Default Inbox

Priority inbox is a cool thing. I have started using it, and I believe that everyone will find it really useful. You can set to open the priority inbox by default, when you login to Gmail. Here is how to

Click on “Settings” from top right corner of your gmail inbox

Go to “Priority Inbox” Tab

Look for “Default Inbox”

Select “When Gmail opens, go to” as “Priority Inbox” from the drop down menu.

Click on “Save Changes”

Google officially announced this feature,to let you make telephone calls from your gmail  inbox. If you are a Gmail user in the U.S., you can now make free Web-based phone calls to any phone in the U.S. and Canada right from the Gmail interface. You can also make International calls for fees starting at $0.02 per minute.

To use this new feature, you will have to install the Google Talk plugin, which is available here for Windows, Mac and Linux. Google plans to roll this functionality out over the next few days, so it might be a bit before you see it in your Gmail account. Google Apps accounts won’t have access to this feature yet.

No, its not a type in the title, but yes, this is available in some parts of the USA as of now, and is an experimental project.

Now the story is, there is this app, called Shopkick, which will be available on Tuesday for the iPhone and in the fall for Android phones. Customers with the Shopkick app will get points (called kickbucks) for entering a store. The points are redeemable for gift cards at the retailers, along with music downloads or credits toward Facebook games.

So you walk in to a store and there is an audio transmitter inside the shop which lets your phone to communicate with it and let the app know that you are inside the store, and gives you few points for it. Some shops may even have a screen with a bar code displayed inside some part of the store, so you get some extra points for visiting that part, like say, its there in the trial room, so you get points for trying some dress … you get the idea right ?

If you were thinking about walking in and out of a store to get points after points, sorry to disappoint you, but shops can limit this, number of visits qualified per day …

If they put it for this certain shopping mall near my house, I dont mind starting the habit of a morning or evening walk

Everything started from this blog ( even though it changed the domain name couple of times, and even the blog name ). I got the energy and the passion to do other blogs, like the one I am concentrating on now, from this very old personal blog of mine. I’ve to thank “Wake Up Sid” here. I saw this movie 7th time today. I am not getting bored with this movie at all. For some reason, I am getting more and more attracted to it, and it always gives me a positive energy and inspiration to do something fresh and cool, this crude rambling being one of them !
