With no less than 30 devices in their Xperia smartphone range, Sony certainly doesn’t shy away from releasing multitudes of Android devices. This year’s Xperia Z flagship is competing well against the heavyweights from Samsung, HTC and Nokia, while other phones such as the Xperia SP and Xperia E give consumers options in the lower reaches of the market. And let’s not forget tablets like the Xperia Tablet Z, praised by many for its slick design and water resistance.

Continuing Sony’s Android ambitions is the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, a handset witha 6.4 inch screen and impressive specifications. Falling into the phablet category, the Z Ultra brings over some of the best elements of their high-end smartphones into the ‘tiny tablet’ form factor.

For the first time, the Japanese company has released a phablet, one which truly straddles the line between high-end smartphones and small tablets.

SONY XPERIA ULTRA Z V/S IPHONE 5 :

SCREEN

The biggest selling point of the Xperia Z Ultra is its massive, 6.4-inch 1080p display, which is perfect for content consumption. It’s a larger version of their e-IPS TFT LCD panel used on the Xperia Z. e-IPS is essentially a cost-friendly version of full IPS panels, with reduced viewing angles but largely the same color output and clarity as you’d expect from a higher-end display

At 1920 x 1080, this display comes in with a pixel density of 344 pixels-per-inch (PPI).Sony likes to throw around a lot of marketing terms such as “Triluminous Display with X-Reality”, “OptiContrast Panel” and “Mobile Bravia Engine 2” to describe the Z Ultra’s display. In actual fact these just refer to a range of the display’s basic features, and truthfully Sony doesn’t need to use jargon like this because the display is very good.

DESIGN

Just like the Xperia Z the Z Ultra meets the IP55 protection standard, and adds IP58. This handset is covered against dust, low pressure water jets, waterproof, shatter proof, and scratch resistant.

On the one hand, Sony has crafted an astoundingly beautiful smartphone, combining a slim design with premium materials. On the other, the device is ridiculously large, pushing the boundaries of what can be considered a phone, and making it somewhat hard to use.

At just 6.5mm thick, the phone feels really nice in the hand, and even though it’s just a few millimeters slimmer than a phone like the Galaxy S4, it seems like there’s a huge difference. Sony has used glass for both the front and the back of the phone, which improves the overall build quality, but can make it a considerable fingerprint magnet as well.

It comes with 16 GB of internal storage, 2 GB of RAM, supporter for microSD cards, and a screen which is a 6.4 inch monster, with a FullHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (giving 342 ppi), and a 3,050 mAh battery to keep it all running. But it’s the processor that should catch your eye, it’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, running at 2.2 GHz with four cores. That makes the Z Ultra one of the fastest Android handsets out there.

Around the edges, the left side has a concealed micro-USB port at the top, and a dock connector around half way down. While the connector is magnetic, it’s strange that it wasn’t made flush with the edge; instead you get a small ridge that can be uncomfortable while holding the phone normally. It also doesn’t quite fit with the design: upon first taking the device out of the box.

BATTERY

Sony Xperia Z Ultra is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor alongside 2GB of RAM. It's safe to say it is the fastest device we've come across, handling everything that we threw at it with great aplomb. From multi-tasking and switching between apps, to casual as well as heavy duty games, everything was butter smooth.

Battery life is another area where the Xperia Z Ultra just about does the job and it should last a full working day with moderate to heavy use. The giant display on the device is a bit of a battery guzzler and power users will likely find themselves reaching for the charger before the day is over.

INTRODUCTION

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a new design over its predocessor boasting a soft-touch back that Samsung is claiming has been designed to evoke the connection between the smartphone and the classic notebooks of old.

Let's get one thing straight before we dive into this review though, the Galaxy Note 3 is only going to appeal to a narrow segment of users, it's certainly not going to have the broad appeal of the Galaxy S4, nor catch the eye of the fashion-conscious iPhone 5S purchaser.

We're still waiting for Samsung to embrace the full metal chassis we've enjoyed on the HTC One and the iPhone 5, but it is trying something slightly different with the Note 3.

COMPETITION

In terms of competition there's not a great deal which compares to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but its closest competitor is currently the Sony Xperia Z Ultra which boasts a massive 6.4-inch which dwarfs even this handset.

Whilst in the past the Galaxy Note was considered the flagship 'phablet', competition has been increasing since then and with the Xperia Z Ultra and theAlcatel One Touch Hero both fighting for their own market share, the Galaxy Note 3 has been given a serious update to keep it ahead of the game.

DISPLAY

With dimensions of 151.2x79.2x8.3mm the Note 3 is actually slimmer and thinner than the Galaxy Note 2 despite boasting a larger 5.7-inch display. Not only that, it's only 168 grams - 12 grams lighter than its predecessor.

The Galaxy Note 3 features a 13MP camera, able to shoot Ultra-HD 4K video at 30fps, FHD at 60fps and even Slow Motion at 120fps.

FEATURES

The Galaxy Note 3 has been given a serious hardware boost with the 3G model featuring the much-reported 1.9GHz octa-core processor whilst the 4G/LTE version had come sporting a 2.3GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rocks up with the latest version of Google's mobile operating system on board - Android 4.3 Jelly Bean - and of course the Korean firm has slapped its TouchWiz overlay over the top.

The main additions to the Note stem from its power, and the brand new Air Command function. Hovering over the screen with your S-Pen and pressing a button on the side of the Pen brings up a new menu, with a number of new features:

First up is Action Memo, which brings up a simple notepad interface. Scribble your note and the Note will save to your Notebook app, where you can view all your notes.

Then if you go in and select the note, the app will recognise what you've scribbled (within the boundaries of bad handwriting) and give you automatic options.

For example, if you'd scribbled a name and number, Action Memo will automatically recognise that, and give you the option to put that straight into your contacts.

Screenwipe takes a screenshot, then lets you draw and edit it before sending, sharing or saving to Scrapbook. S-Finder is a powerful search engine that will find anything on your Note, from apps to photos to files and folders. It'll even divert you to Google if you want to search online.

A quick drag inwards from the left hand side window brings up a column of apps, all of which are available in split screen. Tap on an app and it'll start up fullscreen, or you can drag it across and it'll happily take up one half of the screen. Once you're running two apps side-by-side you can drag the partition up and down to adjust the balance.

The Indian based company, Karbonn has once again proved that, the most budget Smartphone is manufactures by this company only. They are again out with their new Karbonn Titanium S5. This flagship handset is priced at ₹ 11,990 and is currently available at any online store. It has Jelly Bean version of Android with 1.2 GHz Quad core processor loaded in it along with range of features. It showcase 5-inch IPS qHD display and the speed of Multitasking will not be an issue with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB ROM. Karbonn Titanium S5 smartphone is dual SIM enabled. Let’s get you the full review.

I’ll not say its slim but yeah not a fatty piece like Nokia, it measures only about 8.95 mm in thickness and pretty easy to carry around. It has Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM with 4 GB of ROM. And yes don’t forget about the 2000 mAh battery.

The earpiece given along is quite clear and loud, to experience a great music and 4 GB of internal memory could be an issue but can be compensated with the micro SD card slot provided and can be expanded upto 32 GB.

LOOK AND FEEL

Putting it in your jeans pocket will not at all be difficult with its well-built dimensions. It’s quite simple and sober in its look. But it seems like that there is not enough designs available in the market as the phones coming now a days have almost the same look. REVIEW: COULD THE 5S BE JUST AROUND THE CORNER?

The iPhone 5 may still be quite new, but anticipation of the iPhone 5S and its imminent launch is high.

We would have been the first to label these rumours as rubbish, so soon after the iPhone 5, but the early arrival of two iPads – the iPad 4 and iPad Mini – in October shows that even when it comes to its product launch cycles, Apple can be unpredictable.

Apple will no doubt be feeling the pressure to get its next phone out on the market as soon as possible. Interestingly, it's likely that initial designs of the iPhone 5S will have begun under the watchful eye of Steve Jobs. But is it really as important a product as some suggest?

Kuo isn't the only one predicting a delay. After visiting Apple's manufacturing partners in Asia, Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies, has also said that he expectsiPhone 5S delays.

While Cook may have said that there's nothing new until September, it doesn't mean that it's necessarily Apple's choice, with rumours of delays. Ming-chi Kuo of KGI securities thinks that the iPhone 5S will be delayed, because of new technology

All-in-all that's as clear as mud, then. The only thing that seems to be certain is that the iPhone 5S will be an update to the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 6 will be a completely new model, most likely released next year.

IPHONE 5S RELEASE DATE

Any new phone from Apple will almost certainly be the 5S rather than an iPhone 6. Many analysts believe we won't see an iPhone 6 or cheap iPhone until 2014 (although, of course, not everybody agrees with this!).

The iPhone 5S release date could be as early as June. However, we believe it's still likely that we'll see another iPhone later in 2013, probably around the September/October timeframe. That will pit it up against rival Samsung, who will surely introduce the third generation of the Samsung Note, the Samsung Note 3, at IFA 2013.

There's no easy way to describe this, but rumours of the iPhone 5S release date are a complete and utter mess. If you believed every single snippet of information, then the new iPhone could be released in practically every month until September 2013. Law of averages would seem to suggest that one of these dates is correct, although Apple could just release in October just to prove everyone wrong.

Anyway, here's what we've got. Most recently, an internal memo from Japanese network KDDI was leaked. This stated that the company would start taking pre-orders on Jun 20th, before the iPhone 5S is released in early July. Alongside the launch date, the leaked memo contains some alleged specs, including that there will be a 13-megapixel main camera.

CAMERA

The compact camera market has been suffering due to the quality of smartphone cameras. It's clear that the camera is something that people really care about, wanting to take high-quality photos without having to carry two devices.

While the iPhone has been known for the quality of its integrated cameras, in recent months the competition has overtaken Apple. Competitor's phones, such as the Nokia Lumia 920, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z, have all been sold on the quality of their cameras.

While the jump to a 12-megapixel sensor would improve the resolution of photos, giving your larger photos, there is always the worry that it will increase noise. One of the problems with fitting high-resolution, but physically small, sensors is that there's less light per pixel. This can have a knock-on effect, particularly when shooting in low light.

FEATURES

It's claimed that the iPhone 5S will have a higher-resolution display than the iPhone 5, potentially based on the new IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) material. If true, it would provide the 5S with a brighter and more detailed screen than the iPhone 5, while also potentially dropping the thickness of the handset - albeit, only slightly.

This seems more likely following CES 2013, when the Sharp IGZO display technology was displayed for the first time inside a 32in 4K monitor.

That release certainly got the rumour mill going and it's been suggested that Apple has already approached Sharp about its technology, but not just for the iPhone 5S, but also for the upcoming iPad 5.

Recent rumours have stated that the iPhone 5S may launch with two or three different screen sizes. With the increase in popularity of large-screen smartphones, such as the 4.99in Samsung Galaxy S4, Apple is said to be interested in offering a range of different options to customers.

128 GB CAPACITY

The rumours of a 128GB version would seem to be true, as we know that Apple now has that capacity, thanks to the recent launch of a 128GB iPad 4.

The update to the iPad 4 was a completely new model with a new price, so we'd expect the same range of capacities and prices to be available from the iPad 5: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. With Apple now using 128GB storage in its tablets, the question is whether or not it will provide the same range of capacities in its iPhone and iPad Mini range, too.

Given that the capacity is now available to Apple and that the smartphone market is even more competitive, we'd say that a 128GB version of the new phone is more than likely.

PRICE

If there's one thing you can count on for Apple, it's reliable pricing. Pretty much every time a new product is launched, it costs the same as the outgoing model.

That would mean, unlocked, that the iPhone 5S would cost £529 for the 16GB model, £599 for 32GB model and £699 for the 64GB model. If there is a 128GB model, we'd guess that it will cost £799. Deals will, of course, be available from mobile operators if you buy the phone on contract.

DISPLAY

iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 will include a Super HD screen display and camera according to new reports in December 2012. The China Times says a 'Touch On Display' panel is being developed by Taiwanese supplier Innolux with 10 point multi-touch and a 0.5mm thickness. Apparently the site spoke to sources inside Apple's supply chain.

It's been reported that the handset would have a Retina+ Sharp IGZO display, which would have a 1080p Full HD resolution. It's also been widely reported that Apple could introduce two handset sizes as it seeks to compete with the plethora of Android devices now on the market.

WIRELESS CHARGING

According to CP Tech, Apple filed a patent application last month for Wireless Power Utilization, a wireless charging system with near-field magnetic resonance (NFMR). That means we'll get wireless charging at last.

While the Galaxy S4 is actually one of Samsung’s smaller handsets, its 5–inch display still makes it quite a gargantuan smartphone.

When it comes to handling, the size of the Galaxy S4 is not bad; however, with a case or bumper more or less required in order to keep the device safe from falling catastrophes, the Galaxy S4 begins to approach “too big” territory.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 spans 2.75 inches in width, which is slightly less wide than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3, which spans 2.78 inches. Be advised that the 5–inch display advertised for the Samsung Galaxy S4 refers to its span diagonally. In actual handling of the phone, its true width becomes much more important.

Added protection from a bumper or case may be necessary for the Samsung Galaxy S4 as it has proven to be a fragile device. Drop tests have shown that the smartphone can suffer excessive damage, including screen shattering, especially when it is dropped from a long distance, such as from the ear.

This series features tips to make the most out of windows 8, enable hidden features and more!
In this post you will learn how to add power shortcuts to the start screen in windows 8.
You'll learn how to add shortcuts for Shutdown, sleep, hibernate, restart, lock PC and log off. You can also add a shortcut to abort a shutdown, restart etc.

THE POWER SHORTCUTS IN WINDOWS 8 ARE HARDER TO LOCATE THAN IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF WINDOWS.

I WILL SHOW YOU A VIDEO IN WHICH IT IS EASY TO ADD THESE SHORTCUTS TO THE START SCREEN.

HERE'S THE VIDEO :

First thing you need to do is head to the desktop. You're going to create a new shortcut by right clicking on the Windows desktop and selecting New .. Shortcut. The first one is going to be an Abort Shutdown so type shutdown -a
Click the Next Button and we're going to call this one Abort.

The first thing you'll notice is the Windows 8 icon sucks. So right click, come down to Properties and we're going to Change Icon. Ignore this by clicking the ok button and we're going to replace shell32.dll with imageres.dll

Im going to scroll over until I find a nice icon for my Abort button. This one works. Click OK. Click OK Again. Now we have a more appropriate icon for our Windows 8 Abort button. If you had trouble finding the imageres.dll for any reason, I'll put the exact text below this video on both my website and on youtube so you can double check the spelling and make sure everything was right.

Ok, next we'll create the actual Shutdown button using the same process. Right click on the windows 8 desktop, select New, Shortcut. Here you're going to type shutdown -s
and this one will be called Shutdown

Again we need to give this an icon that better represents the power shortcut. We right click. Come down to Properties. We want to change the icon, ignore our little popup and again we'll replace shell32.dll with imageres.dll
Scroll over until you find a nice icon for your Shutdown button. Click OK and click OK again.

Now lets look at how the Windows 8 Shutdown actually works. We get a warning letting us know that Windows 8 is about to shutdown. Now, I don't want to shutdown so I'm going to use my Abort Shortcut and you can see in the task bar that its been cancelled.

The next shortcut is a bit different. We're going to create a restart button which unlike the shutdown it doesn't give a warning message and it restarts instantly. shutdown -r

Now we can set a delay by using -t followed by a space and the amount of time. I'm using 10 seconds. We can also give ourselves a little reminder with -c space and the message in parenthesis. I'm going to use Please Save Your Work.
I'm going to call this one Restart and I've already showed you how to change the icon twice so I'm not going to repeat that again. Ok, let's test out the Windows 8 restart shortcut. There's my little comment to myself reminding me to save my work and Windows 8 will wait 10 seconds before restarting but Im going to abort.

The next power control shortcut is going to be a log off button and we're going to enter shutdown -l
I'll call this one Log Off and then I'll skip ahead to the next one because you already know how to change the icon. This next one is going to be completely different from the others so pay attention. We're going to create a lock button, which takes you to the Windows 8 lock screen. As always I'll include this code in the text below the video on my website and on youtube so you can easily copy paste it.

Make sure that you capitalized this just like I've done here or its not going to work. Ok now we want to add these to our start menu by right clicking on each one and selecting Pin To Start. Once you have all this done head to your start menu.

The Windows 8 start menu can start looking sloppy really fast so we need to organize our new controls. Let's throw these into a new little area by dragging them over here and then after that we'll go ahead and give it a name. Click on the minus button and we'll drag our power group over here where it can be accessed quicker. Now right click your group. Click Name Group and we'll call this Power Control. You can name your group whatever you want. Power Control jut makes sense. There we have it .. now if I want to Lock my screen really fast .. there it is.

I will be showing you guys how to make Windows 8 much faster and more responsive. I have made this post geared towards non-techies but if you feel that you can do these tips by yourself, here is a step-by-step description.

1. Download CCleaner and disable unnecessary startup entries.

2. Disable unnecessary visual effects, only leave these checked:

Enable Aero Peek (If you want to use Aero Peek feature)
Enable transparent glass (If you want to use transparency in Windows)
Show thumbnails instead of icons (If you want to show thumbnails in Explorer)
Show window contents while dragging (If you want windows to show contents while moving them)
Smooth edges of screen fonts (If you want to show smooth fonts)
Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop (If you want to show shadows under desktop icon labels)
