The Gear S2 is the round smartwatch that has been in rumors for a while now, and has now been confirmed to feature a 1.2 inch screen as compared to the 1.65 inch that was rumored. The resolution of the display remains the same at 360×360. The watch is about 11.4 mm thick and comes with rotating bezel controls as an interesting feature. You can rotate the bezel most likely to run through and scroll through a list or simply to to zoom in or out of the pictures on the device. The Gear S2 smartwatch is no slouch when it comes to power either. The device comes with a 1GHz Dual Core SoC as well as built in NFC on board. Not just this, the watch also comes with an eSIM variant which basically allows you to place phone calls as well as use Data on the watch independent of the smartphone and its connectivity. The addition of eSIM will make the watch a tad bit thicker though, but it is a trade-off we would be willing to make.

There is no word on the pricing of the device, which is expected to be out at IFA in 2015. The Samsung Gear S2 will be available in two different strap colors, namely white and grey while the central body or chassis shall remain black.

WhatsApp just released an update that every iOS user has been waiting for. They’ve added the “

WhatsApp Web was released on 21st January, 2015 for Android and Windows phones. After 7 months of the Android release they made it available not only for iOS but also for Blackberry OS, Blackberry 10, Nokia S60 and Nokia S40 operating systems.

Once rolled out on all iOS devices you will be able to access it on your desktop or laptop by visiting web.whatsapp.com. The website will then generate a QR Code, you’ll have  to open WhatsApp on your mobile and follow this steps WhatsApp>Settings>WhatsApp Web and scan it through the mobile app. Make sure that both the devices are connected to the same WiFi network for better experience. Once you’re logged in it, you can resume chatting using the computer. If you check the remember me option at the start you won’t need to do the same procedure again in future. It will also work with Safari on the Mac.

The feature hasn’t been rolled to all the user but it will be soon available as they’re rolling it out in phases. Recently, they also introduced some pretty cool features for iOS users that was in the update released on 5th August, 2015 like customizing notification per chat and mute, including videos in your backup and marking chats read or unread followed by many design and user interface related changes.

The first being that the LG Nexus 2015 will have a protruding camera, like several of the flagships today including the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S6. However, the new Nexus does not have a protruding camera as much as that on the Galaxy S6 though it is more than that on the iPhone 6.

Other than that, the Nexus branding is clear on the back and you can perhaps see the LG logo that has been covered. There is a laser auto focus on the rear too, something that we have known all along. The camera resolution is not known yet, though you have a Dual Tone LED flash on the phone. Since there are no speakers on the back of the device, it is worth assuming that speakers are either on the front or on the bottom, case can therefore be made for stereo speakers. You also see the finger print scanner on the back of the smartphone.

The phone is expected to bring a USB Type C port and will have a screen that measures about 5.2 inches when measured diagonally. It is expected that both the Nexus smartphones, including the Huawei Nexus will be released sometime in October alongside the public release of Android M.

Google’s Managing Director in Southeast Asia, Rajan Anandan said in an interview with The Financial Times that the new Android One product will released in the next few weeks and the that they are planning to launch it between Rs. 2,000 – Rs. 3,000. This means that now they are not leaving the entry-level segment up for grabs and will cater to audience wanting Android experience at a really low cost.

Google had started off with Android One program last year in September. The main problem with the Android One program was that it was solely available online for a product targeted at rural India. It is all about core software experience and you get a no bloatware installed that roughly translates to a cleaner user-experience. Updates are directly from Google and not the manufacturer, which is a lot faster.

We’ll have to wait a few weeks Google manages to crack the affordable Android phone market in India with the upcoming Android One.

Google is well aware of the problem, and since April has been working on a redesign of its Image Search as well as Image View page on the app at least. As a part of the test, only a few users were able to see the new layout which is much neater and does away with the hideous black borders that the previous app had. The typography too looks a lot cleaner and well in sync with the Material Design language that Google has been propagating.

Other than the obvious improvements to the UI, there is a feature addition too as right at the bottom of search, you will be able to see a section dedicated to Related Images which are basically images and topics that may be contextually relevant to the user based on his query. The new update specifically makes the transition from image search to image viewer section a bit less of a culture shock thanks to both the backgrounds now being largely similar. It is worth noting that the update is being rolled out in phases and while we were able to get the update on our OnePlus One, our iPhone 6 Plus was still stuck on the old Google Image search results page. So, if you are on an Android phone, make sure you have the Google app updated and chances are high that you will have the cleaner layout.

The new Mi in-ear headphones claims to have improved treble output due to optimized front cavity. The entire package consists of a cable winder and additional earbuds in three sizes. This gift wrapped package is a great deal worth its value.
Famous for its innovative approach, Xiaomi has also introduced for the first time over-the-ear headphones. These Mi headphones feature a premium look at a price of Rs 5,499. The headphones come with aluminium grilles and have a black leather-like band with red stitching. These foldable Mi headphones have an acoustic system supported by a large 50mm diaphragm.
As the span larger than regular headphones, the firm boasts that the headphones are capable of delivering exceptionally clear sound. A built-in mic with 3D audio produces realistic surround sound while its dual-damping system reduces ambient noise.
In a note, Xiaomi said the headphones had soft PU ear cushions filled foam and weighed 220 grams. The headphones are available at their official website. Xiaomi said, “The metal composite diaphragm speakers are allowed to operate naturally to deliver a high-fidelity experience. In addition, a separate output channel and output hole in the front cavity provide better balance and treble performance.
They had patented technology to fully optimise mid-range and bass output, statement further added. Xiaomi said the built-in Knowles MEMS microphone provided stability despite its tiny size. They were fully compatible with Mi phones and partially compatible with iOS devices except the volume up and down functions. The headphones come with durable, break-resistant Kevlar fibre cable.

Latest addition to the list of changes is the ‘search tool’. Now, Instagram users can browse accounts, search for hashtags, locations, and user accounts right from the desktop. Till now, the web version of Instagram displayed user profile and his/her news feed, nothing else. One could never search another user or popular hashtags from the online platform. Instagram has located the search box in the middle of the header, at the top of the page.

An Instagram spokes person stated to Forbes that, web search is part of a broader commitment to improving discovery across our platforms.With 70 million photos shared to Instagram each day, if something is happening in the world, it’s likely being captured on Instagram, he added.

Instagram has gone through a series of changes, the new Search tool is placed right on top at the center of the page.
Recently, Instagram unveiled a new web design for the desktop as well as for mobile.

The new web design has changed the way images were displayed, now it will display three large images in each row, as opposed to the five smaller images it displays at the moment on a profile page on the desktop, according to a report by the Verge.

Instagram has also removed the collage on top of the bio. The grid of cover images is now located at the top and the social photo sharing service has decided to remove most of the borders and rounded corners. Also, report further states that Instagram has decided to opt for circular profile pictures for the web version as well.

After the makeover, the web version and the mobile app version have similar looking profile pages. In addition, the user’s profile pictures, posts, followers and following on the web version are in the same style as on the mobile.

The presence of a super-thin profile of some sort or device with curved corners along with it is a metal frame or even a unibody design. Although it’s tough to comment, the website reported that it’s not going to be too long to wait. 

Seems like, Xiaomi has been working on an elaborated scheme to promote its upcoming products. Few days back, an image comprising of complete specs of Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus had also made its presence felt on Weibo. Mi 5 plus is a larger variant among the two and is expected to be launched during the launch of Mi 5. 

Xiaomi Mi 5 is said to sport a 5.2-inch display, Gorilla Glass 4 protection and 2.5D edges. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset, however, there is no information about the RAM size. A 3,030mAh battery is expected to power the device, slightly lower than the 3,080mAh battery seen on its predecessor. On the photography front, a 16MP rear snapper is expected and a 6MP front-facing camera is speculated for selfie lovers.

Libra was the code name given to the Xiaomi Mi 5 which will feature the fingerprint scanner technology. The scanner may have the name Sense ID, claimed to work on ultrasound technology rather than on optical. Optical is seen in all of the current fingerprint sensors.

The larger variant, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus, is expected to feature a 6-inch 2K display and a nearly bezel-less display.

The Chinese company is also rumoured to be working on Lollipop-based MIUI 7 user interface along with Android Open Kang Project which is popularly known as AOKP, for the upcoming Mi 5 device.

The company promises up to 39 hours of talktime on 2G and 16 hours on 2G, apart from 11 days of standby time. The phone was first launched in China in March and has been compared with the recently launched Meizu m1 Note. Both the devices have similar features though the m1 is priced at Rs. 11,999.
