Happy New Year 2010

New Year eve is one of my favorite times of the year. I have more free time to dedicate to my projects, plus it’s the best period to think about new ideas.
It is also a period of the year when people do resolutions. Well we don’t like to change the tradition.

Before the presentation of the resolution and the next projects, odd.io netlabel team would like to wish you a 2010 full of health, inspiration, ideas and of course great music!

What we did during 2009:
- to begin with we changed the design, the hosting and the content management system (cms) of our web site. The design of the web site will not change for some time as we don’t really have free time lately.
- we created a web site for Spaced Cowboy. The web site has an easy to use content management system and a minimal approach as you can see by yourself visiting www.spacedcowboy.cc. The content of the web site can be updated from a web browser or an iPhone application.
- designed all the artwork for our first ever release. Check it here
- released Psych-Hop Beats Vol.1 through music.spacedcowboy.cc using 5 different formats and file qualities. Of course all these goodies are published for free using a creative commons license.
- music video production for The Dead, the first track of Psych-Hop Beats Vol.1 . Check it here, if you haven’t already and share it with your friends if you like it!

What are we planning to do during 2010
- release Psych-Hop Beats Vol.1 as a CD (coming soon)
- publish it through iTunnes so that you can support Spaced Cowboy by buying the album.
- second release of Spaced Cowboy
- third release for odd.io netlabel with a new artist (actually we are waiting to receive the tracks from the new act)
-launch of wiki.odd.io - the official wiki of odd.io netlabel where everyone can add facts and figures about odd.io netlabel and the artists that worked with us
- launch of broadcast.odd.io (a place full of podcasts, videocasts, streaming media and great producers. Stay tunned!)
- mini tour in Greece and the Balkans area (December 2010)

I really think that we’ve done amazing things, considering the fact that we did everything late at night after uni-labs and day-jobs. The most exciting things though are still coming. Collaborations, new music and interactive projects here we come!

Psych-Hop Beats Vol.1 - Artwork

One of things that I’m really proud about the first release is the artwork we created. Psych edited screenshots from the classic movie ‘Night of the living dead‘,and pics of probably dead(?) frogs created to accompany every track Spaced Cowboy produced.

Today we decided to present to those of you who haven’t downloaded the release and the artwork to enjoy it from here. We use a great free service called slideshare.net to upload the file and embed the artwork into our site.

Who knows If you like the artwork you see below you might as well download the release, which you can get for free (including the pdf) from music.spacedcowboy.cc.

Of course everything you see and hear is licensed using a Creative Commons license, so don’t hesitate to do whatever you want (except of course selling it).

undomondo.com is a music blog + radioshow based in istanbul. It covers quite a lot of bases from sound art & noise and electronic music to jazz, folk, world music and beyond. The site prides itself on having an anachronic approach to music where you can listen to the most recent release together with a 50 year old calypso record.

Welcome to our blog

Hi there! Thank you for you interest in our blog.
After the first release and the great party we decided to have a break from big projects (e.g: releases, release parties, music related artwork etc) and concentrate on the functionality of our own web site. We can not be a NETlabel without a great web site right?
Wordpress platform is great but we kinda get pissed off from some dynamic functionality of the template we choose. So, with the contribution of some great friends we switched from wordpress to Indexhibit. For now it seems is the best solution for us and I’m more than sure that we will not change it for a while. Again thanks to all the friends (you know who you are) who contributed in this. Lesson we learned from this: technology is a great tool in our hands, but sometimes it can be a pain in the ass!

For the moment we are working on a newsletter feature and some design issues of the web site. As indexhibit is not a blogging platform we choose this new blogging platform (with the weird name Tumblr) to update you about everything new we do. You can not add comments as we are not able to manage this feature yet, but this is on our tasklist. Untill we fix this you can send us your comments through email (oddio.netlabel @gmail.com)
Soon, this blog will be soon part of www.odd.io which means it will have a different url (something like: odd.io/blog or blog.odd.io). In any case we will let you know for every change through Twitter and/or odd.io

In other more important news: we are talking with a new artist. He is from another continent and plays music that we really like. No more info for the moment though :p .
Stay tunned on odd.io and we will let you know more details propably in a month or so.
