He invoked historical resistance by referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s rejection of discriminatory laws in South Africa, using Gandhi’s act of tearing such laws as a symbolic gesture in his protest against the current bill.
He argued that the bill violates Articles 25 and 26 of the Indian Constitution, which protect religious freedom, describing it as an injustice to Muslims. Owaisi accused the bill of aiming to humiliate the Muslim community and inciting controversy over religious sites.
The source of Owaisi’s statements is attributed to Kashmir Media Service. The protest marks a significant moment in the ongoing debate over religious and constitutional rights in India.
Bucharest: Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland marked a significant milestone on Tuesday by overcoming qualifier Timofey Skatov in the first round of the Bucharest Open Tennis tournament in Romania. Despite committing 30 unforced errors and facing 11 break points, Wawrinka emerged victorious in a match that lasted three hours and 18 minutes.

Wawrinka, 40, won against Kazakhstan’s Skatov with scores of 6-4, 6-7, and 7-6. The Swiss player showcased resilience, notably when he was down 5-3 in the third set. He managed to hold Skatov to love in two consecutive games, leveling the match and eventually securing his victory.

This victory represents Wawrinka’s first tour-level win of the season. In doing so, he joins the ranks of just two other players aged 40 or over—Jimmy Connors and Ivo Karlovic—who have won an ATP tour or Grand Slam match on clay since 1980.

The win adds another chapter to Wawrinka’s illustrious tennis career, as he continues to compete at a high level despite his age. His perseverance and skill were on full display during this demanding encounter, providing a thrilling start to the Bucharest Open.

Islamabad: Pakistan’s agricultural exports have experienced a noteworthy increase, largely driven by the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Recent data indicates that sesame exports to China have surged by an impressive 179 percent.

In the first two months of the current year, Pakistan exported 22,740 metric tons of sesame to China. This substantial growth highlights the burgeoning trade relations between the two nations.

The significant rise in sesame exports is expected to bolster Pakistan’s agricultural sector and contribute to economic stabilization. The Special Investment Facilitation Council’s support appears to be a critical factor in this upward trend.

The increased export figures underscore the potential for further growth in Pakistan’s agricultural exports, which could play a key role in enhancing the country’s economic resilience.

Washington: President Donald Trump has announced a 29 percent tariff on imports from Pakistan as part of a broader strategy to impose heavy duties on global imports to the United States. This move represents a significant shift in the country’s trade policy, which has been oriented toward liberalization for decades.

In his announcement, President Trump stated that the decision was made in response to Pakistan’s existing 58 percent tariff on American goods. “Hence, we are imposing a 29 percent tariff on their products,” Trump declared, emphasizing the need for reciprocal trade practices.

Following his remarks, President Trump signed an executive order to implement these tariffs. The new duties are expected to create additional barriers for foreign goods entering the United States, the world’s largest consumer market.

The policy marks a reversal from previous trade strategies and could prompt retaliatory measures from other nations. Such countermeasures may lead to increased costs for various consumer goods, including bicycles and wine, affecting prices globally.

This development is part of a series of tariffs introduced by the Trump administration, reflecting a protectionist approach to international trade. The implications of these measures could be far-reaching, potentially altering the dynamics of global commerce.

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has condemned what it describes as continued aggression by Israeli forces in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, specifically highlighting the situation in Gaza. According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the violence has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, including civilians and humanitarian workers.

Pakistan criticized Israel’s recent military efforts, such as the illegal acquisition of the Morag Corridor, which it sees as part of a broader strategy to annex Palestinian land. The statement emphasized a particular incident involving the targeting of a UN-operated clinic in Jabalia that housed over 700 displaced individuals. Pakistan views these acts as violations of international law and as constituting war crimes.

The storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex by Israeli forces during Eid-ul-Fitr was also highlighted as a significant concern. Pakistan claims that this act violates the sacredness of one of Islam’s holiest sites and serves to heighten tensions in the region.

The press release described the destruction of civilian infrastructure and the displacement of Palestinians as both morally and legally indefensible. Pakistan called for an immediate cessation of these activities.

The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Palestinian self-determination and advocated for the formation of an independent Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. It also urged the international community to take decisive action to protect lives and holy sites.

Srinagar: The High Court of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has annulled the detention of three individuals, ruling that their detention under the Public Safety Act was based on “vague and unspecific grounds.”

A bench led by Justice Sanjay Dhar ordered the release of Umer Kabir Mir from Pulwama district, Abdul Ahad, also known as Ahad Molvi, from Baramulla, and Muhammad Iqbal Koka from Islamabad districts. The court’s decision follows individual pleas challenging their detention.

Mir’s detention was ordered by the District Magistrate of Pulwama on May 12, 2023. Molvi was detained following an order from April 4, 2024, by the District Magistrate of Baramulla. Koka was held based on a January 1 order from the District Magistrate of Islamabad last year.

The court instructed authorities to release the detainees immediately unless they are required in other cases. Justice Dhar noted that the vagueness in the grounds for detention undermines the detaining authority’s subjective satisfaction, rendering the detention orders invalid.

The judgment emphasized that detentions based on vague and nonspecific grounds violate the fundamental right to life and personal liberty under Article 21 of the constitution. It further stated that such grounds seem crafted to prevent detainees from providing a precise rebuttal.
United Nations: Pakistan has called on the international community to implement concrete measures to protect humanitarian workers in armed conflict zones. The appeal was made during a United Nations Security Council briefing on civilian protection in conflict areas.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, delivered the national statement, emphasizing that global efforts are currently insufficient for safeguarding those who risk their lives to provide aid in dangerous environments. He urged the international community to take more decisive actions to address this pressing issue.

Ahmad condemned the recent death of fifteen humanitarian workers allegedly caused by Israeli actions, which included eight Palestinian medics, six civil defense first responders, and a UN staff member. He described the incident in southern Gaza as a “wanton and shameless act” that has shocked the international community.

The representative’s statement underscores a growing concern for the safety of humanitarian workers in conflict zones, highlighting the need for robust international mechanisms to ensure their protection.

Srinagar: India is reportedly using the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) to systematically suppress dissenting voices, particularly in the region of Jammu and Kashmir, according to a report from The Wire. The report highlights the case of Irfan Meraj, a Kashmiri journalist accused under UAPA, as a critical example of this alleged misuse.

The report, compiled by social justice advocate Saranga Ugalmugle, emphasizes how Meraj’s arrest on March 20, 2023, for documenting human rights abuses, signifies a broader pattern of using anti-terror laws to silence those challenging the current administration. Despite a lack of concrete evidence, Meraj remains imprisoned without trial, accused of supporting pro-freedom activities.

The Wire’s report highlights significant flaws in Meraj’s prosecution and broader concerns about the UAPA itself, emphasizing that the law facilitates extensive restrictions on dissent. Through its provisions, the UAPA allegedly transforms accusations into a near-permanent state of guilt, bypassing fundamental legal protections.

Meraj’s case raises concerns about the violation of constitutional rights, as authorities reportedly failed to provide written grounds for his arrest. The Indian Supreme Court mandates that all arrested individuals must receive written reasons for their detention, a protection enshrined in the constitution.

The report suggests that Meraj’s situation exemplifies the systemic weaponization of the legal process, accusing him of participating in a vague “larger conspiracy” promoting a secessionist agenda. The prosecution’s reliance on ambiguous UAPA phrasing allegedly creates an atmosphere where political activism and journalism can be framed as criminal activities.

Additionally, the use of secret “protected witnesses” in Meraj’s case raises further concerns about the transparency and fairness of the legal process. His prolonged detention without a chargesheet or decision on his bail application, combined with an extensive list of witnesses, reportedly violates his right to a speedy trial.

Meraj’s case, according to the report, illustrates a broader strategy where the UAPA is used to label individuals as terrorists, extending beyond those engaged in violent acts to include journalists and activists. The state, it is argued, does not require proof of illegal activities, only the power to label an individual as a threat, thereby silencing dissent and deterring similar investigative efforts.

By focusing on cases like Meraj’s, the state allegedly aims to silence those documenting human rights abuses and shift attention away from its actions, warning others against similar pursuits.
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has accused the Indian government of executing a deliberate strategy aimed at economically destabilizing the Kashmiri population. The group claims that the recent attachment of properties and removal of Kashmiri Muslims from government jobs is part of a broader plan to weaken the region’s Muslim majority.

An APHC spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, issued a statement in Srinagar, as reported by Kashmir Media Service, asserting that the actions by the BJP-led Indian government are designed to economically strangle Kashmiris. These measures, he said, include illegal confiscations, forced evictions, and the demolition of civilian properties. The ultimate aim, according to Minhas, is to replace the indigenous population with non-local individuals, primarily Hindutva activists and Indian forces’ personnel.

The APHC further highlighted that these efforts have intensified following the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A in August 2019, which had previously granted special autonomy to the region. The conference argues that such moves are part of a campaign to marginalize the majority community in the territory.

The statement from the APHC also emphasized that the parliamentary resolutions cannot integrate Jammu and Kashmir into India, nor can they quell the freedom aspirations of its people. Minhas called for international human rights organizations to take notice of the situation and intervene.

The APHC maintains that India’s military occupation of Kashmir lacks moral and constitutional legitimacy, and it claims that the Kashmiri populace has never accepted this forceful occupation.
Srinagar: The recent passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025 by India’s BJP-led government has ignited significant political backlash, with opposition parties and civil society groups condemning the legislation as an attack on the Muslim community. Critics argue that the bill serves as a distraction from critical economic issues such as unemployment and inflation affecting both India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Kashmir Media Service reported that IIOJK Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather labeled the bill a constitutional violation, asserting it contradicts Section 25, which guarantees the Right to Religion. Speaking to reporters, Rather warned against any attempts to undermine religious freedoms, cautioning that such actions could set a dangerous precedent.

The Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), a prominent religious forum in IIOJK, expressed deep concern over the bill, viewing it as interference in Muslim religious affairs. The MMU accused India of attempting to curtail the autonomy of religious bodies.

Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi criticized the bill during a meeting in New Delhi, calling it a “brazen assault” on the Constitution. She urged Congress lawmakers to challenge the BJP-led government’s strategies.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference MP Mian Altaf Ahmad, speaking in the Lok Sabha, described the bill as a divisive measure meant to distract from the government’s economic shortcomings. He raised concerns about its implications for India’s secularism and unity.

Abdul Qayoom Wani, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum, issued a statement opposing the bill, deeming it unconstitutional and an affront to the Muslim community’s sentiments. He argued that the bill infringes on fundamental rights.

The Kashmiri Pandit Sangarash Samiti also criticized the government’s interference in religious matters.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, speaking to media in New Delhi, echoed these sentiments, accusing the bill of disenfranchising minorities and defaming them.
New Delhi: The charred body of Shahdeb Dey, a 38-year-old journalist who was missing since March 29, was discovered in a field in North Andaman district, according to local police.

Authorities have classified the incident as a murder and have detained four individuals, including a woman, for questioning. Superintendent of Police Shweta K Sugathan stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the murder.
New Delhi: Prominent Indian author and political theorist Aditya Nigam has refused to accept the Ramchandra Khan Social Science Award.

The award, presented annually by the Patna-based Lok Darshan Nyas, was this year jointly awarded to Nigam’s book, “Aasmaan Aur Bhi Hain: Vaicharik Swaraj Ke Taqaze,” and another work, “Allah Naam Ki Siyasat” by Hilal Ahmad. The ceremony is scheduled to be held on April 5 in Patna.

Nigam announced his decision on social media, stating he would not accept the award from any BJP or RSS representative. “I have written to the organisers saying that I will, under no circumstance, receive the award from any Sangh or BJP person and that they should cancel my tickets etc.,” he posted on Facebook.
Los Angeles: Dodgers pitcher Dustin May delivered a strong performance in his return to Major League Baseball, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves. This win extended the Dodgers’ season-opening streak to a record-setting seven games.

May, who had been sidelined since May 17, 2023, due to elbow surgery and an esophagus tear, pitched five innings, allowing just one unearned run and one hit. He also walked three and struck out six Braves batters.

The game saw Mookie Betts hit a pivotal two-run homer in the sixth inning, while Will Smith contributed with an RBI single. The Dodgers’ current winning streak marks the longest for the team in the Los Angeles era at the start of a season.

The victory came as the Dodgers hosted the Braves, building on the team’s early success and showcasing May’s promising return to the pitching mound.

Islamabad: From parliament to pavement, Hindutva drives India’s state machinery, shielding extremists, silencing minorities, and exporting hate beyond its borders.

According to a report by Kashmir Media Service, with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pulling the strings, India’s institutions have become enablers of impunity where violence walks free and justice is gagged.

Hindutva, rooted in Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s 1923 vision, now thrives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, blending race, religion, and language to marginalize minorities and redefine Indian identity.

Modi’s rise to power has turned Hindutva into a state doctrine, employing anti-Muslim rhetoric, welfare politics, and historical grievances to cement Hindu majoritarian dominance.

RSS-driven policies and pro-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) media outlets glorify Modi while vilifying minorities, turning Hindu nationalism into India’s unofficial creed and suppressing dissent.

The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), and the revocation of Article 370 exemplify how state power enforces Hindutva, disproportionately affecting Muslims and dismantling secular constitutional protections.

From lynch mobs to biased courts, Hindutva groups reportedly operate with impunity, aided by law enforcement and emboldened by government silence and support.

Hindutva’s journey from a colonial reaction to political dominance has been enabled by a weakened opposition, Islamophobia, and strategic use of populism and welfare narratives.

Educational reforms under Modi have allegedly erased minority contributions and glorified Hindu supremacy, turning culture, history, and classrooms into battlegrounds for ideological control.

New York: Pakistan has issued a call to action at the United Nations, urging the international community to implement effective measures to protect humanitarian workers in areas of armed conflict. This appeal was made during a UN Security Council briefing on the protection of civilians in conflict zones.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, expressed serious concerns about what he termed as the international community’s failure to adequately protect those who risk their lives in service to others. Ahmad’s statement highlighted the vulnerability of humanitarian workers, who often find themselves in perilous situations while providing assistance in conflict-affected regions.

The statement came in the wake of a recent incident in southern Gaza, where fifteen humanitarian workers, including eight Palestinian medics, six civil defense first responders, and a UN staff member, were killed. Ahmad condemned these killings, attributing them to Israeli actions, and described the incident as a “wanton and shameless act” that has drawn widespread disapproval and concern from the international community.

Ahmad’s remarks underscore the pressing need for protective measures and accountability in conflict zones, as humanitarian workers continue to face significant risks while fulfilling their vital roles. The call for action at the UN aims to galvanize international efforts to ensure the safety and security of those working on the front lines of humanitarian crises.

Recent statistics illustrate a significant surge in exports, particularly in non-textile sectors, which is seen as a promising sign for the country’s economic future.

Exports of sesame seeds to China have witnessed a remarkable growth of 179 percent, reaching a value of $28 million. This is part of a broader upswing in non-textile exports, which have increased by 2.3 percent to $9.8 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

The export landscape has seen notable progress with crude petroleum exports doubling, cement exports rising by 26 percent, and jewelry exports climbing by 66 percent. These developments underscore the country’s potential in diversifying its export portfolio.

A positive governmental move includes the initiation of exports from the Gwadar Free Zone, where approval has been granted for the annual export of 10,000 tons of potassium sulfate fertilizer. This is expected to further boost the economic activities in the region.

In alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision for export promotion, the nation’s automotive industry has taken a significant step onto the global stage. A consignment of 40 cars has been successfully exported to Japan, marking an important milestone for local auto manufacturers. The government is committed to supporting this sector through favorable policies, presenting a promising opportunity for growth.

These developments reflect a concerted effort to enhance the country’s export capacity, with SIFC playing a pivotal role in driving this economic strategy forward.

Islamabad: Pakistan’s export sector is experiencing notable growth, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). A significant rise has been observed in sesame seed exports to China, which have surged by 179%, reaching a value of $28 million.

In alignment with the prime minister’s vision, the country’s automobile industry is making inroads into international markets. A significant milestone has been achieved with Honda exporting its first batch of 40 Honda City vehicles to Japan, marking a pivotal development for the local auto industry. This move opens new avenues for local automakers to expand their reach globally. The government is backing this expansion through policies that are favorable to investors.

Data from the first eight months of the current fiscal year indicates a 2.3% increase in non-textile exports, totaling $9.8 billion. Notably, petroleum crude exports have doubled, while cement and jewelry exports have grown by 26% and 66%, respectively.

Additionally, the government has launched exports from the Gwadar Free Zone, allowing the annual export of 10,000 tons of potassium sulfate fertilizer. Raipur: Indian forces have killed a woman tribal leader in the disturbed state of Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred during a cordon-and-search operation in a forest along the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts, within the Bastar region, according to reports from Kashmir Media Service.

The woman, identified as Renuka, also known as Chaite or Saraswati, was a resident of Warangal district in Telangana. She was reportedly associated with the Communist Party of India (Maoist).

An officer involved in the operation stated that personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) participated in the mission, which commenced on Monday night. The officer alleged that Renuka held the position of media chief for the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, described as the strongest Maoist formation in the area.

This event brings the total number of tribal individuals killed in the state this year to 163. The Communist Party of India (Maoist) and various civil society groups have condemned the killings, calling for an international investigation. Maoist guerrillas have been engaged in a long-standing insurgency, seeking independence from Indian rule.

On Saturday, security forces killed 16 suspected Maoists in a gunfight in the state’s Sukma district.
Islamabad: Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has experienced an intensified reign of terror since Prime Minister Narendra Modi rose to power, as reported by Kashmir Media Service. The report highlights the institutionalization of state terrorism in the region, with the aim of quelling the resistance of the Kashmiri people.

The Modi administration has been accused of deploying severe measures to suppress the Kashmiris’ quest for freedom. Fundamental rights in the territory, particularly religious freedoms, have been systematically denied. Notably, Kashmiri Muslims have faced restrictions on offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at significant religious sites such as Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid and Eidgah.

Since August 5, 2019, the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar has repeatedly faced lockdowns and restrictions on prayers. Reports indicate that daily atrocities in IIOJK include cordon and search operations (CASOs), raids, killings, arrests, and religious repression. Since the significant date in 2019, over 980 Kashmiris have been killed by Indian troops, and more than 5,000 individuals, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, remain incarcerated in Indian jails.

The administration led by Modi is perceived to be advancing a Hindutva agenda in the occupied region. Despite the oppressive measures, the spirit of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom remains unbroken. There are calls from various quarters for the international community to hold India accountable for its significant human rights violations in IIOJK.

The report underscores the necessity for India to face consequences for its alleged violations of international law in the region.
Islamabad: India’s recent military photo-ops, aimed at promoting national unity, have come under scrutiny following allegations of religious persecution against Muslims, Sikhs, and other minority communities. Reports from the Kashmir Media Service suggest that these staged displays of solidarity may be overshadowing deeper societal issues.

Critics assert that while India showcases images of unity, Hindutva mobs have been involved in acts of violence against Muslims, including lynching and mosque desecration. Additionally, Sikh farmers reportedly face oppression, and Christian churches in the East have been targeted.

The Kashmir Media Service further alleges that under the guise of promoting interfaith harmony, Muslims have been subjected to forced participation in religious activities contrary to their beliefs. The report claims that Sikhs have been coerced into delivering Islamic sermons, while Hindu individuals disrupt Muslim prayers.

Concerns have also been raised about the treatment of Dalits, who reportedly face violence for minor actions such as drinking water, and Muslims, who are targeted over dietary practices. These reports question the authenticity of the government’s unity efforts, suggesting they may serve as a distraction from ongoing religious tensions.
Islamabad: In a recent address on the International Day of Zero Waste, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, underscored the nation’s commitment to climate-resilient maritime initiatives. The Minister highlighted efforts to protect mangroves, reduce marine pollution, and promote sustainable port operations as part of Pakistan’s strategy to safeguard coastal ecosystems and achieve environmental sustainability.

As the world observes the International Day of Zero Waste, which emphasizes sustainable consumption and production, Minister Chaudhry pointed out the critical role of the maritime sector in environmental conservation. He stressed the importance of collaborative measures for coastal ecosystem protection and aligning national policies with global climate objectives.

The maritime sector, responsible for handling 95% of Pakistan’s trade, faces unique waste management challenges. Minister Chaudhry outlined several measures to mitigate the environmental impact, including adherence to International Maritime Organization regulations, port operation modernization to cut fuel emissions, and a shift from heavy fuel oil to cleaner alternatives.

Conservation efforts are also underway, with over 5 million mangrove saplings planted in Sindh and Balochistan to counter coastal erosion and support biodiversity. The Minister emphasized the significance of reducing plastic waste in coastal areas to further preserve biodiversity and address climate change.

In coordination with the Climate Change Division, the ministry is working on integrating green technologies into port operations and promoting sustainable blue economy practices. Recent discussions with Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, focused on clean energy, marine biodiversity conservation, and climate adaptation for fisheries and ports.

Infrastructure upgrades, such as elevated expressways and modernized cargo systems, are being prioritized to reduce congestion and emissions. A proposed 30-year policy framework aims to attract investments in eco-friendly technologies, enhancing digital ship registration and automating port operations.

Minister Chaudhry urged stakeholders to adopt circular economy principles, underlining the importance of sustainable maritime practices for economic growth and environmental security. As the nation marks Zero Waste World Day, he reaffirmed the commitment to transforming Pakistan’s maritime sector into a model of sustainability, emphasizing the protection of oceans and coastal livelihoods for future generations.
Karachi: The Special Investment Facilitation Council’s deregulatory measures have significantly boosted Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry, resulting in a remarkable economic upturn. The policy has led to a profit surge of 13.5 billion rupees, marking a 210 percent increase in the sector.

Key companies within the pharmaceutical industry have reported profit increments of between 44 percent and 339 percent. This surge has made the industry more appealing to investors, with annual exports anticipated to reach five billion dollars, enhancing global investment potential.

The deregulatory framework has facilitated increased transparency in drug pricing and fostered competition, thereby improving access to quality medications. Companies are also being incentivized to invest in innovative research and development of new drugs, with an emphasis on enhancing the production of high-quality pharmaceuticals.

Additionally, the policy prioritizes the prevention of substandard and overpriced drugs, reinforcing consumer protection measures. The pharmaceutical sector’s advancement, underpinned by the SIFC’s initiatives, is regarded as a key driver of economic stability in the country.

MAKKAH: In a significant development for Sudan, the country’s army chief, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman following the Sudanese Armed Forces’ successful reclamation of Khartoum. The capital had been embroiled in conflict with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The meeting, which took place at the Al-Safa palace in Makkah, focused on recent events in Sudan. Discussions between Al-Burhan and the Crown Prince centered on efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, according to the Saudi press agency.

Furthermore, both leaders explored potential avenues for cooperation between Sudan and Saudi Arabia. They agreed on the establishment of a coordination council aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

Al-Burhan’s visit to the recaptured Presidential Palace in Khartoum on Wednesday marked a significant victory for his forces.

Islamabad: The federal government of Pakistan is set to unveil the National Minerals Harmonization Framework at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, aiming to create a unified regulatory environment to boost investment in the mineral sector. This initiative is supported by the Special Investment Facilitation Council and involves collaboration with provincial administrations, as well as authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The framework seeks to introduce compatible laws and favorable policies designed to attract investors by promoting environmental protection, safe mining practices, and fostering international partnerships. With the country’s mineral resources valued at over six trillion dollars, the government sees significant opportunities to attract global investment.

The policy framework was developed through consultations with Chief Secretaries, Chief Ministers, and mining companies, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the sector’s needs. Proposed measures include tax incentives, expedited licensing processes, and streamlined dispute resolution mechanisms, all intended to make Pakistan an appealing destination for mineral investments.

The government, with assistance from the Special Investment Facilitation Council, is committed to positioning Pakistan as a global hub for mineral investment, leveraging its vast natural resources to foster economic growth and development.
