devices.  Last fall TID came to us needing a product video to showcase a new device (the Pump Protector) that they were developing and were planning to show at a Las Vegas convention.  They also needed it fast.  We produced a video that was part informational, part instructional and delivered on time and within budget to an extremely happy client.  TID returned to us recently with several months of new development into their product and, of course, needed a revamped video. October Skies Productions delivered again. Here’s Hank Mead, Vice President of Sales and Product Development for Thermal Interrupt Devices:

Last fall, October Skies came to our rescue by completing our first video just in time for our introductory exhibit at the National Groundwater Show in Las Vegas. Since then we’ve continued to develop our product, which ultimately required a new video. As a result of the excellent results last fall, we once more chose October Skies. Our new video was again completed quickly and professionally.

Then unrelated difficulties arose. The best way to determine a company’s true capabilities is when trouble comes to call. One day after completing our new video, trouble found us when we learned we would have to change the color of our newest product line. October Skies happily accepted the challenge and was able to re-shoot the key parts of the video in record time.

We have found October Skies to be creative, flexible and a pleasure to work with especially when time is short and deadlines loom. October Skies is our videographer of choice and as our product line expands, October Skies will get the first call when we need new presentations.

We can’t thank TID enough for being such a great client.  We think great things should happen to good people and TID deserves great success with a clever product that should be hitting the market in the coming months.  Check out the TID Pump Protector product demo video.

October Skies Productions and Montana Skies teamed up again in late July/early August to film and edit 3 HD music videos for the cello/guitar/fusion duo. Over the years, October Skies and Montana Skies have worked on several projects, including a 3 camera production and edit for their 2008 concert at the Mable Barnes Amphitheatre. This time around October Skies produced promo videos for 3 Montana Skies’ songs. Each song was shot single camera with multiple takes, which were later synched in post-production along with a pre-recorded track of each song. October Skies also utilized a new orbital dolly to create dynamic and smooth camera motion during production.

In May, approved October Skies Productions and Mixed Bag Media completed a video project for the ROTC’s Project GO scholarship program. The 3 minute video profile features Georgia Tech ROTC student Ross Neuhart, who spent time abroad studying the Russian language and culture.

Jon Milavec of Mixed Bag Media produced, filmed & edited the piece. Location and green screen shots were captured in High Definition video on the Georgia Tech campus. David Robinson of October Skies Productions completed all motion graphics and green screen compositing. Personal travel photos, stock photography and stock footage were all used to help tell the story of Ross†life changing experience in the Project GO program.

The video is posted on Georgia Techâ€s School of Modern Languages website, which can be viewed here. In an effort to reach thousands of ROTC students across the country, the video will be featured on the Project GO website as well.
