Here's a fun idea if you love nature, research, and analog (not computer-based) ways of engaging with the world. Each week, choose a species that you want to learn a little bit more about. Write some notes, draw a picture, ask some questions, and reflect on your connections to that species. It all goes into some sort of Nature Journal, and the format doesn't matter a bit.

I (Ms. Dailey) started with Robins because they are one of the surest signs of Spring! Here's a photo of my journal page, which I plan to add to over the rest of the week. For week two, I think I'm going to focus on the magnificent Oak tree. You'll see that included a poem, some of my own thinking, and an illustration (I basically copied it out of a birding guide that I got from my grandmother). x

Listening to Mary Oliver

Consider listening to Mary Oliver, the poet who wrote Flare (which we read in quarter 2) and Wild Geese ("You do not have to be good..."). This is simply an interview she gave when she was 83 years old, and as her poetry is so affirming and her face is so kind, so is her voice a fine one to listen to.
