We value kids and nursery age at our church. We know that kids do not like to sit for long periods of time, but need fun and ministry for their age level. Check out the video below for a humorous look at how we arrived at that conclusion.

In addition to building a new KIDS and Nursery Wing for our church, we provide safe, quality nursery care for newborn through Pre-K. If you attend Owasso First Assembly and would like to volunteer, contact our nursery coordinator using the Contact Page.

Xtreme Youth in the Tulsa World

Covenant Series PDF and Audio

Sundays in January have been focused on the topic of Covenant. On Sunday, January 23rd hundreds from our church signed a Covenant Agreement that commits us to living out the principles of God’s Word.

We have set up a Covenant page under our Next Steps section of the website that will be available at least through 2011. This page has PDF copies of the Covenant Agreement and the Covenant Scripture booklet as well as all of the audio of the sermons from the series available for download. Owasso SUBWAY Restaurant | Contest Winner from OFA?

Owasso First Assembly’s Youth Pastor, Kevin Norwood, has been nominated in the SUBWAY Restaurant’s High School Heroes contest, which ends on December 15th. This is larger than just being sponsored by our Owasso SUBWAY Restaurant, but a national effort to highlight those around the country who have impacted and mentored youth.

Pastor Kevin was not only nominated, but has made it into the finals. You can help him win by voting for him on the High School Heroes Facebook Application. You will also have the opportunity to win some great prizes by getting involved. By the way, eating at the Owasso SUBWAY is encouraged, but not required to vote.

To vote for him you will first need a Facebook account. Then, go to the High School Heroes Application by CLICKING HERE. Once on that page, you will see a box near the top with the Crowdsourced Hero and SUBWAY Restaurant logos with a LIKE button. Click that you LIKE both of those to unlock your votes.

Next, you will need to find him. If you are already friends with him on Facebook you can click on the Friends tab toward the middle of the page to locate him.

If you are not friends with him yet, you can find his page HERE. However, even if you are not connected to him on the site you can still find his entry and vote for him by searching for his name using the Search tab.

After you find his entry you can place your votes. You should start out with 5 votes that you can cast for him and get additional bonus votes by participating, plus more each day to use until the entry phase ends.

Let’s help our Youth Pastor rise in the rankings. Whether you enjoy our Owasso SUBWAY Restaurant or not, you can help. He is already a hero to our church and youth, but this is your turn to show how you feel about the impact and difference he has made in the lives of young people throughout the years.

Black Friday iPad / Chick-fil-A Winners Announced!

LEE MOORE of Owasso, Oklahoma is the randomly selected winner of the FREE iPad!

ERIKA CARVER of Owasso, Oklahoma is the randomly selected winner of 1 Year of FREE Chick-fil-A! In addition to the iPad, Chick-fil-A Owasso has given this as a second prize!

On Black Friday 2010, Owasso First Assembly partnered with Owasso Chick-fil-A to hand out coffee and hot chocolate to shoppers in the early morning hours.

With that warm drink each shopper received a card instructing them to visit www.owassofirst.com to enter to win a free iPad. This contest was not available to attenders of Owasso First Assembly. It was designed to create an opportunity for those who already attend to share their church website with others by sharing the contest. The contest extended through the Sunday after Black Friday to provide time for people to share the contest.

We will be launching other contests like this in the future, and will announce the details on our Facebook Page and Twitter Feeds. Make sure you are connected to both of those using the links below. These contests will hopefully make it very easy for you to introduce your friends and family to your church through our website.

Becoming Jesus Christ’s Church in Owasso, Oklahoma

How do we know when we we are truly living out Jesus’ command to not only reach out around the world, but also at home in our own town? What does it mean to fulfill the Great Commission and truly become Christ’s Church in Owasso, Collinsville, or Claremore? No matter where you live, God has a purpose for you right where you are. But, where do you begin?

One of the main focuses of our church is Missions. Much of that focus does extend to ministries and projects around the World. We support varied endeavors such as Africa Tabernacle Evangelism, Teen Challenge, Fire Bibles and much more. This is in addition to supporting Missions directly through Assembly of God projects such as BGMC, Light for the Lost, Convoy of Hope and Speed the Light.

But the Great Commission involves more than giving to projects around the world. We have to ask ourselves how we as a church and we as individuals can live out God’s plan for sharing the love of Jesus and becoming Christ’s Church in Owasso, Oklahoma and our immediate area in addition to reaching beyond our borders.

Missions is more than something we do or give, it should be a part of who we are. The way we become Christ’s Church in Owasso, in our town and surrounding areas, is to simply be alert and aware of opportunities for God to use us.

The Black Friday Outreach, Standing in the GAP and even simply serving our kids by volunteering in our children’s ministry are all simple ways that we can say yes to God to intentionally reach the world immediately around us.

Challenge yourself today to get involved in ministry locally and begin sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ with those right within your reach.

FREE iPad | Black Friday in Owasso, Oklahoma

On Black Friday, November 26th, 2010 volunteers from First Assembly partnered with Chick-fil-A Owasso to give shoppers standing in line at stores like Target and JC Penney’s free coffee and hot chocolate.

Chick-fil-A had done this in past years, but allowed our church to join with them this year to distribute the drinks.

In addition to the free Black Friday beverages, the 25 volunteers also handed out cards instructing shoppers to visit www.owassofirst.com for an opportunity to win a FREE 16G iPad.

This contest was also open to residents of Oklahoma, but was not open to those who already attend OFA. For our church attenders this was a great opportunity to share the church website with those looking for Black Friday deals specifically by sending their friends to the site to enter for a free iPad.

Owasso Reporter | FREE Stuff on Black Friday?

Yes, it is true! The Owasso Reporter Newspaper had a great story about Owasso Chick-fil-A and Owasso First Assembly partnering together to give Black Friday shoppers FREE coffee and hot chocolate on November 26th, 2010.

One of our deacons, Dr. Mark Callery, led the effort and 25 volunteers from our church got started early in the morning around 2am to share a warm drink with those standing in the cold. This included stores such as JC Penney’s and Target.

The Owasso Reporter Newspaper interviewed Dr. Callery and had a great article on the Black Friday Outreach. Check it out at the link below.
